Spot on - the best camera is the one that best suits the use you have in mind. A depressing percentage of reviewers simply don't seem to understand that. Great work!
That's right and that's why the Pocket 3 is my best camera ever, I've waited this for years! now I will be able to make the videos that I got in mind without a A7S + gimble that I could be able to use! :)
Nicely done! One of the best explanations! Almost like if an urban and potential cinematic use: OP3, outdoors (hiking et al) OA4. Neither for any work where you want to zoom in.
Do you know if I can connect two wireless microphone? I am talking about the one that you are using not the first generation. I don’t want to add any USB receiver connection.
Hey, great comparison. Ive owned the Osmo Pocket (original), sold it for a Insta360 Go2 then rebought it as I missed it so much. I then traded it for an Action 3 but have since decided the Pocket form factor is the one I need and it has now, finally, been ordered. Now I'm tempted to keep both the Pocket 3 and Action 3 😂. Not sure I'll ever personally reach for the Action though(!). Anyhow. New subscriber here! Keep up the good work.
I have both the action4 and the Pocket 3 and I am using the P3 a lot more. But the action camera is a great action camera and as long as I use it for what is designed, I get great results. Plus it is really small, and waterproof!! The P3 is not waterproof, so that alone, to me, justify keeping it.... But that's just me.. Welcome to the club!
The Action 4 is good enough for most people. It's got wider fov than the Pocket 3. The stabilization is better. The background is in focus, and there is no learning curve. The only reason you would choose a Pocket 3 over it, is if you absolutely need the best image quality, and are doing night time vlogging. Otherwise for most, the Action 4 is probably good enough, and also a lot more affordable.
You have some valid views. Like I say in the video, some will prefer one look over the other and viceversa and neither one is superior to the other. We’re all different! 👍👍 do you have an action 4 yourself?
Advice needed! I am a drummer looking to upgrade my studio setup. I'm in a limited space with ambient lighting and I want a multi-camera setup to film the kit and also do vlogging style content mostly from within that room. I would love to be able to make first-person content as well as talk into the camera, and I need a camera that can handle the fast motion of drumsticks in a fairly low light environment, as well as be wide enough to capture the whole room. Audio is not important as I have a separate mic setup. Anyone have thoughts?
Good informative video, but I think you could have explained better the cons of stabilization for the action 4. You speak of sharpness, contrast and saturation, but I think it's more practical to say the reason it usually doesn't stabilize all too well on low light is because you're forced to lower shutter speeds in order to get the right exposure. And digital stabilization doesn't work at lower shutter speed because it introduces motion blur. And ND filters have nothing to do with why digital image stabilization doesn't work. It's more the reason WHY you'd use ND filters. Exactly, to be able to use lower shutter speeds in full daylight and not get overexposed footage, in addition to getting that cinematic motion blur. The only way to fix this is to use a gimbal, or only film static shots where you aren't physically moving and causing vibrations. I agree with you that for the action 4, using the gyro data is impractical and actually kind of bs, as it only works on certain settings. OR, which is what I decided to do... just accept the digital 'non cinematic' look of high shutterspeed video. At least it is stabilized that way 🤷♂️

This review is remarquable. Thanks a lot. I just receive the pocket 3 and it's fantastic... So much that i will buy the action 4 to my sport filming... I will become a dji fan... Or maybe the action 5 ? Is somebody has an Idea when dji could change the action ? 😊
Thanks for the feedback! The action 4 is only a few months old. It could be in the summer or even later. It seems gopro didn’t put DJI under pressure with their new camera so DJI might not be in such rush. Nobody knows…
@@SamuelSotiega Ok Samuel, thanks! It's not really important , I'm not in rush too, I got already an action cam in 4K so... :) But I know that I will buy this action 5! Have a very nice end of 2023 and rendez-vous in 2024 for your 50.000 subscribers! ;) Cheers from France. Michael.
Pocket 3, any time! The Action 4 will overheat within 15 minutes (guaranteed) and you’ll be done for the evening/ night. No overheating issue with the P3. The P3 in low light is infinitely superior, and you can also kiss good bye to the stabilisation on the action 4 in low light. The P3 will crush the action 4 in the environment you plan to use it, any time, any day. I know by experience too having used both on a project in a nightclub.

Thanks so much!

Thank you Samuel for this in-depth review. I have both camera and now that I have the option to do it all.
I am so glad to hear that! You got 2 really good little cameras!
I think they both good to use…getting both is still less than getting a Sony camera like the ZV-1 and a gimbal, but these DJI are much more compact.
I think you might be right!!
