Hell, I do it to counter snipe. Fao Fortress' ridges from G to D are always lined with snipers. Just sit back at A, B or C and pop heads. One guy killing 10 people on a roll definitely helps.
yeah "camping" is compeltly fine in battlefield. if done right, camping is definitly ptfo. better than run and gunning around the map to no avail for the team. id rather have more camping defenders in my team

Camping is only problem when suddenly 80% of your team are snipers far away from objectives scoring headshots leaving no one to do the job of capturing points lol. I had such game last week.
Kylen Phillips has to do with physics. Bullets with high fps with travel straight through a target and just leave a little hole the size of the bullet. When you get further out, it gives the bullet a chance to slow down and spread or flatten inside the target.
Kylen Phillips the bullet has to accelerate. that sweet spot is when it's at peak velocity. After that it slows down. The faster the bullet, the more damage it does
I find picking a gun and sticking with it helps and don't focus on your stats too much that will come in time and when them headshots start rolling in woop woop can't beat that feeling
I really don't see why would anyone use martini instead of mk3, they both seem to be one shotting people from the same ranges and the mk3 has the advantage of a scope

Accuracy on PC is obviously higher but I have had many games where people just have bad reaction time on both platforms. In the end it's the player, not the platform. Just my opinion though :)

I've always used the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE since I got it. It's a good class, you just gotta learn it. Played objectives in one game of conquest and went 42 13. Now I use the "winner" of this and the Lawrence
DMProDuctions I love the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE. It's basically the perfect gun to complement my play style. And with iron sights it's easy to hit headshots when you take your time, but if you get surprised it does just enough damage to the body to follow up with 2 shots with a side arm to finish then off. And it just looks amazing.
Yes, and the bullet drops with a speed of 12 m/s. Acceleration (or deceleration in this case) would be described with a unit of m/s^2. That would be the speed with which the vertical velocity of the bullet changes, as it is the derivative of the vertical velocity. However, bullet drop is a velocity, as it describes how many meters a bullet drops per second.

At 9:00, you talk about reloading the bullet into the chamber. Just so you know, for the terminology, you don't reload when you pull a lever action. You are chambering a new round. So you should say, "It's really fast to chamber a new round." It's semantics I know but it's nice to use the right words for us gun nuts

