    summary
    1. Print out snellen charts and keep a distance where you see slightly blur. Do eye exercises and check for clarity change. DO NOT Fixate your focus but constantly shifting focus and see the clarity change.
    2. Active Focus - when you are able to see letters less blurry after a natural blink (without squinting). This will last longer as your eye muscles get stronger and refractive error changes with intensive eye exercises and practice with peripheral vision.
    3. Reduce prescription of your current glasses (refer to the link below)
    4. Be outside in the sun especially between 8am to 11 am
    5. Reduce screen time - small screen and small texts in closer than full arm's length damages further
    Caution: Sungazing is not safe. I've done more like peripheral sung gazing. Please wear proper sun protection ie) sunglasses, sun protection for your skin if you are under the sun. Please note that this is my personal experiment and what I found to be Top 5 habits that helped improve my vision in 2 months. I encourage you to share your experience of what you found to be helping your vision improvement as well. Thank you,
    This video is a personal experience of sharing tips on how to improve vision naturally with habit change. This case is specifically for myopia condition. Stephen Lee an Acupuncturist in Aurora, Canada shared how he went from -5.0 to -3.5 in 2 months and shared his top five tips on effective habits for vision improvement. Eye exercises brought temporary benefits but did not contribute to a significant sustaining improvement.

    It's really kind of you to take time off your schedules and answer even the recent inquiries. So thank you so much :)
    I got my glasses 2 years ago. I had -1.0 myopia in both eyes but the fear that I might live like this for my entire life was far too bigger. So I researched everywhere and after finding out that after 20, eyes stop developing and the damage remains permanent after that, I made it my goal to reduce my myopia or atleast stop its progression. I tried everything, from eye exercises and 20/20/20 rule to using a laptop from more than an arm length away instead of my phone and reducing my screen time as much as possible aside from my online classes. I'm 19 now and I feel like it's only gotten worse, probably more than 2.0. If I read books for more than 30 minutes, even the things 2 feet away look blurry and not even my glasses help with that. And that is affecting my studies and life a lot. So please tell me if there's anything else aside from the instructions in the video that'll help me with that temporary blurriness. It'd be a lot of help. Thank you.

    • @lifestephen

      Jasmine, you are a kind hearted! Remember this, your eyes will adopt your environment. If your eyesight is -2 now, it’s myopia. For myopia condition it’s not a disease. Key thing is to allow your eyes to adopt to environment and surroundings of viewing far distance objects. I will make a video on this to emphasize this point I forgot to mention. No matter what exercises you do, if the ratio of seeing close up is higher than looking far distance objects on a daily basis it will be difficult for your eyes to restore good vision. I experienced this since November working on making these videos or spending more time indoors with computers I have not improved since even with all my healthy eating habits for eyes and frequent exercises. I don’t know what the minimum time per day is but I am experimenting. I am spending at least 1-1.5 hr outside viewing (active focus) and limiting computer usage to less than 4-5 hrs a day and no small screen (phone) usage and seeing some improvement. But to be confirmed after a little longer period of time of trial. Keep you posted!

      @@jasminetirkey5429 Yes I have it too. I have astigmatism as well but as mentioned before, since it's coming from myopia condition once your eyes restore to 20/20 it will improve. Also to remember, our eyes sight is never fixed, they fluctuate depending on your health and environment. Even when we reach 20/20 we need to consistently maintain good habits. Then whether it be double vision or setbacks all can be adjusted to normal.

    I went without glasses for a year because I couldn't afford to get a pair.
    When I went to go get my driver's license I didn't even have to use glasses to pass the eye exam.
    I drove for about another year before I decided I really needed glasses at night because my night vision was really bad. My eyesight has steadily gotten slightly worse since getting glasses again.
    The only reason I can attribute it to not being a faster process is because as soon as I come home I take my glasses off and they don't go on again unless I drive or go to work.

      Thank you sharing your story Kellie! I haven’t figured out this thing fully but I do think that our eyes dynamic nature of adaptation is powerful when we do not rely on our glasses. Although for a long term, there is a thing called blur adaptation we want to avoid. Hence the reduction methods work with great success. We definitely don’t want to rely on glasses all the time. Yes true for many! When I didn’t do eye tests since they started charging 😂, I have not gotten worse for 10 years. As soon as I do the test my eyesight shows it to be significantly worse. It turns out our eyesights do not have fixed vision, they always fluctuate depending on your environment and how you use them. They adopt to fit the best hence if you using them for closeup work for prolonged period of time, they will be accustomed to that. (Only taking about myopia here). Currently working on what food and supplements benefited me in rapid improvement. Stay tuned!

