I bought the fx silencer with my drs , its only the basic unbaffeled but it does a good job and is the same diameter of the barrel/cylinder . I've also overcome the fiddly mag by making a simple loading cradle to sit the mag in . Great review.
Excellent review and demo as ever , great to see how accurate it was with. 22 at a decent 30 metres. Be great to see you out pest controlling with it Richard. Very enjoyable. 😊
I want a .22 "walk-about" gun for pesting and this is absolutely at the top of the list. It's actually the very first FX I've ever wanted. I know they're good but the better ones are all plumbing and fiddling about, which is fine if you enjoy all that tuning stuff, but I just want something to shoot bunnies and this looks perfect. Which I believe is what FX were trying to do. Another very thorough review Richard, always a pleasure. Thanks for taking the time.
Much appreciate you using the rifle for more than one day like a lot of reviewers. Really want this one. I came close to buying a bullpup like the Throne but those guns have serious drawbacks no one talks about. They aren't very good field rifles. The scope ends up very high due to the buttstock not having any drop in the comb. That translates into scope cant. I own an Avenge-X Classic and I will be keeping that but want a second rifle. DRS is everything I was looking for and it looks great.
Good review I'm liking the rifle look and the accuracy shown though did notice the target move down in its holder over first shots giving you a tall grouping so it would have been even tighter 👍
If you Buy one, buy in 700mm so it comes with slug barrel and large plenium, install carbon sleeve and slug kit that consists of a heavy hammer a slug probe the day you get it. Oh so wicked with a 34 grain slug at about 960 fps. Use a balistic app and sold platform to shoot from, head shots all day long. I also recomend adding a regulator gauge on the side of the large plenium for precice tuning. You will find "all" these things are on back order, for a reason!!!!
Another excellent review as always Richard. This DRS looks very appealing indeed. Initially that mag might seem a little fiddly but am sure with use and familiarity it wouldn’t be an issue. Good to see a .22 being reviewed too 😁
Great review mate 👍I liked the DRX immediately when it came out. In my opinion the best FX for active hunting use. Indeed nothing new because Artemis came out with the M30 five years ago, but is not comparable with the FX of coarse. The DRS is light weight, not to loaded with a lot of tralala, full size stock for fee hand shooting and i think the soft touch finish give enough grip in wet conditions. The air cylinder will absolutely make the barrel more stable, but that mag will be way to much trouble for me to load in the field. Best would be to buy one or two extra mags and have them loaded with you. Probably it comes already with an extra mag. Cheers!
Great review Richard, Mrs has one in . 177, damn accurate it is anawl, I put a smidgen of grease on the probe and left it in, and put a, snazzy foster cap on it from best fittings.. It won't drop out, indeed when you pull the cap off to charge it up, it doesn't pull the probe out.. Looks cool anawl.. Mrs loves it
Great vid as usual Rich, thank you. Folks on UA-cam are already recommending alternative magazines as I’m sure you’re aware, I think FX could really up their game there. I’m still looking forward to an Alpha Militaria cap when you guys get around to it.
Great review this is going to be my next rifle love the weight and simplicity, just hope there is enough room on that rear rail for a Cheetah NV scope.
Great review as usual Richard. These days I’m only really interested in bullpup/take down/ folding stock options because of their sheer portability but I can make an exception for this one. I was shown one recently in my local gun shop and it handled beautifully and even with its conventional lines it actually weighed less than the high end - light as a feather - Bullpup I was supposed to be checking out. Shame that FX won’t change the design of the their magazines to one that’s simpler and doesn’t hang out of the side of the gun and while they’re at it why don’t all manufacturers just drop probes in favour of foster fittings. In spite of these little irritations (for me anyway) - I’m totally sold on the sheer simplicity, handing and portability of this little gun and for £750 it’s a no brainer. Thanks for the review Richard, it’s nice to know there isn’t some hidden flaw with the gun but I suppose when a manufacture like FX decide to keep it simple they’re going to get it right first time around.
That magazine does look a bit of a faff, especially when compared to the Air Arms one. I’m not sure it’s that well suited to a top up in the field, but you can’t fault the accuracy, though the Hades performs just as well in many rifles, especially in .22. Great review👍🏻👍🏻
Looks like a really nice rifle, but I lost interest when I saw the faffing about with the magazine. Simple is best for me. So I think I'll be sticking with the ever faithful HW100. A pity they couldn't come up with a simolar style of mag for FX rifles ?.
Wouldn't like to try and load that magazine on a cold dark nite Richard all the quarry would have gone ps of all the air rifles and magazines the hw100 is still king
When was this rifle released? I ask because they are on pre-order everywhere I've looked, when is the official release? PS. It's one hell of a sweet looking bit of kit.
They are coming into the UK but selling out quickly as they are so popular. I've been waiting two months for an FAC rifle. Its a case of keeping your eyes peeled or putting your name down as a pre-order at Sportsman Gun Centre. They are the official UK importer so will get theirs before anyone else!
@@airgunextra I pre-ordered at pellpax just over two weeks ago, they said end of august...maybe, I'll bookmark Sportsman Gun Centre and proberbly cancel with pellpax.

Could be velocity variation but more likely shooter error. That was actually a pretty impressive group considering he didn't seem to be using a rear bag.
I shot well over 100 rats with the DRS and an Arken Zulus when I recorded an episode of The Airgun Show a couple of weeks back. Still plenty of air in the tank so I don't think 200 is too far off. Thanks for watching.
Absolute pants rifle I've stripped loads down in the last two weeks the sear is a stamped piece rough as fik brass dust every were the hammer on all four were covered in brass fillings the hammer spring and weight load of pisss
A shame that the bit underneath the stock wasn't suitably shaped, in order to fit a hamster for 'off the knee' style of shooting. Not everyone holds a rifle like a shotgun!
Shame it didn't have a pic rail, especially if aimed at hunting/ pest control also it doesn't seem to have option for a bipod I was going to trade in my 110 otherwise
Stock is not a great design for the average person Comb is to high making scope to low for mounting have to move scope up away from bore line not a good thing for a short range rifle

good review , a good explanation around the rifle and its workings in a finer detail then other videos 👍

Hi Richard
I presume the macavity is up for review shortly just wondering if it will be sub 12 or fac.
Hi Paul. We reviewed the 30 ft/lbs Macavity some time ago. I've not heard of a 12 ft/lbs rifle yet though...
Would a spuhr one piece picatinny mount fit on this rifle?
Looks like the magazine might get in the way.
Maybe the high FX picatinny rail?
I'm not familiar with that. FX make a Picatinny rail that's an option for the DRS though...
Looks like a really nice rifle, but I lost interest when I saw the faffing about with the magazine. Simple is best for me. So I think I'll be sticking with the ever faithful HW100. A pity they couldn't come up with a simolar style of mag for FX rifles ?.
The magazine really isn't that bad. I've used worse.
Hi Richard, appreciate it’s a bit more expensive, but would you have the DRS or a HW100 if you were buying one rifle ?
Hi Miles. I love my HW100, but it would be the DRS for me right now. Just on weight alone...
@@airgunextraGot it. High praise! Thank you for the reply Richard.
Hi, Nice review, curious though you mentioned shoot count .177 140 and the 22 cal at 200 shot count, wouldn’t that be the opposite? Thanks.
Even the opposite way around it can’t give you 140 shot in 22
After 50 shots you need to refilled
@@christopherjames2825makes sense
Hi Kurt. It seems counter intuitive I know, but .177 shot counts are always lower than .22. I'd wish I knew why, but there you go.

No, you'd have to drill in for a stud...

I think it's designed more with hunting in mind than HFT/FT.
