Diesel can flush out all the crud in the gear box if you can turn the cogs by hand , same for the motor although I think you said it was frozen , I've even filled the pony with diesel to flush and lightly lube the moving parts. Let it drip dry for a day or two though
I poured diesel in mine and took a air blower with a long stem on it. Stuck it in the fill hole to the bottom. And blew air in the diesel. I did it twice and mine looked brand new inside. That's the only way I've been able to get it all out.
