It’s been freezing everywhere I’ve been and the gimbal has been wonky a lot. Plus if I put in a pocket without the case, I’m afraid I’m roughing it up too much. Also, I’ve noticed that since it doesn’t look like a typical camera, it can alarm some people when you “whip it out”. I pulled it out of my pocket in front of a Scottish parliament building and I startled a nearby security officer. He nearly unholstered his gun because he thought for a second it was a weapon! Also I noticed something ethics-wise when filming in public. Some people don’t like when they are being filmed incidentally in a public space. That’s typical and probably a fair use/gray area thing. But in London, I noticed some people covering their faces or actively, trying to avoid it. Like ducking and diving but mostly they would just cover their faces with their hands or by using an object they were carrying. I then found out that undocumented immigrants are afraid of getting caught on camera because there are actual cases where some individuals had been observed in the background of videos and that lead to their deportation. When I saw them doing this and realized what was happening I felt kind of bad. I don’t think I should stop filming in public but that did raise some questions for me
Hello Coop, I was really intrigued when I saw the amount you wrote. First off, I used it in the cold 🥶 in Seoul since I purchased it and I hadn't noticed any issues whatsoever. I have had times when people don't seem to be receptive, but it's more rare.
@@TravelingAhn Hey Adam, I'm back in the States now. The gimbal was still kind of wonky so I recalibrated it and change the motion setting from "slow" to "default" and that seemed to fix the issue I was having. As for the police officer, I can't blame him. I was pulling out of horizontal coat pocket which was near my chest so I guess it could have looked like I was pulling a gun from a holster (in front of a Scottish Parliament building), and the weird shape of the Osmo 3 might have thrown him off a bit. But all he did was put his hand on his gun, he froze and watched me for a couple of seconds before realizing I was just a dumb tourist with a camera, then he instantly went back to his "at ease" stance. I was more careful about it after that. I never have problems with filming people in public it in the States. Although I saw a UA-cam video today where some Chinese nationals threatened a British UA-camr for (incidentally) catching them in public in London because they said it was illegal if it was without their permission, which might be true in China, but not in the UK or the US. It got ugly and the police got involved. Hopefully it had a positive resolution for the UA-camr. I only noticed a few people actively covering their faces or quickly moving out of the way when I was filming, but they never said anything to me. I decided not to concern myself about it too much. I wasn't filming commercially anyway, only personally and that was obvious so it shouldn't have been an issue.

Jeff, you have the Pocket 3 and have used it yet 😂 It's such a fun camera and you definitely will see the improvements from the Pocket 2! You gotta get familiar with it for those upcoming trips! Thank you for the support as always!
My opinion : If you want to vlogging, style videos, face cam alone with tracking etc... is pocket 3. If you have to vlog AND to do sport videos but you cannot buy the 2 cameras, let's go to the DJI action 4. If you're not a careful person, take action 4 too. And if you can buy both, don't hesitate! :) The pocket 3 is so perfect and fun that it's the only camera that makes me want to make videos, before it I dragged my feet with the others, to complicated to have a good image, and too heavy, not funny at all... -> (for Reference -> I have the pocket 3 for 3 weeks and another action cam , I will buy the DJI action 5 when it will be there in summer 2024)
😂...Yeah, I think I"ll be upgrading with each new iteration! I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion! It was definitely the Pocket 3 that got me finally motivated to try to do UA-cam again 👏. Looking forward to your next video!
@@MichaelSouverainexactly same thoughts. I have go pro 8 and was thinking of getting action 4 until pocket 3 launched. Now thinking of getting pocket 3 creater combo and then get action 5. Only worries is if action 5 comes with 1 inch sensor then pocket 3 would be waste for me 😂😂
Ronin, I think the 1 inch sensor will be great for Action 5, but the Gimbal really keeps the Pocket head shoulders above the Action when it comes to getting smooth video. But that's why I love having both 😂
@@TravelingAhn in my country pocket 3 is nearly 900 usd so flying to Thailand and might pick up there for 650 I guess. Are night videos really that sharp? I have been seeing many videos and some I felt that it's not that sharp at night viewing on my Sony 4k hdr 10 plus TV. I could also use action 4 at half the price. There is nosie in extreme dark conditions with pocket 3
Dude, congrats - You've reached over 1k subscribers... man, I can't take just one camera with me when I travel. I need my action 4 when i go to the beach or do some fun activities. I need my mirrorless cam when i take food selfies hehe. I need my insta360 X3 for fun videos to post on social media. I don't a pocket 3 yet but I have a pocket 2. Not really a vlogger but i like to easily switch to selfie mode when I'm walking around taking videos of places.

