I thought this was Tom Cruise's best performance. This is not in any way a slur on Cruise. He showed a different side of himself, and dare I say it, the boy has a bit of comedy in him!! Fun fact: Because Tom Cruise created one of Tropic Thunder's best characters, he demanded that his input be put in to the finished product, and he was willing to learn whatever it took to get the job done. I thought this was Tom Cruise's best performance. This is not in any way a slur on Cruise. He showed a different side of himself, and dare I say it, the boy has a bit of comedy in him!! I'm guessing it's due to the fact that he only had a small part and he didn't have to give a shit. They took away the looks and hair and replaced them with chubby hands! Brilliant!
Most of that was his idea when Ben pitched the idea to him.
