Oh I wish Ken Miles could have lived to see this. And this was brilliant driving Joey Hand
Ernie the Attorney Algorri ken was born in 1918 pretty sure he would be dead anyways
No shit. Still wish he could have seen it.
Something tells me that his spirit was there with Joey in the passenger seat of the GT, telling him to press on.
@@drftr7735 well... He died when he got crashed while he was testing the next GT40.
@@v12ts.gaming Did he really? It wasn't just in the movie?
carroll Shelby would be proud to see this epic battle
So would Ken Miles.
And Miles
No because of BOP at his time the better car won. He would ashamed that they win because of the surpirior BOP.
Probably Ken Miles 💕 but they both more developed the GT40 to won the Le Mahns 1966💕
Yes , it’s like miles vs Bandini in lemans 1966
Ford just loves seeing a Ferrari in their rearview mirror... Way to bring it...
pffff.......So they have two moments in 40 years? Not to mention, the Ferrari is a true GT car. The Ford was a damn prototype. Shameful.
john ulmer shameful is not beating a Proto type.
Well that just shows how much you know about racing. Have good day.
Corvette won the GTE class in 2015... wth are you on about.
James Dolan Chevy has won 7 times almost 8 l
Somewhere from the great beyond, Ken Miles is smiling.
I'd like to thank Ford for the live stream, 24 hour, in car video that was coupled with the Lemans Radio FM broadcast and live chat. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Win or lose, they chose to take their fans along for a free ride. I couldn't find anyone else doing this. The in car video, of the final 1 hr & 40 min, with Muller at the wheel, is now blocked for WEC rights issues. It would be nice if Ford put up the last 15 minutes of the race. It's a drivers eye view of the Toyota drama and the staging of the won, won, won, 1-2-3 finish. I was a teenager when Ford won the first four. Nice to see them win again after 50 years. Maybe there's hope for the Leafs!
I agree, that was awesome. Best experience watching LeMans I've ever had without actually being there.
From what I understand, this is the ONLY other time they've raced there in 50 years, and won both times.
Les Wilcox n;
@@Pozer714 Well, they won four years in a row back in the sixties. 66, 67, 68 and 69. But they also won in 1980 with a M379B-Ford Cosworth. Not exactly a GT but still Ford.
@Infovest Corvette wins more than Forsx Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, or Aston Martin, so... lmao
He should have been named "Joey Foot", the way he's stepping on that thing.
Ted Rolle Hes called Joey Hand cuz he slapped the shit outta that Ferrari..
@MATS Channel Well played.
I was like “What an odd comment...that’s a bit of a stretch...” then I saw the drivers name.... 😂🤣😂🤣
Lol. Nice comment.
Big Foot was in that car ;)
I could listen to this all day. Music to my ears.
Same coming from a guy who likes the covette. Didn't know this car existed till the 68 (66 IMSA) won Daytona. Nice car.
The GT sounds like a wet fart from the track side.
NEVER AS SWEET AS THE RSR !!!!😄😄😄😄😄
It sounds horrible
Man idk what you’re taking, v6 gt sounds like complete ass. Every other 6 cylinder Porsche sounds infinitely better. All Ferrari v8’s sound infinitely better, etc etc. ford dropped the ball on sound this generation.
When the camera switches to rear view 🇺🇸
Ford GT is made in Canada. 🏎🇨🇦 Designed in Detroit. Built in Markham, Ontario. North America FTW.
@@yohojones still an American car
@@yohojones American car
@@lr2127 ahh yes, an american car built from resources that never came from america while adapting racing car design principals created by europeans, the only american thing about that car was that the american company who owns its design took all the data that other people compiled and put it into a car and called it their own.
honestly, that really is as american as it gets!
@@unfortunately_fortunate2000 ah yes, late but who cares, let's use your logic mclaren isn't british because they use mercedes engines, iphone isn't american because they use some of smasung parts, acer and asus ig is american because they use American parts such as intel, windows and amd to power it, and also the battery
That ecoboost is so tightly wound it just whips- wonderful race sounds..
The Ford party was all set.
The GT 40 parade before the race, the victory, even the numbers on the cars (66, 67, 68, 69) had a lot to say. Just like 50 years ago, Ferrari was the one to beat, and they did.
