In my opinion, 10/10 for this video. I love Madrid, best tapas we have ever had. Great to see your mum & dad visiting. Hope they have a wonderful time in Spain. Enjoy every minute with them.
Great video Stuart. Thanks for sharing it with us and for introducing us to your lovely Mum and Dad. Todays restaurants looked good as did the food. I thought for what you had to eat and drink it was very reasonably priced. Hope your family have a wonderful time in Spain with you. 😀👍
I love these videos stuart and so lovely to meet your parents. Pricey area of Madrid for lunch. Would love to see you trying out you cider pouring skills sometime.
Well Stewart the first thing I want to say it was lovely to see that you were with your mum and dad all the way from Australia in your Vlog❤🙏 as for the food review I really enjoyed , it looks like your mum and dad really enjoyed it also👍 one of your best reviews in my view to date👌👍 keep up the good work mate your doing a great job. I'm sure you're enjoying having your mum and Dad over👍😊 Cheers Steve 🍺 🍷
Lovely vlog... the Retiro area is always a bit expensive. I've been to the Asturian restaurant and it's a great place to have a meal. By the way, the camarrones are like quisquillas which are very expensive as there aren't many left due to over collecting. That's the great thing about Madrid... it gets all the seafood from the Cantabrico!!!
The food looked great and your parents approved! What excellent prices, too. Maybe more expensive than Cádiz but definitely way cheaper than Vancouver.
I can’t believe you didn’t take your parents to La Castela in the Retiro district, one of the best there is. Nice to see your mum and dad in the video 😊. Cheers 🍻
ok value for a touristy part of the city, my barrio is near C. Princesa where I lived from 2004 to 2006 and try to visit regularly. It is a nice area but not as posh as Retiro or barrio Salamanca. There is a good seafood place called Compostella which I would like to see you review.
Wowie! Looked amazing to me. Nice to see your Mum and Dad Stuart. I bought bocquerones in Lanzarote recently but there were so many that we couldn’t eat them between 2 of us. I asked for a portion for 1 person, I think the waitress just ignored my request 😂
Fun video today (food looks amazing). Prices are great compared to here (we paid $30 for a couple of sandwiches yesterday). Your folks are lovely. I have tried ordering a cortado (cafe cortado) at Starbucks (in San Diego) with varying results.
Brilliant blog again Stu..delighted your parents are with you. Always great to have family visit when you're so far away. I can see where you got your great personality from. Exclusive district = exclusive prices. This fritters were way overpriced though. The rest about right for the area, except perhaps €7 for bread!!
Coffee prices haven't increased much in 5 years. I paid 2 euro in 2019. I loved that area when I lived there too! Walked many steps in that park then I went to the museums on the free days.
Oh wow!! I think that's the first time i've seen your parents in your vids. It's good to see that they are fit and healthy. Is this their first time here? How long are they staying?
Hi Stu , how nice to have your Parents together in Madrid . I took my wife and 78 ear old mum to a pub called Casa Labra when we visited friends living in Madrid it was the best fish bites and beer combo I have had ! , the line was out the door for smoko , have you been there ? It’s famous for being the foundation site of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party .
Nice to see your parents but I kind of expected to see you get roasted in the comments. Sorbetto is like ice cream, you eat it with a spoon. Really good after fried food or fish to clean the pipes.
You really need to eat tortillitas de camarones in Sanlucar with a chilled glass of manzanilla. They are tasty, much bigger and a fraction of the price mmmmmmm……….
Soy español y nunca he entendido eso de ser como un local que somos mas listos por ir a sitios no para guiris o extranjeros? eso es facil tambien hoy dia con un poco de sentido comun para vosotros jaja
The best review ever because of your parents, Stuart, they deserve the 100000/10. Adorable people, we love them.
Thanks Antonio.
@@spainspeaks Thanks to you. Cheers.

Thankyou 😊
Lovely to see your parents! Retiro park is beautiful. This is a reminder for me to check my bill because I never do. I'm loving these food blogs.

Como te pones, Stu! Eres un fenómeno!!
You covered a LOT in your 14 minute vlog. Well done. Hello from Atlanta GA USA to your folks.
Great to have met your parents virtually!!! Must be great to be able to enjoy Madrid with them!
Good to see you venturing into the more happening areas of Madrid. The sorbet and panna cotta were a nice perk.
Hope your parents have a fun time.

