I like it. I give you 20 bucks for it. You can keep the cage and throw in a delay pedal. :)

Fender revised things and fixed the channel switching "pop" at some point. My 2010 is older, and it does it.

Mine throws out a lot of static which is exacerbated by the reverb nob. I disconnected the reverb but it didn't fix it. I'm going to have to take it in. I adore this amp but it has a couple bugs.

Wonder what’s causing your static? Scratchy pots, cables, or could be a guitar issue if it’s plugged in. They are great sounding amps otherwise. My volume is usually pretty loud where I don’t really notice the rattling, but the clean low volume stuff I wish was better.

Deoxit Spray might help the popping from switches, it worked on my old Amp channel switch

Scott Groves do you know if that works for scratchy pots? I’ve got a vintage Fender amp project coming up. Thanks for watching

@@RichTones , definitely works on pots. unplug everything, spray a tiny amount, then just turn it slowly, clockwise and counter clockwise a few times. wait 20 minutes for it to evaporate before plugging in.

Deoxit is to electrical problems like Windex is to medical ones.

Rich my supersonic 22 the normal and fat switch turned off and then turned turned off the foot switch so I’m not able to use the next game the game one game two and the middle section of the app any suggestions on what may have gone wrong here it was working fine and it just stock now on the vintage and and burn that light goes on but I see when I turn it on when I push it in the other side doesn’t turn on so I’m not sure what happened here.

If you unplug the foot switch cable can you still toggle the burn switch on the amp face?

I removed my SS's tube cage as well. Mine has the popping issue. When I have some space in my workshop that will be addressed.

Derek Herbst thanks for watching, I’ll probably get some tubes at some point soon.

I think the stock tubes in these amps are third rate.. good investment to upgrade.

Hmm, I have the same amp with the same rattle but it's the metal cylinder in the middle to the left of the cage. I tried twisting it and it doesn't do it as bad but it still does it.

Same, I thought it was those tube covers, but starting to think the tubes get old and make the noise. At some point I’m probably going to get fresh tubes. Let me know if you find out more Thanks!

@@RichTones yup, it's a tube going bad. Just bought the amp used. Pulled the cover and it still made the noise. Easy fix. I noticed when I touched the tube it would stop the noise. My friend suggested I switch the two tubes of the same kind before I replace it. He's knowledgeable on this stuff so I'll try it.

yeah def remove cage, i always do that on any amp
12AY7 in v4 cut the hiss
5751 in v1 gave me more headroom when gigging
put a real leather handle on, get rid of that rubber crap that will give out
    use tube rings

@richhoffman was there any issues after removing the cage

    • @RichTones
      @RichTones  3 роки тому +1

Thanks for watching! No issues and was not the cause of the rattling. Lots of people had similar issues and they all say the power tubes are in need of replacing. I do think it’s better to have the cage attached so you protect the tubes, and your hand when they get hot. But no known issues otherwise

    Ahhh...

Had to get an APC Voltage regulator for peace of mind too, thankfully it was affordable.