The suspense at the end was killing. But even though I agree, for me it would have to be changed to the Action4. When I travel to Spain and go in the water to video the fish on the reef, that is one thing that amazing Pocket can't do. But why should I worry, I have all of them including the Drones. Now the best travel one is the mini4pro. So quiet that people outside don't look up, when it is only a short distance above them. Must start posting more videos myself otherwise you will overtake my subscribers amount. Best Dave
😂...sorry for the suspense! Thanks Dave for you continued support, I really appreciate it! I didn't know a drone could be so quiet!!!! As you know, it's definitely on my radar! Yes, keep posting...but not because I'll pass you...I've got quite awhile 😂
Great video, Adam. I'd personally still recommend an action cam for most people as the first step up from their cell phones even though the Pocket 3 is the reining GOAT for travel cameras overall. I will definitely be looking hard at the Action 5 this summer/fall. It will definitely be good to have the same menu system in your "Pocket" camera and in your "Action" camera. By that time, Hero 13 will have been released and we'll be able to compare the two. What are you looking at purchasing next? Technically for me, it should be a drone but I'll have to figure out the laws I need to adhere to before hand.
Thanks Tim~ Yeah, the Pocket 3 is the GOAT, just like Jordan is the GOAT 😂 I don't think I would ever consider GoPro because of the bulky adaptor they make you purchase to connect a receiver. DJI creating their products where you don't have to connect a receiver was a true game changer. Good question on the next product 🤔..... I would say the next one for me too is a Drone. However...the idea of selling the ZV-E10 and upgrading to a full-frame in mighty tempting 😂 Drone laws in Korea are can be a bit limiting on where you can fly. But getting a Mavic Air is the one that doesn't require a license, but I think we still have to follow the drone rules in the end.
@@TravelingAhn Yeah. Full frame would be nice, but I'm also re-thinking the A6700. I see that full frame lenses are much heavier and I see a lot of people using APS-C lenses with it because of that. Maybe even an E10 mark ii if they release on this summer. Lots of things to look forward to this summer!
I love my pocket three so much that I’m actually considering selling my Sony ZV1 to get another pocket three as a back up. Lol! Maybe that’s completely crazy. Seriously though, this is a great video! I think you should do a revisit of this once you’ve had some more time with the action five to do a complete complete comparison between the pocket 3 and the action five with numbers score! This is terrific. Love the elephants! So cool!
Thanks for checking out the old video! Yeah, that was a fun one to do for sure! I like having the mirrorless for dedicated talking heads, so gotta hold onto my Sony ZV-E10. Good idea on doing an update for the Action 5 vs. the Pocket 3!
@@TravelingAhn yeah my tiny Sony ZV1 is great locked down on a tripod or with very minimal movement. Looks pretty much as good as the pocket with its 1” sensor, Sony colors and autofocus are great, fun for stills too, but stabilization on moving videos is horrible. Lol. I’ll probably keep it just for talking head stuff, handy when I launch my revised UA-cam. Then you can improve my algorithm! Lol! 😂 ♥️
I had the DJI Action cam, and loved it. Sad I lost it. I got the DJI Pocket 3 but something was wonky with the gimbal, it got stuck in the up position, Best Buy did exchange it for me so now I'm testing it out a bit.
Oh no~~~so sorry to hear you lost your Action 4 😢 But I'm glad Best Buy did you a solid and replaced your Pocket 3 👏 Did you purchase the DJI Care Refresh? I definitely did because of the gimbal! That's so cool that you are a travel agent!
@@TravelingAhn I had the DJI Action 1, the first one. It such a fun little camera. I signed up for the DJI Care Refresh plan this morning. Shot a vlog on it with my other channel, need to edit and see what I think. The gimbal does take some getting use to so hope it's alright. I do love what I am seeing. Being a travel agent has its fun days and some odd days lol.
Well done! I would probably go with the OA4 though, simply as for most of my usage the background is often more important and frequently in environments where you need weather protection. And it’s just tougher…but I can see for others that may not matter as much. As you note, both would be great. I do think the OP3 can largely replace the need for any other cameras though, more so than the OA4. You could have recorded this video on it for example and it would have been almost as good.
Just came across your channel and really enjoyed this video. I've got both the Action 4 and have the Pocket 3 on order. Hello, I'm thankful that you found this video beneficial for you! Yeah, Action 4 is definitely the camera to go with to ensure your background is in focus!
Thank you Rene 🙏 You pose a tough question 😂 I would say 1) Give the Action 5 a 1 inch sensor. 2) Make the Lens easily replaceable or better yet interchangeable. 3) Have the battery flap be magnetic so you don't have to put the bulky case around it. Hope that helps answer your request 😀
@@TravelingAhn Thanks for the info. I'm going on a big trip in November and I will wait till then to either buy/rent the Action 5 if it exists or the Action 4. At this point the Pocket 3 and iPhone 15 Pro combo fulfills my needs. I agree the Pocket 3 has fun factor to the MAX. The Pocket 3 is also a conversation starter. A lot of people just ask, what is that thing? LOL I put the Pocket 3 in my pocket every time I leave the house even if I'm not planning on filming anything. the Action 4 is half price of the pocket 299 vs 599, so i feel like the Action 4 is best bang for you buck, plus if one accidently drop either one, the Pocket weak gimbal portion may take a bigger damage

