Growing up in western NY, taking out of town guests to see the Falls happened at least once a year. It actually makes a very nice day trip out of Rochester, doing both the US and Canadian sides. We'd drive to Niagara Falls, following the lakeshore of Lake Ontario and then up the side of the river, stopping at the whirlpool and gorge. Park at the state park on the NY side. (It's the oldest state park in the US.) Walk around the US side, up to Goat Island, etc. You get many kinds of views of the falls, including being able to cross between the two halves of the US falls, looking down over the edge. Catch the Maid of the Mist. Go up the viewing tower. Have lunch, either a picnic or at the cafe in the park. Watch for black squirrels, which are quite rare, except for in the Park. In the late afternoon, walk over the Rainbow bridge to Canada. (The view as you cross the bridge is great, and it saves having to wait in the lines to cross in a car.) Have dinner on the Canadian side, enjoy the different view from there, as well as while crossing the river. Walk back, call it a day. If you have more time, there is a great butterfly conservatory and botanical gardens on the Canadian side. There is also Old Fort Niagara on the US side.
Hey Sam! Nice job aim this video!! Man stuff is exspencive in Canada 😮 the boat ride looked awesome though! I’d bring a spare change of clothes haha! The wax museum was so bad hahahahaha….. nice hotel too the view was amazing!
Nice video! Lol, those wax figures were terrible. I love Clifton Hill but learned long ago to avoid all the museums. I love Niagara Falls and have visited the Falls over 60 times. I live under four hours from the Falls, so I visit at least once a year, and some years, more than once. I like watching Niagara Falls youtube videos. It is interesting to see people's take on the Falls and the area that I know so well. Everthing is overpriced in Niagara Falls but I don't mind, since I love the place so much. I think the best hotel with a view of the Falls is the Sheraton Fallsview on Clifton Hill. The Crowne Plaza Fallsview is a close 2nd. I just uploaded some new vids to my channel from my visit in May. This year, I did the Cave of the Winds on the American side and the Whirlpool Jet Boat (which was awesome!) and the helicopter tour on the Canadian side.
I did look at a few of the other fallview hotels when planning this trip, and ultimately went with the Marriott because it was the cheapest..... or so I thought. I'd love to do a comparison video one day, but I think it would cost a fortune. Cheaper hotels and have more money to do the better activities is the best option for traveling on a budget, I think! Glad you enjoyed the video, I'll have to check out your videos too!
@@akolngtoh2860 If I was going back again and not making a video I would just avoid all the fallsview rooms and get something further into the city i tihnk. then with the money i would be saving I could go and do so much stuff!
I was thinking that when you said just one more thing you would bust out the fins, and go over the falls....Think of the views you would get. What could possible go wrong. Good job.
We stayed two night here in 2021, and as seniors, we were ok with the cost, one because we were just out of Covid, and two, it gave us the closeness to do the walking tourist thing, used the WeGo bus, and enjoyed the view from the room. We live 1-1/2 drive from the falls, and had never done much of the actual tourist sites. We’re they worth the money, some no, but we wanted to give back to the industry.
Many of the attractions do appear to be a cash grab, unfortunately. However, certain activities such as the Skylon tower and the falls cruise were so good that I took my parents there when they visited this week.
You know in the USA side of the Falls there are hiking trails(Devil's Hole and Whirlpool park) that take u down to the river rapids and is 100% free, and the Seneca Casino also has free parking so u could always park there then walk to the Falls. Also parking is free after dark 8pm weekdays, 10pm weekends. And off season all parking is free after 5pm.
Great great great video Where did you purchase your ticket for being on the boat in the middle of Niagara Falls. Also do they give you a cover for your phone?
Thank you! The tickets are sold at a ticket booth above the boat docks (Niagara city cruises) its at the end of Clifton hill. Unfortunately no phone covers only the rain poncho.
Ya know living here i wonder what the hype is for, and then i remember not everyone has a massive waterfall in their back yard 😂 great video man! Ive done everything except the zipline lol
Nice video. We are going in two weeks. We are staying 3 nights in Canada close to where you stayed. Tell me about the public transportation that will get us to the Aero Car and the River Walk. We dont want to drive any more than we have to. The only two things we are doing on the American side, is Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds. Of course we will walk the State Park while on the USA side.
Thanks, glad you liked the video. the bus service around Niagara is the WeGo service, which has 3 routes I think, and a bus pass is included in some of the hotel stays and can be bought as part of some of the package attraction deals. depending on what you have planned in Niagara Falls you may get a 2 day pass for 2 people for free. I have a short trip planned there next week with a stay at the Marriott Canadian side as well. This now has me considering the US side instead since I despise being nickel and dimed to death and those extra fees at the Marriott seem excessive.
The fallview Marriott was the cheapest of all the fallview hotels I could find! I would definitely recommend if you're not into squandering all of your money, get a cheaper hotel! All of the activities I did on this trip combined cost less than the hotel!