    My hint is: notice the floor around you while doing everthing, really pay more attention to the floor than the area where you are looking at. In another words, anchoring your whole perception to the floor, yourself, your nose, shoulders, then you slowly "share" this perception to the thing you are looking at. Even wearing glasses.
    While wearing weaker glasses you will get more flashes of clearity doing it.
    Your full prescription does this without you knowing, it brings you back to yourself, it puts you in a contemplative state of you and things that are nearer and surrounds you. In a technical way, the light gets converged in front of your eyeballs, shinning light in the whole surface of your eyes. Your task is constantly makes your eyeballs do the task by getting aware of your near surrounds all the time.

      amazing! Thanks for sharing, it's exactly how you should be using peripheral vision to improve vision. I do it by 'shift focus' or 'panoramic view capturing'. it seems to get me out of tunnel vision quickly. but something constant like floor perception is the way to go!

      As I explained in the video I went from -5.00 diopter to -3.5 glasses at the time so no where near 20/20 where you don't need glasses. I've so far reduced further to -2.75 at this point. If you check out the links I shared in the video and description, you can find other testimonials of people who reduced more than me. But based on my experience so far, this truly works but it's slow and require incredible amount of efforts and adjustments to lifestyle. But i'm excited that it's working because the glasses I used to wear are all too strong for me and can't wear them anymore. Amazingly I'm heading in the right direction. I anticipate reaching 20/20 in 3 year time line. Basically 1 diopter per year improvement. On this channel i will be sharing my experiences what worked and what didn't. Btw, I am very happy you raised that question and leaving me a comment! Also I love your name. We need more minimalists in this world of excessive accumulation both physical and spiritual. May you stay true to your name! All the best!

    I'm mildly myopic. I lost my glasses once and went without for a bit until I caved and bought new ones. My prescription went down by 0.5. I got interested in this eyesight improvement stuff and my experience is that it does work as long as I keep doing the exercises but if I stop my myopia goes back to baseline pretty quickly. I've sort of given up on it as being too high maintenance when I can just wear glasses instead.
    Sunlight does make a difference, I live far up north that I miss what little sunlight there is entirely for parts of December and the difference in my eyesight between summer and winter is obvious. I attribute part of this to just the effect of more sunlight hitting my eyes, part to me being outside more to look at far away things, part to not needing to wear glasses as much when it's bright outside and my pupils shrink and refractive errors shrink.

    Hi it's me agian, It's been 47 days now since i have been practicing active focus now i can read the 20/20 line on the snellen chart from 6 meters away but not perfecly.
    Now it's easy for me to read the chart from 6 meters so i decided to read it from 7,50 meters away.
    I can see the 20/25 clearly now and i will continue until i can read the 20/15 line.
    I went to the ophtalmologist and my prescription decreased from minus 3 to minus 2.50 in 40 days.
    I want to reach 20/15 so i can go to the church with my parents during the night (i always have been afraid on getting out at night because of my nearsightedness) when i cure myopia i will finally be able to go to the church at night agian

      I’m not an optometrist but based on more than 10 yrs of data from Jake’s community who have improv their vision, typically use 1 to 1.5 diopter less for differential. So your case may not need a differential glasses instead just practice not wearing glasses if you can see clearly close up. But having said that, your astigmatism is high, so you will experience some ghosting or double vision still until you correct it.

    • @lifestephen
      @lifestephen  Рік тому +1

      @@phoenix_ra I don't have a lot of knowledge on this topic eventhough I have astigmatism myself. Said that, I know cylnder reduction takes much longer every reduction might be 6 months or maybe longer. So depending on which reduction you wanna tackle first, your plan will change. My personal approach which i'm doing now is tackling sphere reduction first. So if you take the same approach then, you may need a normalized glasses (for outdoor activities) with R) 0.25 cyl 1.25 axis 90 and L) sph 0.25, cyl 1.00 axis 90 to start. (for differential you just remove your glasses when doing desktop or close up work) and after daily active focus and measurement at home for about 3-4 months hopefully your spherical reduction is establsihed. Then pretty much your spherical is close to normal so just focus on reducing cylinder at that point by focusing on clearing out ghosting and night time neon lights etc. Your brain needs to align with your visual image accurately. Good luck!

      myopia can be reversed if the child starts to see distance viewing more than close up given that he doesn't have any other health issues so...
      1. eliminate screens or close-up activities
      2. be out in the sunlight 2-3 hrs a day
      3. get him glasses with -3.5 and -3.00 for distant viewing and don't let him use these glasses for close distance viewing or activities close up.
      Best thing is if he can pick up hobbies or activities that are outdoor such as playing soccer or hiking etc on a daily basis will save his eyes.

