After looking at several videos, I decided to take it to the Jeep dealership, I just didn't want to deal with it. The mechanic told the service advisor that the bulb was not replaceable and they would need to replace the headlight assembly, quoted me $875 + tax. This was on a Saturday and apparently they only had one mechanic on.....I went to Auto zone, purchased the bulb for $24, followed your video and did it myself. It wasn't easy and I got some scrapes on my hands in the process, but I got it done. Needless to say, I'm going to give the service manager a piece of my mind tomorrow morning. Thanks for the great how to video!

I just did this on the passenger side of my 2020 Grand Cherokee ! I got quotes by the dealership $275 for labor to remove the bumper to change the headlight low beam bulb about 2 weeks ago. I found your video an hour ago and thought “he made it seem so easy. I think I can do it too.” Followed along with the video, took like 30 minutes to twist the bulb out, scraped my arm, took a few minutes to insert the bulb and wires back into the headlight, and I was done! I am so proud of myself! I’d usually ask my dad for help but he can’t physically assist because of medical issues and there was no one else but me. Thank you for posting this video!!

Well…..the O’Reilly salesman attempted to replace my low beam headlight but he could not get the old bulb to budge. Needless to say, that left me standing in the cold to figure it out myself😳 As usual, nothing in the manual so i went to UA-cam. You are right, it is tricky and that bulb was a bugger to loosen but I managed to get the passenger side replaced and functioning within 30 minutes. Afterwards, i read some of the comments….WOW‼️ Glad I landed on your video 1st‼️
NOTE: since i needed to replace one bulb, i opted to swap both halogen low beam bulbs with new LED light bulbs. Pricey alternative but i can definitely see the difference between the halogen versus LED. It’s a bright white beam that helps me see the road a bit clearer at night ( I rarely get to flip on my high beam). Thanks so much for your detailed video.

I have a 2017 and they don't appear to be replaceable. There is no harness for one of the bulbs as it's hidden in the housing somewhere. The low beam has the cover, but once you get it off, there is a shiny steel box attached to a shiny metallic braided line and this is not removeable. So, some of the jeeps require an entire headlamp replacement? Both my low and highs don't work on the driver's side.

@@classicrewind2715 Okay, update. Found out that the D3S HID's are replaceable, but you have to rotate a locking ring, not the ballast, but the locking ring holding the ballast in place. It is an OSRAM part that you can buy online or at the dealer and then replace it.

Connected new bulb and played doctor for a bit and used my sensory ability to make the bulb my hand and feel “by vibration” the bulb and get it in the hole/ holder position it sits. Thanks for this video. Passenger side light hard to twist out, finally got it, really hard to get it to the lock position so I let it sit to hit the driver side. Absolutley could not get the driver side twisted out from the bottom, had to go in from the top. Not hard, hood gasket clip that crosses over the outside air intake must be slid free, air filter and housing removed and the access to the light is managable. Removed the old and replaced with the new. After testing the lights I returned to the passenger side to see if I could twist it in and was able to get that last quarter turn (from the bottom, wheel well that is). Maybe because the light heated during the test and then cooled and it helped? Who knows. Total time about an hour and wayyy better than the $850 quote from the local Jeep dealer. Not all that bad, if the lights twisted in and out easier, I could have been done in 20 minutes. Recommend the bottom entry for the first attempt. Good luck P.S. maybe coat light connection with silicone spray or something for the next time?

Passenger side - I could not do this from the wheel well. I loosened the ECM unit and then removed the two 10 mm bolts from coolant reservoir and move it to the side a little. Here's another option that I know is heresy to many but take it to a dealer. With no appointment, they replaced my low beam on the passenger side on my 2018 GC in 30 minutes for $62 including tax. I didn't ask but kind of suspect that because this is a safety issue and dealers want to avoid issues of legal liability at all cost, they'll take care of you as soon as possible. Also I appreciate that saving $25-$50 may be important but frankly saving my sanity as well as skin on my knuckles was worth it.