Not counting the Martini Henry, meaning scoped rifles only, the best sniper rifle depends on the person. Figure out the range you personally snipe at most often, and equip the gun that's sweet spot is in that range.
My personal favorite is the Russian 1895 Sniper. Great sweet spot, fast re-cambering time, and I think the "smooth" thing about this gun you mentioned (For me) is the sight. The zoom, sight is clear, and the lines are very skinny. Amazing gun.
5 bullets in the clip? yes you reload it with clips, but it's. called an internal Box magazine, if you do future reviews please say it correctly. It drives me nuts and I'm sure others nuts aswell.
Technically its the internal box magazine has the max capacity of 5 rounds but it is fed by 5 round stripper clips or just clips in the heat of the moment
Raffica it's not a tough adjustment to make after a little whkle. the bullet only comes out like 2 inches off, so unless you were aiming at the enemy's earlobe the side mount shouldn't make you miss
OK! *steps out and gets shot by the 50 enemy snipers and 10 MGs* and this children is why we dont play like americans like to PLAY war... because without other SMARTER countryside they lose.
My favourite is the m1903 sniper but depending on the map and game mode like if it's team death match on amiens i'll use the gewehr m 48 carbine or the smle mkIII. Sometimes i like to spice things up and use martini Henry infantry, lebel model infantry, smle mkIII infantry, or the gewehr infantry. I basicaly use all of the snipers since i've unlocked all of them and i'm rank 50 in scout.
You are insanely good with a sniper rifle. Dropping planes by shooting the pilot. I hope I can get even half as good as you. And I am glad I play PS4 because no way would I want to play against you. The way you string those shots together is like art.
ArmaanGames if only that were true lol. I've been trying but have good and bad moments. A lot of the time especially on conquest I keep getting my positioning wrong. Enemy's coming from multiple directions etc
So I was hoping this would finally be a video from someone who understands that there is no "best" in a balanced game... and then he ruins it at the end. By definition with everything balanced perfectly there can't be a best. Of course nothing is perfect but its certainly close enough that the "best" revolves mainly around the situation and partially around your playstyle. The SMLE he liked can't manage long ranges with its low scope, has no bipod, has a slow bullet, and the fact that it has a poor cycle rate doesn't help either. It is designed around mid ranges. Add the fact that sniping you will regularly know the distance of your targets before you spawn and there really shouldn't be anyone sitting there thinking one gun works for everything. Also either DICE has changed the stats or he gave some misinformation - the M1903 has the sweet spot between 100 and 150 meters, not 98 and 118. I somewhat doubt the 98 and 118 numbers since none of the other guns use anything but whole numbers but I didn't look for the figures a month ago. The M1903 is a very good gun with the longest range sweet spot and still has a marksman variant with the smaller scope and no glint useful for counter sniping.
I actually said this in the video and mentioned that the best sniper rifle is always the one that suits your play style. I also corrected myself about the M1903 in the video and in the comments section.
For me, the gewehr 98 is the best scoped rifle at the 6x zoom, and the best non scoped is the Russian 1895 infantry, or the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE. I don't use the Lawrence often but it just looks awesome. But that's just my opinion
i like them all really. it depends on the situation. i think dice did a great job balancing the single action rifles. although i do think there are optimal variants for each. definitely sniper with the 1903, marksman with the 98, and infantry with the smle. i find the m95 works well with both infantry and marksman if you want to track your targets easily for the second shot since you dont have to think about the sweet spot and everything about it is fast

I really liked the SMLE a lot when I was grinding to level 10, but it feels really underwhelming now that I have the martini. you just can't chain body shot kills with the SMLE the same way you can with the martini, the sweet spot feels tiny after getting a few martini service stars and trying to switch back. agreed on the russian, it's an awesome rifle. I don't really feel a need to use any of the rifles that don't have a sweet spot or sweet spot is over 100m. you can still PTFO with the russian no problem, but once you start pushing ranges past the Russian's sweet spot your not really helping the team any more.
Imo no sniper is the best, its whatever works for the user, but in Bf1, take the SMLE for medium range, G98 for medium to long, and the M1903 for long to extreme long range. and then the Gewerh M.95 is the best for close range.
I love the 1903 sniper and SMLE carbine. I wish they would've made a Smle sniper version. I'm one who will use the rifle bases by the side I'm on! Meaning if I'm a British scout I'll use the SMLE, German or Austro-Hungarian the Gewehr rifles and so on. Old school
Martini is great, but you can't judge a gun just based on its power. Plus, it's only great for close to medium range snipers. Long range snipers wouldn't like it at all
Dang I thought for sure it was going to be the gewehr 98 infantry, sniper or marksman but that's what's great about BF1! I like it because of the velocity and the sweet spot and because it's a straight bolt
id have to say my fav is the Russian 1895 sniper, currently got 41% accuracy and 800+ kills with it atm plus ive almost got its quick scoping down pat as i only camp when necessary lol , but yeah ill admit as soon as i hear the anti tank kit is up i try to get it, love that gun lol, specially shooting planes out of the sky with it.
Yeh its powerful for sure but i like the fact you are rewarded with something good for getting scout 10 so hopefully they don't as the gas grenades are more in need of a nerf.
The Russian 1895 Trench is a fantastic weapon. Aiming for the head is a guaranteed one shot kill. I like to let my teammates get a few shots and then I get the kill! I do feel that it's a bit unbalanced, however, considering that it only holds 5 bullets and take 1-2 seconds to pull the lever to take another shot. I think if they increase the ammo count, the gun will be amazing!
I fail to understand where you get your meter marks for what you consider close/medium/long range. Close range would be anything inside 100 meters. Medium range would be anything from 100 meters to 450-600 meters. (debatable to a point) Long range would be 600+ meters. I know this is a video game and all, but those are the general numbers associated with ranges.
Well MonkeyandJesus, if you were playing BF4 you would be 100% correct. With BF1 the range measurements have changed based on the bullet drop and the inability to zero your scope past 300m.
Also one of the best things about the M.95 is that no matter how many shots you've fired he'll always reload a whole 5-round-clip. No individual bullet loading:)
Are you sure? Because every time you reload the 5-bullet-clip does a pop-out animation and then you load the new clip back in. I just thought it was a mechanic to buff the gun compared to the others, seeing as there is no sweet spot. The 5-bullet clip also looks a lot different to the others. I'll have to research into that..
The bullet count doesn't match. I did some math but got it wrong and I'm at work so I don't have time to give example lol. But watch the bullet count next time you reload. Seems glitchy.
Alright will do:) I hope the mechanic stays though because that's what makes the M.95 such a good PTFO sniper gun. You just do work with it, especially on Argonne Forest. It'll still be a good gun but that's one less reason to pick it over something like the SMLE.