If you struggle to form clarity then apply some of the exercises I shared in the shorts part1 when looking at the snellen chart it will definitely be easier. • @hadwindp
      @hadwindp 11 місяців тому

      I’d have to find the study, but it’s been shown that blocking UV light inhibits the production of a protein created in your eye that inhibits eye growth meaning your eyes continue to grow without the stimulus of UV rays. I would be careful, therefore, to block UV rays constantly, that teaching /adage is becoming outdated.

      Tough case indeed, however not impossible. It will be more of a gradual slow improvement if you stick to some solid regimen, like taking frequent breaks, trying to get at least 30-60 min a day under the sunlight, wearing differentials and etc. At the end of the day, it comes down to ‘how bad do you want to improve your vision!’ And a person’s mindset and will power will dictate the change of habit and finding a way to get it done. Just from my own experience, it definitely isn’t easy but constantly tweaking my routines and habits to include healthy vision times in there. Kinda like work out, you commit yourself on a consistent basis and pay off comes gradually afterwards. There is no one size fits all but some of the main key habits need to be in your lifestyle somehow. ie) waking up before sunrise to catch 15-20 min get sunlight and at lease 30 min during the day to be outside doing active focus etc

    Can I squint when staring at the chart, or no? Also I was told by several eye doctors that for people with lighter colored eyes sun exposure on the eyeballs mad harm vision over time so I should be sure to wear sunglasses. So I but darkening lenses on my glasses. I suspect this might be utter bullshit but I am afraid to risk ruining my vision further.

    • @lifestephen
      @lifestephen  7 місяців тому +4

      Appreciate your questions, please do not squint or force in anyway when looking at the chart. Also instead of staring, I meant really just examining the letters on the chart for any clarity changes if you can tell. It is more effective and a few blinks can bring clarity and focus when you are at the right distance so play around with the distance rather than squinting. Regarding the sun exposure, I think it's pretty safe to have morning sunlight(9-10am) come into your face (your eyes) AS LONG AS you don't directly look at the sun (even for lighter colored eyes) but after that, sunlight may become harmful to your eyes so it's best to wear a sunglasses and sun protection for your skin as well. I only experimented sun gazing (5-6am sunrise time only) 20 min for a couple of months and I shared that in the video which is not for everyone especially if you have blue eyes.

Should I use them? I really want to improve my eyesight. I respect you very much sir, you provide feedback to a lot of people and your videos are very helpful.

      If you want to improve your vision, wearing your stronger glasses with -3.25 will not help. I would keep wearing -2.75 and start applying my daily routine tips with eye exercises and reduce drastically your screen time and spend at least 2 to 3 hours outside viewing far objects daily. You should be able to restore your vision. My recent experiment demonstrated reducing 0.50 in 4 months but it may be difficult to achieve however 0.25 reduction in 3 months can be attainable.

    Dr I have two questions active focusing with glass or without glass and I have a eye power 1.25 doctor but I don't like to wear glasses without using power glasses it can increase eye power

    • @lifestephen
      @lifestephen  2 дні тому

      very important questions you raised! 1. you do active focus without glasses for you since it's only -1.25. PLUS it's good you are not wearing this glasses since it's not going to improve your vision by wearing this glasses all the time.
      2. BUt you do need to wear this when you need to far objects clearly. It's critical that you need to give your brain a reference point of what clear vision looks like. IF you see blurry all the time, then your brain will adopt to blurry vision as normal and will not improve.
      Additionally, if you start copying my daily routine which i shared in the video titled "30 day vision transformation', you will notice your vision becomes sharper every time after those sets of exercises so you will need to change your glasses to -1.00 or even 0.75 as your new glasses and get rid of -1.25.
      Another important thing to remember is keeping a screen distance of 65 cm or greater but minimum 65 cm without glasses. Do whatever you can like make the fonts bigger and etc to keep the distance at 65cm. also keep 20-20-20 rule by taking a frequent breaks will help you achieve 6/6 faster.

    Will this work if you have an astigmatism? My old glasses are progressive r1.75 L1.50 add 1.75 (R3.5 L3.25) on both for reading. My new distance glasses single vision are r2.0 L 1.75 (which is .25 higher on each). My reading/computer glasses are reading on bottom
    Computer on top R3.00 L2.75 add .75 both eyes so r3.75 and L3.5.
    So my question is because it’s .25 higher should I stick to my old ones instead?

    • @lifestephen
      @lifestephen  2 місяці тому

      My personal experience with progressive are not good at all. I asked for refund and changed it to single lens due to screwing up my vision especially peripheral vision which is essential in restoring vision. So your old glasses even though .25 lower I doubt will be beneficial but I’m not 100% sure. I would feel more safe with single lens which I have and have been successful. For lens reduction, please refer to the link in the description. Cheers!