This video shows the real feeling of the whole 24 hours... the chase, the pass, the triumph.
The scene totally reminds me of the 1971 movie "Le Mans"
His name is Hand but he knows how to put his Foot down! The most important pass since the Panoz spyder passed the mighty R8 for an American sports car win in the prototype class!
Yes ... Joe Hand is a great pilot but the problem is not here . let's have a jump in time . ACO decided restrictions for all the big V8 engines in 2000 ...10% horsepower less... So Everything was OK for an Audi victory and it was an impossible challenge for Panoz . Politics arrangements.....! Same kind of manipulations to make way for Ford and Ferrari in GT . The name of the movie ,this year , had to be "Ford and Ferrari ... the fight" ! 66 67 68 69 was Ford numbers as their victories years ... All that Comunication was well prepared with the BoP use for restrictions on Porsche , Aston and Corvette (5' more for a lap than in test day) .Aco are specialists in this domain ... remember the way Peugeot won the 24h ...they cut the "Hunaudières straight" and decided 1000kg and 45 l/100 for group c cars in front of 750kg and 75l/100 for SP Cars like Peugeot in 1991 ...Very Very strange regulations ....! (finally 8 cars in the last chpt race !!!!! and only 28 cars for le Mans in 1992 !!!!!) .We can find many examples of this kind of "protectionism" in Le Mans story ... don't you remember how they prohibited 7l engines and then 5l engines on prototype cars to make way for Matra in 1968 1969 1970 1971 1972 ......Don 't Forget ... Le Mans is for sure a great race but before all a WINDOW DISPLAY .
Great breakdown of all the bs that has been going on with the ACO. But when the rules work in your favor just go for the ride and enjoy the victory because you know the rules will change. The rule are currently in favor of these hybrid monsters, so a gas engine doesn't stand a chance. The glory days are long gone. I just watch old race videos and long for the good ole days.
The snake is hunting the horse.
Definition: Carroll Shelby's ancestor car hunting down Ferrari.
that GT just cuts through the wind like a surgical instrument.
The Ferrari didn't have the straightaway speed needed, plus Joey seemed to do more with what he had in the turns. Great run.
And repeat this for TWENTY FOUR hours only !!
Driver swaps though. Still an incredible feat regardless
don't know who was driving the Ferrari but hand destroyed him in every entrance
Yes, the Ferrari driver made a lot of mistakes with the driving line.
It was Matteo Malucelli, had Vilander been in the car, never would have happend. Vilander and Fisichella held the lead for over 10 hours over all 4 of the Fords...Mallucelli was simply overmatched by the driver Hand...not the car, the Ferrari was the better car, but 2nd in a one car private team against the full factory Ford and beating 3 of the 4 Fords wasn’t bad...
Ya, not really a shock since the bias rules allowed for this farmed out race car that wasnt on the road yet, to race in the 2016 event... FFS 50th anniversary bought and paid for by FORD
Probably the pressure getting to him
gabriel...2008, 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2019 Ferrari wins LeMans GT-PRO...18 total LeMans wins....hmmm, wonder where Ford was....jackass...
In the future when VR is as regular as television, it would be amazing to watch onboard shots like this.
I don't care how much you love V8s, no sane human being could deny that this engine sounds badass.
I do like V8's but I don't think I've ever heard a smoother sounding engine. It sounds like it's not even trying, it's just casually dicing it up with the lead car.
The sound is BEAST 3.5L twin turbo ecoboost V6 sounds just like it was from the old e40 m3 CSI :O
what an ugly sound ...this ecoboost engine !
Indeed. I LOVE the sound of the ecoboost in this car. Sounds so BA...
I hate v8 bruh
Oh, my, the sound of the motor and the shifting! ♥️
6:50 absolutely awesome how the Ford GT pulls on the Ferrari here.
Thought the same. Joey put more power down accelerating through that "S" curve... front never lost grip, back didn't wiggle, perfectly balanced chassis through both weight transitions... all under power... the Ferrari just didn't have it.