What a treat! I love meeting you Mom and Dad!
The food looked great and your parents approved! What excellent prices, too. Maybe more expensive than Cádiz but definitely way cheaper than Vancouver.
As a local, I'd have eaten an Asturian "fabada" or "fabes con almejas" at the Asturian cuisine restaurant.
Your parents are very nice people, btw.
I am glad you have your family in town. Disfrutalos
I hope that the person that severely criticised the food here in Spain is seriously eating their words... great video Stuart as always!
Good job Stuart great to see your parents! A totally different food experience for them I bet
Keep up the good work Cheers Roger from Sydney
Stu... Cañadio for Tarta de queso y Tortilla... both have won best in Spain award
Great to meet your mum and dad.
Nice to have your parents with you ❤. Treat them well and take them to the classico tonight 😊. Hala Madrid
Awww...thank God you still have both of your parents! Bless you all❤
I can’t believe you didn’t take your parents to La Castela in the Retiro district, one of the best there is. Nice to see your mum and dad in the video 😊. Cheers 🍻
Boquerones y tortilla de Cameron’s are two of my favorites. Both are finger foods
Wow those oldies are awesome!!

How lovely to see your mum and dad. Enjoy your time with them. Cx
Great stuff Stuart! You could be our foodie guide in Madrid! Cheers from Galicia 🍷
Lovely to see your mum and dad xx
Very much enjoying your out and about videos😊
All the way from Australia to have a coffee that's only seven out of ten. 😂
Your Mum is a food critic!!!!!
A great video, the food looked good and it was lovely to see your parents Stu.
Gracias Stuart, me gustó encontrar a tus padres. ¡Que tengáis un excelente vista juntos! Saludos desde Irlanda, Sláinte a chara.
I had a great time in Scarborough Perth, some years ago. Last stop on my Australian tour!

In Andalusia we order three different portions: tapas, medio ration or quarto (kilo) or un ration or medio (kilo)
Great to see your family enjoying the Spanish way.
Great video and good insight to the area.
Thanks for the snipets of information.

Didn't know Starbucks did coffee.
This, is, Special 🙂
That happened to me a few times charged for bread when we didn't order it.
Retiro is one of the best parks in the world.

I bet your Mom and Dad have some funny stories we should hear lol
I've never been able to get my head round cheese as a starter. Yet again another good vlog.
Good to see you out and about again. Great videos. Cava Baja and La Latina more to my liking. Enjoy it all.
Wow...Ur parents can still travel!!!
Your Dad's a Cool Guy.. what happened to you ? lol 🤣
Looked really good! Coming from California, the prices seemed excellent. Enjoy the visit with your parents!
Retiro best neighbourghood to live and eat 🎉
Good video , nice to see your Ma and Da .
As a Cádiz resident I think the tortillitas de camarones looked very good, but the price would probably raise eyebrows around these parts.
Coffee prices haven't increased much in 5 years. I paid 2 euro in 2019. I loved that area when I lived there too! Walked many steps in that park then I went to the museums on the free days.
Bollo Preñado. Typical in Asturias and León.
Loved this video. Hi Mom and Dad.
I think the best food in Spain is from Asturias- especially the seafood.
Just had thunder and rain xx
Oh wow!! I think that's the first time i've seen your parents in your vids. It's good to see that they are fit and healthy. Is this their first time here? How long are they staying?
Love cheese blue and goats and sheep xx
I was in Retiro 2 weeks ago. Wish I had seen this then. I would have tried the Asturian restaurant 🍴👍
Great video, prices seemed reasonable.
Nice review 🎉
I have never seen you have a coffee you actually thought was good. I assume you have had one somewhere on your travels
Nice to know
Can you order smaller portions for one person? 25 little fishies would be a bit much for me :)
Whatever you do, do NOT bring your parents to that "English Breakfast" place. They might book an earlier flight back. 😂
👍

Very good . We pay between 47 to 70 euros. Depending what we have.
Thought it was good xx
Faltó la sidra
Nice to see your parents but I kind of expected to see you get roasted in the comments. Sorbetto is like ice cream, you eat it with a spoon. Really good after fried food or fish to clean the pipes.
That must be some fancy bread you didn't have for €7. Just as well you checked the bill.
We like blue cheese stu.
You really need to eat tortillitas de camarones in Sanlucar with a chilled glass of manzanilla. They are tasty, much bigger and a fraction of the price mmmmmmm……….
Your are in my hood LOL
La romesco es una salsa catalana
12€ for bread that seems a lot
London is much more expensive than Madrid - most expensive properties in the world are based in London
@VR-vo3bw Because like NYC it’s a ‘global’ capital.
Soy español y nunca he entendido eso de ser como un local que somos mas listos por ir a sitios no para guiris o extranjeros? eso es facil tambien hoy dia con un poco de sentido comun para vosotros jaja
Spanish food is sooo over-rated. This food is equivalent to what you get at a local chippy.
There is no accounting for taste
Signed a famous expert in food 😂
I think u just had a couple of pints and talking non sense.
A casual observer should be enough.
Sure doesn't come close to something like Singaporean.
Honor to meet sturt Mom and Dad , Lovely!
Thank you for sharing. Great informative channel
#MADRIDSPAIN 👍🤍🙏❤🇪🇸
Camarones with romesco? What the fuck!!!
