This was the only video that worked for our Jeep Grand Cherokee. The big difference is in the bulb type and the way it is held in place. Excellent video, thanks.
You’re welcome! Nice work!
Thank you! Well done. Best video work of any WK2 HID replacement video I've found. It's amazing what you can see with adequate lighting.
Appreciate it! That's my goal: try and make the best visuals possible so it is more manageable for anyone else trying it out. Cheers!
Excellent video! Your thorough example of what to do made it easy for me to replace my passenger side bulb.
I was actually able to reach the bulb with my right hand without having to move anything out of the way, so the whole process took about 5 minutes.
Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Good video and very good point about not touching the bulb with your fingers. The grease off your fingers can cause a hot spot and reduce bulb life.
Thank you for showing everything I wanted to do this without the help of my husband or dad and I did it on my own you explained it so well!!!
Nice job!!!! Way to go!
Just did ours on a 2016 limited. What a huge pain, especially if you have big hands. Your video helped tons. Thanks for posting.
You’re welcome!!
Having big hands made this a CHALLENGE but thanks to your video I did it. Thanks again
Amen to that! Engineers didn’t take us big handed folks into consideration! Cheers
Thank you for not being lazy, and showing everything
Glad the video was helpful!
Thank you. Had so much trouble because I couldn't figure out the twist on clip. Should have taken me 20 minutes. Took an hour and then I found your video...just needed that info. Appreciate the assist.
So glad it was helpful. Cheers!
Yes!!!!! the retaining clips were the trickiest for me too. This is the most helpful video on this job. And saved a few hundred bucks.
Thank you!!! Best video I have seen on this. You are an excellent demonstrator.
Glad it helped!!! Many more videos to come
Another excellent video. Thank you. Maybe you can help me out. My high beam lights don't go off. I have a 2012 5.7 grand Cherokee overland.
Thanks! A new video every week😊 I would look at the bulbs to ensure nothing looks wrong with them, then check the fuses and relays for the lights (your owners manual will show you which relate to the lights), check the voltage at the lights to see if changes occur when you use the high or low beams, and lastly it could be a bad steering column module.
Thanks, and you have a great light from Harbor Freight too
Thank you! I do find the light extremely handy, especially for $20 when it’s on sale. Cheers
Great video!
Hope it helps!
What an awesome video! What’s the year of your jeep? Mine is 2013 and the manual says H11 type of lamp. Does it really matter cause I don’t see “H11” on most of the lamps.
Thanks! This is a 2011. Your manual (here is 2013) should confirm what you need for your year: cdn.dealereprocess.org/cdn/servicemanuals/jeep/2013-grandcherokee.pdf
If I'm not mistaken, the 5.7 use HID bulbs.
excellent video was very helpful, but I'm trying to know or find out why to put turn signals or flashing lights does not sound the tic tac, do you have any idea? appreciate your help and thanks in advance greetings from chile
I have a jeep 2012 laredo 4x4
Try the flasher relay for the turn signal. It could be bad.
Thanks 🙏 ,, I had to subscribe…
Welcome! Thanks for subscribing!! Many videos to come!
What is the name of the metal prongs that hold the bulb??? Can I buy because mine are not holding the bulb
Have you tried slightly bending them? Don’t push hard but maybe a slight bend might help them hold.
Go with led
Hi and thanks for the video, really helpful... Quick question; it seems that you replaced the original Osram bulbs with Amazon Dmex bulbs. Are you satisfied with them? Read that some did not last, and even damaged the ballasts...
Hi Jean. I've had my lights running for over a year without a single issue. Not sure why other folks are having issues but I drive the Jeep daily and not issues whatsoever. Hope that helps!
Scratches all over the old bulb housing because you didn't push on the connector release clips on the electrical connector. On my 2011, 5.7; I didn't need to remove the air plenum, just the fliter housing and scoop. Well done though!
Thanks! I'm all for finding ways to make the job faster. Cheers
Thank you ❤
Glad it was helpful! Cheers
So I’m having an issue install new bulb driver side when I go to turn it on it flicks on then right off very fast and. Doesn’t work very weak also any ideas
Try switching your good passenger side bulb to the driver side. If you still have the same issue, something’s wrong with the ballast or wiring.
@@learnsavediy thanks man
Can I use D1S bulbs on my after Markey project beam headlight on my 2013 WK2 Laredo ?
The headlights I use here are aftermarket so from my experience I don’t see why not.
Will the black bulb work for this jeep? (The one that isn’t metal?) I have the same one but I chose the cheaper alternative of the bulbs and now I don’t know if it will fit because of those metal prongs
Hi, can you be more specific? What black bulb?
Amazing 🤩
I hope ANYONE watching this video realizes all you have to do is...................... Reach into the front fender well and there is a factory black plastic circle that you twist to remove and get directly to them!
Yep, either way works!
😂😂😂
Excellent video thanks
Glad it helped! Cheers
@@learnsavediy removed the old can I plug in the harness then install the bulb ?
@@lebaroncars Can you be more specific? I'm not understanding your question?
@@learnsavediy hi seems like you installed your bulb then plugged it in , I want to plug it in the harness then install ?
@@lebaroncars I see. You want to install the light and then the harness. Yes that should work fine either way
How can you tell if the jeep comes with HID vs other bulbs?
Refer to the owners manual. It will tell you the type of bulb your vehicle takes. Google the year and “Jeep owners manual” and the model of your car if you do not have access to it
Pain in the ass. I forgot to turn that lever clockwise after putting the lightbulb in. Great video tho.
I did start the tutorial with a warning for a reason 😉
Does not work on 2022 Grand Cherokee
Correct. I think it may have changed since the 2020 model. Not entirely sure.
Well, I will be trying this today. I will report back......
You’ve got this! Let us know!!
All went well..Did as described here. Job was done within 30 minutes. Thank you
@@woodysgeekchannel2204 so glad it went well! Better than paying 100+! Congrats!!!
Today i learned jeep sucks . Glad i dont drive one but i had to fix my friends jeep 😒
It's definitely not a quick change like other cars but I guess it could always be worse!
@@learnsavediy yeah stuff gets complicated lol thanks for the upload btw it really helped .