in my opinion, the SMLE makes all the others obsolete because its clip size doubles all the others (not including martini), therefore giving it much more room for error, although it's my favorite gun, and im probably being biased about it, i think it needs a nerf.

One thing I love about this game is the Sniper versatility in maps. I love that I have different snipers for each map.
anyone else been using the flare gun to finish people off after you hit some one and they duck behind cover? its hilarious
I use the flare gun offensively, Put it in heavily used path's and listen to people scream. Not to mention nice bonus's for spot assist.
They also often die when you put it in those places. Plus the panic from being set on fire gives our side the advantage in a team firefight

I honestly don't notice a difference between the side mount and the regular scopes from BF4. All I need are the cross hairs and I'm happy.

My favourite is the m1903 sniper but depending on the map and game mode like if it's team death match on amiens i'll use the gewehr m 48 carbine or the smle mkIII. Sometimes i like to spice things up and use martini Henry infantry, lebel model infantry, smle mkIII infantry, or the gewehr infantry. I basicaly use all of the snipers since i've unlocked all of them and i'm rank 50 in scout.

So I was hoping this would finally be a video from someone who understands that there is no "best" in a balanced game... and then he ruins it at the end. By definition with everything balanced perfectly there can't be a best. Of course nothing is perfect but its certainly close enough that the "best" revolves mainly around the situation and partially around your playstyle. The SMLE he liked can't manage long ranges with its low scope, has no bipod, has a slow bullet, and the fact that it has a poor cycle rate doesn't help either. It is designed around mid ranges. Add the fact that sniping you will regularly know the distance of your targets before you spawn and there really shouldn't be anyone sitting there thinking one gun works for everything. Also either DICE has changed the stats or he gave some misinformation - the M1903 has the sweet spot between 100 and 150 meters, not 98 and 118. I somewhat doubt the 98 and 118 numbers since none of the other guns use anything but whole numbers but I didn't look for the figures a month ago. The M1903 is a very good gun with the longest range sweet spot and still has a marksman variant with the smaller scope and no glint useful for counter sniping.
I actually said this in the video and mentioned that the best sniper rifle is always the one that suits your play style. I also corrected myself about the M1903 in the video and in the comments section.

