  • LS Swap. 5.3 vortec motor is going to be overhauled and freshened up so that it can be installed in my 1989 Chevy full size Blazer.
In this video i get down to the nitty gritty. The transmission gets seperated from the motor, the starter and harmonic balancer come off and a broken exhaust manifold stud is removed by welding a nut onto it. The first round of cleaning begins! Driving forward on this thing!

As someone getting ready to buy and build an LS to swap into my S10, THANK YOU! I’m in the “gather all the data possible” stage and this helps so much!💪🏾

Glad to help! I’m new at this too. Well the LS thing at least. Gonna be fun learning how this all works!

Nice work buddy! When you are welding into the head, do you have to worry about melting the aluminum?

Good question. Probably something to be careful of. I’m guessing the mass of the aluminum is enough to dissipate the heat.