👍🏻🇺🇸👌🏻CHEERS
@@nigelmcphearsonletsgobrand9247 you don't know shit
Geno Geno how all of what he said was true, the driver was confident with the weight shifting because of how naturally balanced the car is front to back and held power through the whole sector
@@umg8356 he only overtook because the Ferrari driver was bad at what he did
@@genogeno7289 just remember Ford will forever haunt Ferrari end of story dont be a sad panda because both car and driver were out performed by a Ford gt with a 3.5L V6 twin turbo I wonder was that a V8 or a v10 in that Ferrari either way out performed
Great driving, Joey!
Fantastic power to Weight ratio, and one hell of an amazing aerodynamics
Taylor C and at the time it was a prototype racing against mass production models.
Winning is winning, it doesn't matter if its a "prototype" or not (even though it genuine isnt), Ferrari fanboys here bouta make this and that bullshittery
Man, it's fun to watch how crazy fast LMP1 cars are, passing GT cars.
50 years later they did it again haha
I’m still beyond devastated that Ford canceled this program unbelievable.
They were following their plan, it was already said it was for a few years since that was what they wanted for the program, t follow the heritage of the car just like in the past
Nice sound, but also nice car, the Ford GT is so beautiful !!
The Ferrari ain't got shit on the Ford👍🏼
This engine obviously works, but it has a bug like sound to it. I love the sound of a V8.... That nasty V8 in the 60s cars.
Not sure if you already knew this but the Ford GT here is a twin turbo V6. I was shocked when I found this out.
Honestly, i feel ya brother. Wish they put a Voodoo or Coyote in there. But hey, it works.
@@nobodyyouknow1601 - This GT was actually designed around the engine for lighter weight and better aerodynamics. You could not just put in a V8 either as the body would have to be redesigned. I watched the Ford GT thump the mighty Corvette C-7R finishing 1st and 3rd at my home track in 2019. Two weeks later it placed 1st and 2nd at Road America - the big V8 Vettes were clearly outrun and outclassed by this 647 hp TT V6!
Ferrari peasant: History doesn’t repeat itself
Ford: Hold my beer
The Ferrari was bleeding time to the Ford for the entire video, but that back end stepping out on him at 5:20 was what lost him the position
I'll never buy another Ferrari again. JK, I can barely afford my Honda as it is lol
Buy used my friend. Got an RX8 on a deal. Some new disc brakes, suspension alignment and an O2 sensor replacement later, it's riding like new.
@@juanmanuelpenaloza9264 RX8 is fun in the short term, but don't keep it long. That rotary is a nightmare when it comes to reliability, oil consumption, and maintenance. When it goes, it will cost a pretty penny to fix.
@@Viper3048 my brother has one and it's been repaired more times than my wife's 16yr old Civic. It's not like he neglects the car, he takes care of it, but always some issue with oil and catalytic converter. But it's a cool car.
Love the way this eco-boost V6 sounds 😍
let's go Ford. Amazing job
Every 50 years Ford comes back just to remind the Europeans who is really the king of the track.. lol Gotta love it!!
O'Keen Or maybe it is the other way round where Americans need 50 years to find a way of beating the Europeans on track...!? Kidding! Of course, Americans are ALWAYS the best. Everybody knows...
@@ludwigjacquier9038 eeh wouldnt say so
maybe it takes 50 years for them to finally do so
@@lorenzoabanes6351 50 years of no racing and experience and how exactly aren't Europeans getting better when they have 50 years of building racing and experience ? What's your argument there ?
@@raionshishi8290 money
50 years later, still great and even though Im a Ferrari fan its amazing to see the battle with Ford, even if we lost it.
7:06 Helicopter goes..."welp Ford just threw the L to Ferrari...andddd were outta here."
Unforgettable moment . I remember exactly where is was . Loved it . Ford power.
Legendary! 🇺🇸
At 6:04 Ford says
SEE YA!
Miles: Alright...let's do this again.
After passing him "THATS IT COME ON!!"
that's just incredible driving on both teams' part!!!
Un saludos a todos amigos desde México!!!
“The perfect lap”
They should put 360 cameras in the cabins of the cars
thanks for sharing. great video!
man! the LMP1 cars are fast af... as if the GT cars are standing still... :O
SRS Productions ikr
puloto bats
These guys are so smooth. great driving.