For me, the gewehr 98 is the best scoped rifle at the 6x zoom, and the best non scoped is the Russian 1895 infantry, or the Lawrence of Arabia SMLE. I don't use the Lawrence often but it just looks awesome. But that's just my opinion

Gewehr m95, being able to quickly follow up with a 2nd shot, is very good at longer ranges (after 150m, all rifles require 2 body shots anyways).

i like them all really. it depends on the situation. i think dice did a great job balancing the single action rifles. although i do think there are optimal variants for each. definitely sniper with the 1903, marksman with the 98, and infantry with the smle. i find the m95 works well with both infantry and marksman if you want to track your targets easily for the second shot since you dont have to think about the sweet spot and everything about it is fast

I really liked the SMLE a lot when I was grinding to level 10, but it feels really underwhelming now that I have the martini. you just can't chain body shot kills with the SMLE the same way you can with the martini, the sweet spot feels tiny after getting a few martini service stars and trying to switch back. agreed on the russian, it's an awesome rifle. I don't really feel a need to use any of the rifles that don't have a sweet spot or sweet spot is over 100m. you can still PTFO with the russian no problem, but once you start pushing ranges past the Russian's sweet spot your not really helping the team any more.

Peter mercil looks like you haven't messed with the m.95 much. It's the great for mid ranges. Right up there with the martini.
Imo no sniper is the best, its whatever works for the user, but in Bf1, take the SMLE for medium range, G98 for medium to long, and the M1903 for long to extreme long range. and then the Gewerh M.95 is the best for close range.

I love the 1903 sniper and SMLE carbine. I wish they would've made a Smle sniper version. I'm one who will use the rifle bases by the side I'm on! Meaning if I'm a British scout I'll use the SMLE, German or Austro-Hungarian the Gewehr rifles and so on. Old school

Martini is great, but you can't judge a gun just based on its power. Plus, it's only great for close to medium range snipers. Long range snipers wouldn't like it at all

id have to say my fav is the Russian 1895 sniper, currently got 41% accuracy and 800+ kills with it atm plus ive almost got its quick scoping down pat as i only camp when necessary lol , but yeah ill admit as soon as i hear the anti tank kit is up i try to get it, love that gun lol, specially shooting planes out of the sky with it.

Unfortunately yea, you disregard the m1903 even tho it in fact has the biggest sweet spot, and a faster bolt pull than the smle and gewehr 98
My favourite is the Russian 1895 Marksman. Used it in the beta, use it in game. Saw the fire rate and I was sold.
The Russian 1895 Trench is a fantastic weapon. Aiming for the head is a guaranteed one shot kill. I like to let my teammates get a few shots and then I get the kill! I do feel that it's a bit unbalanced, however, considering that it only holds 5 bullets and take 1-2 seconds to pull the lever to take another shot. I think if they increase the ammo count, the gun will be amazing!
I fail to understand where you get your meter marks for what you consider close/medium/long range. Close range would be anything inside 100 meters. Medium range would be anything from 100 meters to 450-600 meters. (debatable to a point) Long range would be 600+ meters. I know this is a video game and all, but those are the general numbers associated with ranges.
Well MonkeyandJesus, if you were playing BF4 you would be 100% correct. With BF1 the range measurements have changed based on the bullet drop and the inability to zero your scope past 300m.
Also one of the best things about the M.95 is that no matter how many shots you've fired he'll always reload a whole 5-round-clip. No individual bullet loading:)

Are you sure? Because every time you reload the 5-bullet-clip does a pop-out animation and then you load the new clip back in. I just thought it was a mechanic to buff the gun compared to the others, seeing as there is no sweet spot. The 5-bullet clip also looks a lot different to the others.

The bullet count doesn't match. I did some math but got it wrong and I'm at work so I don't have time to give example lol. But watch the bullet count next time you reload. Seems glitchy.
Alright will do:) I hope the mechanic stays though because that's what makes the M.95 such a good PTFO sniper gun. You just do work with it, especially on Argonne Forest.
It'll still be a good gun but that's one less reason to pick it over something like the SMLE.
I'm a beast with the Gewer 98 infantry. Idk why I use it I just do really well even at long range with iron sights

in my opinion, the SMLE makes all the others obsolete because its clip size doubles all the others (not including martini), therefore giving it much more room for error, although it's my favorite gun, and im probably being biased about it, i think it needs a nerf.