: For handsfree vlogging pov shots On head mount/ chest mount. but best in low light ( forest area, early morning hikes ) Ace pro or action 4? Thank you 🙏
That's a great question, I do not own the Ace pro, but what I've seen on reviews it does really well in low light. They both have the same size sensor, but the action for offers 10-bit over 8-bit with Ace pro. I would choose the action for only because I have the DJI mic 2
@@TravelingAhn Great! For a beginner in vedio editing softwares, between DJI mimo app n insta 360 app... which would be more hassle free? @@iamearthbeing yeah I usually just off put my video straight to my computer and then edit them via final cut pro. I'm not too familiar with editing direct from the apps. But DJI mastered the experience with connecting the mimo app to the device!
I agree. But sport cameras like osmo action is more pratical and easy of use and we are not afraid of damaging the gimbal. I own pocket cameras since the first one and I am kind of surprised that I choose most of the times the osmo action because of the praticality of it. But of course when I explore abandoned places os some places that we can film with care and slowly and I need better quality and filming in low light I choose the pocket.

@@TravelingAhn I work for it. 😀
Every video of yours keeps me buzzing
Thank you so much Dave for your all too kind words 🙏 I really appreciate your continued support!
Hi thanks. Where is the link for the small blue selfie stick you used in the gym for the action 4?
Wow, that's a great question. I apologize. I don't know where I got that one from.
Another banger video Adam-putting these cameras to the ultimate test
Markoe my man, very much appreciated as always!
Adam, another excellent video. Really, you have the best review for the Pocket 3! Hands Down👋
Antonio, thank you so much 😊 I guess after making 39 videos with or about the Pocket 3, I've become an expert so to speak 😂
Very nice 😊, yeah even on my current travels I brought the Pocket 3, Action 4 and ZV-E10 😂 I mean, we need to have versatility right! Thank you for your continued support, I always appreciate it!
Adam, I don't say it enough, but now that I've done some video editing and I remember how time-consuming it is, I want to congratulate you because your video editing is dynamic without being too busy, it's just what's needed. I'm just wondering how you manage to make such complete videos and edit them every day? It takes me a day just to edit them!
Yeah, I appreciate it that so much Michael ❤️ I suppose it's the idea of "Repetition is the Mother of all learning" 😂 But, I'm glad you think my editing is decent! I actually feel like my editing is really bad 😳, when I compare myself to others. So you compliment is very heartwarming!
@@TravelingAhn "You should never compare yourself to others. To do so is to insult yourself" Bill Gates. Ok yes Bill is not a reference! 🤣But This sentence is good :)
😂, Excellent point!!!! Thank you for this reminder!
The Pocket 3 is so clutch for sure! That Action 4 though is great too though! Youre defintely lucky to have BOTH!😆🙌🏾
Thanks Anthony 🙏! I suppose I am blessed for sure having both 😂
Excellent review my friend as always! I'm on the fence about buying the Action 4 but like you say, having that AND the Pocket 3 together could be awesome! Planning a trip this summer to London and think having the Action4 too will be ideal!
Hello Steve, for sure the Action could serve well! With as much rain as London gets, it might behoove you to travel with something waterproof! Thank you for the kind words and supporting the channel with your comments, I always appreciate it!
you may have talked me into it sir! lol...dji is going to have me go broke! lol...thanks again for all of your videos and help. i could use pointers on creating content like you....do you ever offer that or in video form?@@TravelingAhn
Steve, thank you for the compliment 🙏 haven’t really thought of doing anything like you suggested. It certainly is something to think about suppose!
you're very welcome. yea, just a thought. i am trying to learn these cameras and the process of youtube creation ..lots to learn sir. thanks again! @@TravelingAhn
Nice comparison! Really cool to hear your thoughts. Great insights, love the fun factor! 👏🔥
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, really appreciate it!
Yeah, I've seen some videos talk about choosing the APS-C over Full-Frame. But the idea of having really crisp night videos is really appealing!
Lol! 😂 ♥️
@@babyboy1971 For sure!
Yeah, it's going to be a great camera for you as you use it for reviews of places you stay!
Great video! Great comparison! I really look forward to seeing your new videos. Crazy how many you’re putting out😮

I'm back again. AGREE!
Thank you Ja!
I’m Loving the pocket 3
That's awesome, it is such a fun factor camera 😂
Very True! I appreciate your thoughtful comments!
Just came across your channel and really enjoyed this video. I've got both the Action 4 and have the Pocket 3 on order. I love my A4 and recently took it around Switzerland and got some amazing work out of it. Can't wait to use the Pocket 3.All I need to do now is do some more traveling 😀.Have you made any videos on the best settings for this camera?