I am staying in King bilevel room on the top floor so I am hoping it will be nice. Did you go anywhere in walking distance from the hotel or take public transportation everywhere?
sounds like it should be a great view, just be carful of those extra costs, I drove to the 35 dollar parking near the power station, from there I walked to everything (Clifton hill, Niagara cruises, the zipline etc) the white water walk it a long way though (that one I drove to) but the gobus has a station right outside the water walk if thats one of the activities that you plan to do and you get a 2 day pass included in the hotel booking, but there is plenty of cheaper parking available, if you have to pay for parking at the hotel I would recommend leaving your car there and taking the bus or walking everywhere.
@@samwhereanywhere thanks! I am flying in from SC so will be relying on public transportation and walking (if possible) to get around. In the tourist areas Niagara Falls has taxes on top of the taxes. There are lots of really cool places that weren't mentioned that only locals know that are free.
Just out of curiosity, why did you get a room with 2 beds in it? Wouldn't a one bed room be cheaper, or did they not offer the view of the falls with one bed? Interesting video though.
We were there in May but staying at the Sheraton Falls hotel (bed linen was tired). Sheraton Falls was an easier walk for us, we're not very able. Yes, paying for the view but that's what we came for. We managed to avoid Clifton Hill. The Tussauds Wax museum was there in 1967.....I didn't go in. Those wax figures were atrocious, should have asked for a refund. Did you find your Book of Mormon in the bed table drawer?

How much money did competitor Hotels PAY YOU to not provide an excellent rating for The Falls view Marriot Hotel and Spa, Sam? The views are spectacular. The restaurants are impressive. The arcade, shopping and Rainforest Cafe are all within the same building area.
This was the cheapest hotel I could get offering a fallsview room. The other hotels were more expensive. nothing I said was untrue. The exact dollar amount is what every tourist can expect to pay. By all means, if you have the money for a 400 dollar room, fill your boots!

There is indeed a Niagara Falls "WEGO" bus service that travels around the tourist spots of Niagara falls on the Canadian side, not sure about the American side though
i havent even watched the video yet.. but for all those who want to take your next vacation to niagara. dont do it. im a local, have been for 20 years.. its not a good place.. .the hotels are cheap, the views are even worse and everything is so expensive.. i promise you will get bored on your first day.. save your money and go somewhere actually nice. you get charged a "tourist tax" at basically every place you go.
that is handy, but I find that 35$ is still a bit expensive still. As long as you're up for a bit of a walk, the 10$ parking is a great option. Thanks for watching!
@@samwhereanywhere I had elderly parents with me otherwise the $10 parking by Applebees, or at the casino tower is great! Easy to walk everywhere, or take the Wego.
@@Azza662 oh well that is a great deal then! the Falls certainly is a great place for families to visit, I know a lot of parents and grandparents all of which say Niagara is on their bucket list!
The crazy thing is that you have to pay apart for the chicken tenders o nuggets sauce or pancake sirup also. They only gives you ketchup for free. And that another funny thing. They use ketchup in everything. No thanks. 😂😅.
It does have a high novelty appeal for some people I suppose, but personally I'm not a fan. The cost of these attractions everywhere else in the world would be a lot more reasonable for what they are. That waxwork museum though.... it's hilariously bad
After viewing this video and going to Canada sadly I have to agree it's a rip off. Food, parking and almost everything is way way over priced. I thought the NY side while expensive as well was not as bad as Canada.
It really was! I thought I was paying too much when I booked at $244. Despite noting every cost for the trip I still needed a sit down after seeing my credit card bill at the end of it all! Thanks for watching!
I grew up in Niagara Falls,NY. There's so much more to it than the tourist trap Canadian side you show here. The American side is far better in my opinion. Far more history has been preserved. The birth of electricity which kick started the industrial revolution. Nature has been better preserved as well. Take the hike down the hand made stairway to devils hole. It's incredible.
I will have to try and make a Niagara Falls USA video one day! From what I've heard since this video, everything is cheaper in the USA, from what I could find online though there didn't seem to be any fallview hotels on the USA side, and that was the primary focus of this video. I'd love to do a comparison video, but the downside would be that I have to pay for everything twice lol. Thanks for watching!
Yeah do that. The pizza, chicken wings, and beef on weck are incredible. Lodging is not great but there are a few places. The trick is to find the gems. And there are many. Alot are in the lower river. The gorge is a treasure of geological history. The whirlpool is incredible. The lower river rapids are hypnotizing to watch. Just be careful cuz water levels go up and down. Enjoy.
The video just showcases my experiences. Hopefully, people will see my tip on parking and take my suggestions about how to make the most out of their trip in a positive way. 🤷♂️
I have actually discovered that this trip was the most expensive trip (per day) that ive ever been on, and I usually travel with my wife! travelling solo youd think the expenses would be down!