FORD number 1 baby I will never get tired of that sound
Those lmp1 speed is madness..
Some things never change
Met him @ Sebring 2013... Great driver & nice guy !
Other BMW drivers, were teasing him about his Crash @ Mid Ohio..
This is so intense, i can barely breathe while watching
Superb driving.
this V6 sound is so good, omg!
I’m sad we won’t be hearing this anymore
"Come on, that's my girl that's my girl."
Caroll Shelby and Ken Miles, I think these belong to you 🏆🏆
Everyone gangster until the Ford GT pulls up to lemans. And then it becomes a battle for second!
The transmission is amazing
This is awesome... me smiling the whole video! Way to "Hand" it to him, Joey!
wait a second this is wholesome content
Best 9:15 minutes I've spent in a long time. Just great, Thanks
now Joey Hand can drive!!!.......shifts are spot on!..... absolute domination!.......
hi! do you know any channel for watch 6h of nurburgring? thanks!
I’ve gotta Hand it to Joey, that was some solid driving there.
i see what you did there
killed ferrari again good job FORD
0:48 The sound makes it feel fast but the 919 hybrid just flies by
yea but the ford still won the le mans.. 1st place! take that Ferrari and Porshe!
coronapounder Overall victory was of course the 919 but the Ford GT won in in GTE Pro.
coronapounder no........ the Ford won its class, not overall
Landon Bierfreund Not bad for the first year racing after their return..
So I guess this is what they say
"History repeats itself like a ripple"
And since 1966 ferrari still hasn't beaten ford in straight line speed. Carroll Shelby would be proud
This neat low grunt the car has somehow never gets boring haha
hard to believe ford built the most beautiful looking machine ever built
“LOOK MAMA I’M GOING FAST!”
To everyone who complains about the sound of the engine... Or it being a V6 rather than a V8...
... You know what the best sound is?
The sound of the cork popping out of your bottle of champagne, and the sound of the champagne you are spraying hitting the 2nd and 3rd place drivers, because you just won the race.
Pretty sure hearing the track announcer yelling in French "FORD WINS LE MANS AGAIN WITH THE NEW GT" is much, much more important than the sound of the exhaust.
I dont get why everyone talks down on bop. It makes such great racing. Imsa, wec, and gt3 races are some of the best races i ever see and they are all bop.
@APVX - They talk it down because the just plain don't understand it! It makes for much closer racing which is always more desirable than one car disappearing from all the others.
The Ford's entry speed at the corners is much faster than the Ferrari.
Who’s driving that Ferrari up ahead of joey hand in the ford GT complete with the onboard camera battling for the lead
Joey walking away! Excellent driver!
Great rear view camera...backing up
Incrível vídeo, minha nossa uau f#d@ pra car@lho! adorei isso!
Speed and handling are only part of this race, but it's pretty satisfying to see Ford overtake Ferrari on the track besides the 24 hr. Endurance aspect. For sure, for sure, lol.
Ferrari had to press out of panic after this pass, And ended up spinning out.
Wow! That's awesome!!
whats this thing got in it, a briggs and stratton?
The car sounds so cool...
Add-ons:
The original Ford Chicane before the Pit Straight was added in 1968.
Bypassing Maison Blanche (White House) with the Porsche Curves in 1972, was a no-brainer, too.
i bet the dude in the Ferrari sweating bullets and that v6 sounds crazy
He really HANDed it to Ferrari
This is a thing of beauty the way the way the gt driver reeled him in and made his move... the Ferrari had nothing for him didn’t even put up a fight!!
that was awesome!!!!
I remember this pass like it was yesterday. V6 whipped up on that V8
Ford v Ferrari is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Didn't realize how important Ken Miles was in the victory in 1966.
SaaWEEta
Love the camera copter getting left behind also.
well that all red Ferrari 488 looks amazing
Man that GT sound great....
Just like old times
the pass happens at 06:06
it's 1966 all over again, the more things change, the more they stay the same. 50 years later a Ford GT beating a Ferrari at Le Mans....who woulda thought ??
My favorite car
as a Mopar enthusiast. I approve👏
That point where the red car decided that the GT wasn't going anywhere, pass friend. Joey nailed it.