Hello, I'm thankful that you found this video beneficial for you! Yeah, Action 4 is definitely the camera to go with to ensure your background is in focus!
Great video, Adam! What are the top three things you would like to see improved in the Osmo Action 5 based on your experience with the Action 4?
Are you planning on buying a second DJI Mic 2 or one of the DJI Mic 2 kits for your DJI cameras? I would love for you to make a video of your editing process. I currently edit my videos with Luma Fusion on both my iPad and iPhone and love it.
Wow Rene, editing on an iPad and iPhone, that's crazy 😜 I would think the Action 5 will be out before November assuming DJI comes out with a new iteration.
And yes, I am planning on adding a 2nd DJI Mic. I want to get the case and the accessories, but not sure how much all the individual purchasing of each item makes sense or is cheaper. I hav the DJI Mic gen. 1 and will likely put that up for sale once I get back from travels.
I'll put your idea request in my notes that I keep for future videos! Thank you for the support of this channel! I see you've a few videos up on yours. Are you planning on posting more?
@@TravelingAhn I am probably going to get an extra DJI Mic 2 or the kit with the receiver and one transmitter. If I do that I will sell my Rode Wireless GO II kit. I have a few different channels. I am going to Greece and Italy and bringing a Canon XA70, my pocket 03, and my GoPro 12, i am trying to figure out how to utilize them, still not quite sure, so far i got the GoPro for all dining vids and the pocket 3 for most ruins, I'm just not sure how to use the Canon, that has a 1" sensor also... any thoughts?
Thank you for your kind words! Yeah, the Canon could be used for the static shots and the talking heads!
Great to watch your enthusiasm well done .Keep filming and God bless
Thank you again for your support, I appreciate you! You keep filming your chauffeur passion!
I have both cams with gopro 11, insta360 ace pro. In traveling i use them all 😂
Woah~~~ I’m very interested to ask which one you favor most!?
the Action 4 is half price of the pocket 299 vs 599, so i feel like the Action 4 is best bang for you buck, plus if one accidently drop either one, the Pocket weak gimbal portion may take a bigger damage
Hello Trong, you make a very compelling point for those who want to choose which camera to purchase! I think in 4-5 months they will debut Action 5, so getting the Action 4 at a discount is a great option!
You left out the stabilization category. The Action 4 wins hands down. Heres an idea for your next video. Compare the 2 cams.
Hello there, I'm curious as to why you believe that the Action 4 wins over the Pocket 3? I have already compared the two cameras on stabilization with both daytime and evening shots

Ace pro or action 4?
Thank you 🙏
That's a great question, I do not own the Ace pro, but what I've seen on reviews it does really well in low light.
Just transfer easily from the memory card, make few adjustments and then post it, without sitting infront of the screen for hours.
Like do everything on phone only without the laptop.
@@iamearthbeing yeah I usually just off put my video straight to my computer and then edit them via final cut pro. I'm not too familiar with editing direct from the apps. But DJI mastered the experience with connecting the mimo app to the device!

know the G-force on eh plane will push the camera past the limits. did that get shown in an airplane on take off if hte gimbal can handle it
😂😂😂
Hello Helderhugo, Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback 🙏. For sure, the Action 4 is definitely a fun camera to use and the other day it was raining on my travels, so I literally filmed the whole vlog on the Action 4 (will post later). Thank you for continuing to support the channel!

@@TravelingAhn you’re welcome man and yes if I had to pick ONLY one, I’d take the pocket 3. It’s high quality video, stabilization, better in low light, and a gimbal all in a tiny package. Once one of these come out with “water resistance “ it’s going to be perfect.

As long as you are not planing on going out in the rain, or diving on your travels =D

@@TravelingAhn but I do get it, the pocket 3 has much better image quality. but the ruggedness and practicality of a action camera is unbeatable, mainly if you are going to carry only one camera with you! Ideal scenario is to have both of them =D
That is what on my mind. Pocket 3 does have limitations and so fragile. I have the pocket 3, but the action 4 is so tempting as well. Im not sure if i can have both, but buying the action 4 will make ne selling off the pocket 3 (which i might totally regret).. uurrggghhhh..!
