I wasn't playing yugioh during MR4, but even I knew the Danger effects were super good only because I pulled a Danger Jackalope from it's original pack for fun one day. I never knew they existed until then
I still use a Danger Dark world deck, and it still holds up. Just yesterday I was in a 3v3 tag duel and I got a Predaplant Triphyoverutum, Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy, Zombiestein, and a Time Thief Redoer on my board turn one. I admit I got Triph through Super Poly using my opponent's board, but since I discarded Nessie for the activation, I was able to search another Danger monster. So that's two negates and negating an extra deck summon. And then my partner put Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon on the board. The guy who went after him couldn't do anything.
My friends and I run a league at my local card shop called the UnChained League. I run Danger! Thunder Dragons at full power in that league. We also have a Sky Striker player at full power and a Salamangreat player at full power. There are a lot of broken decks, but honestly all of the decks seem fair to me. It can be scary to see the decks at full power just doing what they do, but that’s how we like it. I’m never getting rid of my Danger! Thunder Dragon deck. I may not be able to go to official tournaments but I get to use my favorite decks. Peace

I just like how interactive they are for both players, they seem very gimmicky but they are very powerful.
As my favorite deck is Salamangreat (second Orcust/Codetalker), I've been learning about this format specic cause I love all the top meta decks present then. Though I wasn't into yugioh when this format was up, it's still gives me chills learning about it :D (especially since it's one of the most fair formats that every really emerged as far as I know)
Another deck that works phenomenally with danger is super quant. The strongest dangers shared the levels with the monsters for the xyz summoning of its archetype. Not to mention that if your super quant was targeted for the discard it would still have an in grave effect trigger and that blue layer could recycle your monsters back into the deck for use again when you drew more cards.
Great video. Well edited, informative and entertaining. A small suggestion would be also doing this for older strats, since many of us played, lived, and aided in abusing these newer cards. I know you did some from nekroz period but maybe even further, if that's possible.
If you haven’t already done one, how about a video on Mermails and/or Paleozoics? Those are two archetypes I wanna play someday, and lord knows Rata won’t do an Archetype Archive on either of them anytime soon(Though it would be fitting if he did an Archetype Archive on Mermails for MerMay)
I'm not sure if they even need to be on the banlist anymore. We have extremely powerful going second cards that kinda just destroy monster focused strategies like Dangers, so maybe we can get the engine pieces back?
I really like the editing of your videos. I would recommend not being afraid to do multiple takes during recording audio though. The mistakes, and breaks are off putting. IMO anyways. Still a good video.
dangers have like ba nice 2 effects, but the later can be used as engine, the ohter rn is kept alive by cgerubini only, ba is already power crept to oblivion, compare them to drytron. wow i have dante and that guy has 9 omni negates.
I miss Danger Lunalight. That was probably the most impactful time Dangers had on me because of what happened to True Draco and Salamangreat on the previous list. Lunalight was the first true combo deck I utilized and had a hell of a time playing it. Too bad it was short lived with Tiger getting banned on the next list and ultimately the limitation of the Big 3 Dangers, and signaling the start of the hell we are still going through that is the pandemic.
2019 yugioh seems like it was the best the game got. All those architypes are my fav in Masterduel and I hate how powercreep has sniped all these cool archetypes in favor of absolutely degen strats like Tear.
@@truekingofallgeneraiders Danger still have a high representation in the top cuts even droll exists. After Nibiru, Orcust started to take up most of the top cuts. While Danger strategies like Thunder dragon only takes up 3%.
uhhhhhhh no. VW is already kind of bricky (like when you don’t open a normal summomable VW or Qinglong) but when you introduce out of archetype cards it bricks more, despite the dangers being a consistency engine. it sounds good on paper, but falls apart fast.

Because it's an engine, not a deck. Even when Konami tried to release cards to make it into an independent deck nodoby gave a fuck. Dangers will never be a standalone deck. Ever
lt's be real those "cards" sucked. they relied on you keeping the dangers(which are pretty much vannillas on the field) instead on linking them off or using them as material whatever with little to no protection , and hope the only way your apponent can out them is through battle, not to mention the provide little to no card advantage(the ones that do are too slow for the format ) making the only usable cards the danger! monsters and 1 onf their spell cards(only because it gives a free draw by shuffeling itself back, an effect all danger spells/traps should have had)
Dude, Danger in their full power were so fucking stupid, not just because they were strong, but because it dragged out the duel for so long, Resolving one danger takes forever, you have to shuffle, roll the dice, snipe the card, ask for response etc, and having so many draw cards that synergizes with them means that people playing dangers would spend 2/3 of the duel resolving dangers and fixing their hand
in master duel all are unlimited exept jackolope, and guess what they are not broken cause the meta rn consist of 3 decks that say haha you cant play yugioh
Maybe it was me struggling but I absolutely hated that format. I had Orcust and Salamangreat and did awful with both of them. And everyone at my.locals was playing either Sky Striker and Thunder Dragons. Couldn't beat a single one. Their ceilings are too high, they utilize Dangers better and they're even more consistent. But that's just me. 2019 was so bad for me, I quit once that banlist in January 2020 came.
Danger! Kaiju is my favorite deck currently in the game. I knew Dangers were good before the nerfs yet they're still pretty good ironically the nerfs allowed more hybrid decks.

Level 3 Turbo builds are very easy to be broken with Jackalope & Tsuchinoko but Nessie could easily come back to Semi, if not come off the list.