Well that depends if you want to spend a lot or a little, but top 3 things to do is the boat cruise, the skylon and the zipline!
Instead of driving is their a public transportation, train,or shuttle
There is indeed a Niagara Falls "WEGO" bus service that travels around the tourist spots of Niagara falls on the Canadian side, not sure about the American side though
i havent even watched the video yet.. but for all those who want to take your next vacation to niagara. dont do it. im a local, have been for 20 years.. its not a good place.. .the hotels are cheap, the views are even worse and everything is so expensive.. i promise you will get bored on your first day.. save your money and go somewhere actually nice. you get charged a "tourist tax" at basically every place you go.
Well from my experience the hotel certainly wasn't cheap! Thanks for watching!
@@samwhereanywhere I don't mean ceap as in price, but more as in quality! P.s I really enjoyed the video!!!
Stay on Lundy's Lane hotels, 80% cheaper. There's even places you can park all day for free.
Thanks Ron, hope you enjoyed the video!
You can buy 24 hour unlimited parking online for $35 for all of the park’s attractions.
that is handy, but I find that 35$ is still a bit expensive still. As long as you're up for a bit of a walk, the 10$ parking is a great option. Thanks for watching!
@@samwhereanywhere I had elderly parents with me otherwise the $10 parking by Applebees, or at the casino tower is great! Easy to walk everywhere,
or take the Wego.
@@Azza662 oh well that is a great deal then! the Falls certainly is a great place for families to visit, I know a lot of parents and grandparents all of which say Niagara is on their bucket list!
@@samwhereanywhere it is definitely a nice place to visit! An amazing natural wonder!! Well worth a visit!
YEAH SAMMY!
Enjoyed it I assume?
Hey i think i went to that exact hotel !!
Cool, was it cleaner than when I went?
$400 dollars for the room, you would think they could clean the windows!! Shame on you, Marriott.
🤣 you would think, also I would assume even basic vacuuming would take care of toenails and long strands of hair (there was a lot of hair)
Try niagara falls ny next time🤣
I really think I should have done both sides as like a comparison video. Too late now though
agreed with 100%
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
The crazy thing is that you have to pay apart for the chicken tenders o nuggets sauce or pancake sirup also. They only gives you ketchup for free. And that another funny thing. They use ketchup in everything. No thanks. 😂😅.
Chicken tenders and Nuggets? For breakfast? That's an ambitious breakfast lol
Thank u
No worries
Clifton Hill has always been a weird shit show. Remember it as a kid and we never went to anything there bc it was overpriced and bad lol.
It does have a high novelty appeal for some people I suppose, but personally I'm not a fan. The cost of these attractions everywhere else in the world would be a lot more reasonable for what they are. That waxwork museum though.... it's hilariously bad
I live in Canada and still find Niagara Falls in overpriced on everything
I live in Canada too! And I agree, I was not prepared for how much this trip actually cost me! Hope you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
After viewing this video and going to Canada sadly I have to agree it's a rip off. Food, parking and almost everything is way way over priced. I thought the NY side while expensive as well was not as bad as Canada.
It sure is regretful! It's such a beautiful place to go. Maybe when I'm rich lol
Won’t be staying at that Marriott. Thank you !
It was disappointing for sure! I'd definitely recommend staying somewhere further away from the falls for half the price 😁
HOLY!
Holy? not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, Thanks for commenting though! hope you enjoyed the video!
Way too expensive
It really was! I thought I was paying too much when I booked at $244. Despite noting every cost for the trip I still needed a sit down after seeing my credit card bill at the end of it all! Thanks for watching!
Indonesia🇲🇨
Lol yes Indonesia!
Enjoy.
Stopping people to go there after watching the video, lol…need another video for money save tips.
The video just showcases my experiences. Hopefully, people will see my tip on parking and take my suggestions about how to make the most out of their trip in a positive way. 🤷♂️
All Glory and Praise to Yahweh through Jesus Christ always and forever. Any and everyone Repent in Jesus Christ name if you haven’t already
Indeed
wait ur alone? ahahahahaha
Yes? It's a solo travel vlog
That generic UA-cam background music is hard on the ears
classic Epidemic Sounds that it! best source of copywrite free music for creators.
Ridiculous price ,tourist trap.Go to Philippines more beautiful and affordable.
Glad you liked the video, I may have to go somewhere more affordable!
Lol no .I’ve lived here my whole life and it’s nothing special really.
That was my opinion too really
Not worth it...I live 10 minutes away - garbage...don't know why people come here....stupid prices and poor quality of everything....
I have actually discovered that this trip was the most expensive trip (per day) that ive ever been on, and I usually travel with my wife! travelling solo youd think the expenses would be down!
I am never going to know, because you have annoying edited in music, so I am now blocking your entire channel. Bye.
Oh no!
No hotel is worth that price, even at the good exchange rate.
I agree! I'm glad I did it for the sake of making a video, but never again!
