If I buy the watch with my own money, then yes, I do care about the design and the build quality. Currently owning 3 different Seikos, 2 G-Shocks, 1 Edifice, 1 Breitling Avenger and some other microbrands, still my most favorite and my most valuable watch is my Tommy Hilfiger watch given to me by my wife 🤣
That always adds value!
Yes emotional value, but it's still a shit watch (no offense)
I have an old Fossil, my wife bought me. Switched the strap two times, fully scratched and wore it, until it didn't worked anymore. Even tried to have it serviced. It's always different, when it was a gift.
Chinese watches are my go-to for looks and performance in one cheap price
That's great, my wife studied my collection of citizen, casio and orient watches, and I end up with a citizen promaster skyhawk blue angels edition. It's one of my favorite watches, even if it is on a bigger side.
The sentimental value is the most important. 👍👍👍
I’m not a fashion watch fan, but Fossil has a small place in my collection. I was fascinated with watches as a kid, and when I joined the Army in 2001 and got that first adult paycheck, I bought a Fossil because everyone I knew had one. I loved it, and still have it. It’s a fossil Arkitekt that’s about 22 years old now. I don’t wear it anymore because a new battery only seems to make it work for a few weeks now, and it falls off time almost 5 minutes+ a day when it is working. But I still keep it, just because it started this fun hobby. On a side note, I do enjoy the look of the watch and how outdated and small it is, but that was stylish in 2001. That’s why we call it a fashion watch.
I remember my uncle called my seagull 1953 a piece of crap because it was chinese. This is all the while he was rocking the tissot prx quartz. Great watch but it's a hype train
I just don’t see the attraction to the PRX it’s just ugly to me maybe it’s just to different from the Seiko divers I collect
@@Mark-sd7fc I like divers too. Imo, the PRX is clean but doesn't attract me as well. The seagull is so much more beautiful
Bro is the reason why I have a seiko 5 on my wrist rn
Just before I jumped in the watch enthusiast boat, I bought 3 Fossil watches at the outlets just because they were cheap. I regret that now but I can't get rid of them because they represent one of my first steps in the hobby.
The first watch I bought for myself was a fossil that I wore, almost exclusively, for about 10 years. At the time I wasn’t a self diagnosed watch obsessive. I still have it, and although I can’t see myself getting another fossil watch, it holds a very important place in my collection.
Fossils are great starting watches, just gift them away and proceed to your next watch
@@takethecurseOFFwashingmachinesame here, my first automatic was a fossil and it retains its place in my crowded watch box well. The watch still looks great

I get the most compliments on my skeletonized fossil watch. I may not wear them as often but I’ll never get rid of them.
@@Rogerdude899 that's fair, I personally don't like skeletonized watches but a lot of people do
Obviously, you don't want to overpay for a cheap watch because of the name on the face, and you also don't want one so cheap that it breaks. But at a certain point, I have to wonder if the hate for some "fashion watches" is unwarranted. I've had a Treehut and a Fossil for years that were both gifts, and besides replacing the batteries when they die, they've been flawless. They keep time accurately enough that I never need to adjust them. I'm sure they aren't perfectly accurate, but I'm not going to sweat over +/- a minute or 2 over a mylti-year period. So if it works, it's a design you like, and it's a price you're comfortable paying, I don't see the issue. With quartz movements, I feel like as long as they work, a watch is a watch. Yet people look down on brands like Fossil like it's something to be ashamed of owning/wearing. It's a sub-$100 watch, who cares?
Most people are ok with fossil. They just aren't considered watches for watch enthusiasts because of their price to performance ratio and specs. If I do want cheap tho, I could go chinese and get a great mecaquartz watch for under 30$
I wouldn't be invested in watches the way i am now if fashion watches didn't get my attention in the beginning. I don't wear my Festinas any more but i will never get rid of them.
Heritage is nice to have but it’s not necessary
Some great micro brands that are around 5 years old but still have very high quality watches are zelos and monta
I don’t think “fashion” watches care about how the design looks. 90% of them are god awful ugly
I bought a Fossil watch once. The hands fell off one day.
Bruh 😂
im sorry i laughed when i read this
lol that’s what you get
I have a Fossil that was my daily for about 6 years, still looks great
@@Ballin_clips I laugh at this whenever I come back to read the comments. 😂
I have had an AX watch for 12 years now. My mom got it for me at 18 and it still works fantastic so many years later. I wouldn't get another one but I am so glad this one still works.
To be fair, no watch is worth the price tag. You buy them because you like em. Not because it's cost efficient. Some "investment" pieces have different purposes as well.
Idk man, Casios are good for the cost
I have fashion watches. But if I have money i would defo buy AP, A Lange, PP, IWC, etc
Coach, Hugo boss, Tommy Hilfiger and more, all made by Movado
When in doubt just get a Seiko 5 🙌
Hey! I’ve seen lots of YT channels only talking about big companies, but what about audaz or wenger or something like that.
You know i love this channel. Great content as always.
Ive got to ask if ive never owned a watch should start with a quartz, hand wound, auto?
Like an the case of the prx just for conversations sake. I can get a quarts for like 250-300 now or the powermatic 80 for like 500-800. Im just say dreaming because im broke as hell but wonder whats what. Like if it was the cw12 that is the base model i understand the 1200$
Or like some Hamilton's are much cheaper as quartz. IDk whats what. Help me sensei lol
Get a Casio Enticer or Casio edifice or if you want to invest more, you can't go wrong with a Seiko 5. I have a Casio Enticer and I really really like the way it looks!
I have a 1980s Gucci watch and let me tell you it’s still holding strong
Saying they care about design is an overstatement.
The only "fashion" watches I respect are Movado/ESQ.
I would buy a Casio rather than an Armani watch.
I care about the movement in my crap watch so I checked the specs online to see what movement was inside. It said "Bowel Movement".
I like Gucci watches though.
either you shill fo rthe brand, or have a very weird taste. glad someoen likes them tho x)
cant include Gucci in this, they use high end swiss movements and also have an in house mechanical micro rotor caliber
I understand your honest intentions; but you should have chosen your words more carefully, 2 out of 3 red flags you stated were cheap and quartz movement, what about the f91w, dw500c, the royale?
It's the 21st century. People have cell-phones. Pretentious snobs have Fashion Watches.
Minecraft sound effects
I have an omega idk is it good
If it's real, it's a great watch brand
💯👍
First!
🥇
you look like the wait wait wait, no no no guy
A company that produces underpants and socks cannot make watches!
The patek nautilus in this vid is a fake 😅 it’s the same used by watch finder to show the difference between real and fake hahaha
the very first watch i bought was a fashion watch.
100 eur.
i took of the straps and left it on some stairs in town after realizing i was ripped of.
And Chinese Watch AVOID ... Just Garbage
