I don't know the principles of music but I am fascinated by the tune beginning at 4:30 of raag Piloo by pandit Ravi Shankar and Yahudumenuhin. To me it sounds like the signature of raag Piloo. I have heard many other compositions of raag Piloo in Hindustani music, but they do not sound like this specific composition. I want to know what makes the difference. Why is it that the distinctive sequence of notes beginning at 4:30 do not appear at all in the other compositions of the same raag Piloo? Secondly, if the specific tune is not the characteristic of raag Piloo, what else is the characteristic? Why is it not prominent (of course to me)? I accept I have to learn a lot more. Please guide me. Thanks.

There seems to be rush to get to the bandish as soon as possible.For new students the vistaar should be covered in great detail so that they grasp the raag.Why is it hard to cover the vistaars? These videos should be at least 60 minutes in duration so that all aspects of the raag is comprehensively covered.
The patience level is so low youngsters want to become expert in one day. While this is not desired , to attract people , there is need for instant gratification. Let student make mistake and learn on the job.. If perfection is waited we will lose the great Indian Classical Music which is to me beyond life and sought of leading to NIRVAANA Since both Carnatic as well as Hindustani classical music are eternal, no one can spoil this music this will be there for ever
You three people are so beautiful and graceful. The way you present raags and abstracted songs therefrom is highly praiseworthy. From the chore of my heart I pay homage to all of you from Pakistan.
