Isn't the Dmin6 you played technically a Bmin7b5?
I guess the two are harmonically identical if you consider the Dmin6 as a 3rd inversion.

Hi Jerome, thanks for stopping by. Yes, Dmin6 = Bmin7b5, the name depends on the bass note.

But I have one question:
Why do Gipsy Guitar Players completely downstroke a decending arpeggio?
Is it maybe the reason that it sounds different than sweeping the arpeggio? It feels a bit unnatural to me to completely downpick a decending arpeggio 🤔
Cheers Nico. The downstrokes while descending arpeggio is a must in gypsy jazz music. That's how you can achieve a powerful tone and a volume. You can sweep it, but it won't sound powerful since is against gravitation.
