That “shooting Santa with a shotgun” pitch is real. That was actually planned in the original script
Really? Wow.

"People at other houses aren't the protagonists of this movie"
This line is simply genius.
That's a fair question... are we following the protagonists of these movies because amazing things happen to them, or do amazing things happen to them because they're the protagonists?
@@SeraphsWitness yes
Sartre, with all his insight, could never elucidate this truth so keenly, so brilliantly...

Santa needs his 8-ball. Ho! Ho! HoYeah that hits the spot!
"Bad Santa" exists
I kept waiting for him to discuss the line about Scott's son saying he wanted to enter the family business, implying that he wanted to murder his father and take the Santa job for himself.
Well that isn’t possible now since Charlie is now all grown up in the Santa Clauses

Thank you so much for finally touching on how difficult it is to make it seem like Santa isn't real with the free gifts every year.
That has bugged me through every movie with that premise!
How could you not believe in Santa in a world where you wake up to gifts you didn't put there?!
Santa uses his magic on adults and kids alike.
For kids, just getting presents is enough to bring them joy.
Adults get too cynical to just accept the premise of free gifts, so instead Santa makes them believe they're the ones providing the presents for the kids.

If Santa Claus took that much time at just one house, it would take eons for him to get to every house. Even if he spent 1 second at every house, it would still take many decades (assuming he also delivers outside of America).
Time shenanigans. Neal did ask Charlie about it.
I thought you were wrong but I did the math and you're right. It would take 570 years to deliver presents to 300 million homes at 1 second per visit. That's insane.
He has a magic watch that can stop time.
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327 I think your math is off. Your calculation is for 1 minute per house rather than 1 second. It would take 570 years to deliver presents to 300 million homes at 1 minute per house. For 1 second per house, that would still be nearly a decade though, so still crazy
@@wizkaleeb662 I did those calculations a bunch of times and still got it wrong. You are right, but a minute per house makes more sense than a second.

Ya know.. this just made me realize Christmas would be 100x better if the mythology was little elves delivering gifts. Like each kid had their own elf that brings them personal gifts. So much cuter than a random man breaking into your house.
Santa was an elf in the mythology. It's all very convoluted now.
I was LITERALLY thinking in the beginning that it would be fun if he originally scripted Santa being killed with a gun (the classical American protection-way), and he really said it. Hilarious!!!

All things considered among celebrity crimes? Tim Allen is probably the jaywalker of celebrity criminals.
"On October 2, 1978, Allen was arrested in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport for possession of over 650 grams (1.43 lb) of cocaine. He subsequently pleaded guilty to felony drug trafficking charges and provided the names of other dealers in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years rather than a possible life imprisonment.
