Wonder Woman was received as one of the best DCEU movies when it came out in 2017, so naturally Warner Bros wanted Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins to make a sequel. That sequel comes three years later in the form of Wonder Woman 1984, which in a historic first for a massive superhero blockbuster - came out on streaming at the same time as in theatres!
Wonder Woman 1984 movie definitely raises some questions. Like why did Steve Trevor return through some random guy? Why are they using this man’s body for anything they like? Why is there a fully-fueled jet lying around at the Smithsonian and how does Steve Trevor know how to fly it? How does Diana know how to make it invisible? How did Wonder Woman get her lasso around Max Lord? How did literally everyone renounce their wishes? How did nobody wish the world to immediately end? What exactly is the message of this movie?!
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Wonder Woman 1984! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

The moral of this story is “A plane is a plane.”
The best part of the movie was the Olympic wipeout competition in the beginning
And a stove is a stove. No matter where you go.
That sentence is technically correct ("The best type of correct!")
Also remember: "A pitch is a pitch."

@Soul Alone It's just a lazy way to signal to the audience that a character is supposed to be unattractive
@Akshay 786 maybe instead of blaming "Hollywood" blame the writers of the movie... There are some fantastic movies that other writers have written and they are also in "Hollywood".
Wait...if the film assumes that everybody wished for something selfish, then wouldn't a large percentage also choose to selfishly ignore Diana's request to renounce their wish?
Lmao. So true. Imagine if some guy wished for the earth to explode. how do you renounce that? Like wtf.

A wish is a wish, and a wish is wrong. Are you implying that a wish being a wish, is somehow not a wrong wish?
No, she made a speech, so human kind is good now
Exactly. The writing in this movie is god awful, if someone wished for them to be cured of cancer AND THEN THEY WERE, why tf would they renounce it
“You have to understand that this is a really good guy she knew... for a couple of days .. seven decades ago..”😂😂😂
Truly empowering writing for our heroine.
No but so many superhero romances do this. Steve and Peggy from the Captain America movies -- he barely knew her and yet they ended up together in Endgame, and now Diana and Steve here. I hate them both lol
@@astrobookwormsinger Steve knew her for at least a year or more from his time at the boot camp and his time during the war and from his point of view, it was only yesterday that he went into the ice and and maybe like 10 more years pass until endgame.
Technically, it was only less than four decades, according to the title of the movie
bullshit like this why I despise most portrails or romance in media. It is more imortent to shoehorn romance into a story by all means necessary then that it makes any sense or feels even slightly genuine
When I saw the first Wonder Woman movie, I wished they would make a sequel. I renounce my wish.

But it is not Impossible movie in powers woman because realistic is speaking you cannot defend a whole unit of European soldiers because they just conquered people who where not using guns very easily and divided the ocntinen in 1908 without being a god because she is a Greek or Roman Thor So not empowering
Humans and people thinking the God of war because they did not install heart of a god they even grow it I could use he was a man to all that talk about men plus the end woman was a woman and was not a good person so she would be more surprised if it was a mortal.
Like why the woman at the end was spared is because the hero sllik everyone except the end person.
Because this type of movie, the whole point of this movie, is that because when you sllik the cause everything that's done in the movie automatically get undone. So, if people wishes for more weapons when you declare war, even if you can do all those weapons, since the cause of the war is because they had no weapons, the war will automatically be undone, which doesn't make sense but like, also, if, in the first movie, she fought the God of War whispered for humanity to be evil. Even if you llik a human's god of war in this low god of war, no matter how many god of war you llik, those will be war, because the hands already been done.
And that's a real thing in the movie.
And we're thinking about the body of someone else, to revive someone to the stuff that happening the bed. Basically, all of that has been done, even if she wasn't wished.
Plus, there have been some murders that stop like even if you automatically wish that not that that didn't happen. It doesn't mean the war would stop. Because there's a bunch of nukes that have already been sent
And in the movie logicthe person will be revived so everything that person has done will be undone on the person wishes for weapon weapon that they hurt someone it will be undone because he would still go to jail even the body Steve posted because if you think about it because the point of these movies is that if you renounced a lie the consequences will also be renounced by it may take time because he renounced his wishes at the end of the consequences stay wouldn't he renounced his wishes before the end?

Orphan: "I wish to have a family"

Am I really the only one who doesn’t have a problem with the movie’s message. You can’t magically wish for all the bad things in life to go away because the world isn’t fair. It’s sad but you have to live with the circumstances of your life and make the best of it.
@@prestigev6131 Doesn't work. That's the problem with that message. Abused kids cannot make the most of their unhappy, violent & in some cases short lives.
Message only works if it tackles money and material objects, aspirations etc.
Ofc the movie only wants us to think in those terms.
I can think of a lot more evil in the world where wishes would never be revoked by the person who's now been saved by it.
But the movie needs everyone to comply by the heart warming Diana speech, to revoke their wish & ofc like any good hallmark show, they do.
@@prestigev6131 It's easy to say that when your life allows you to "make the best of it". Abused kids, families dying of starvation and war victims can't just "make the best of it". The message only works if the biggest problems in your life are "I can't date the dude I want to date" or "man life would be better if I just had an extra 50 million dollars". It's a very shallow movie with a decent (although cliche) message that was terribly executed.

Ryan carrying Screen Rant like The Mandalorian carrying the Star Wars franchise.
Things being The Way is TIGHT!! :)
It's super easy barely inconvenient
R.O.T.S?
mhm
Hey, rouge one wasn't that bad..
A plane is a plane.
"That sentence isn't *technically* wrong" is the line that got me.
Hahahshshshs that killed me hahahahahahahahahhaha
Hy😂
@@ryanammenheuser4788 I mean, are you implying that a plane *is not* a plane?
a PLAIN is a PLAIN!
This is my first exposure to this film. I had no idea Maureen Ponderosa was a villan in this film!
This may be my favorite Pitch Meeting. It's the one I come back to most often.
On the topic of explaining why Steve has to be in someone's body:
"who's to say?"
"You are,"
"yeeahh :)"
You just know that someone said that to Patty Jenkins at some point.
I loved his "yeah"!!!🤣
The line delivery for that "yeeahh" was perfection. XD
@@Ciborium An her response would be '' Nahhh it will be fine '' .
Lol! I watched that part twice 🤣
This movie should've been called "WW: Get off my back"
And you, sir, win this Comment Section Award for Most Underrated Comment.
@Stella Hohenheim "WONDER WOMAN - LEAP OF LOGIC!"
She can leap logic with a single bound!
(Evidently she can now FLY OVER logic, ignoring it completely!)
(She also needs invisible planes so logic can't spot her and come after her!)
oh ok let me get off that thing!
The third movie "WW: Get all the way off my back".
He didn’t even mention all the people who were asleep, or the ones who weren’t looking at a screen. 😂
Yeah, too bad for the people at work away from a screen of any kind lmao.
That would have been me with my luck 😅
These Pitch Meetings, got to say they are one of a kind. Very entertaining. I like the fact that these are brutally honest about movies and television programs. Wonder Woman 1984 was, well, lets just say different than Wonder Woman by a lot.
"You know, there's an easy fix to that. Just have Steve appear as himself."
"No."
"Okay."
aaaaahhhh
How about get all the way of my back
It was weird as if the director thought that her flirting with the guy who got possesed would not be ever creepier!
yeah thats what they said....
hmh thats in the video
This movie was such a gift for you Ryan! 🤣
loving the passive aggressive side LOL.
No kidding. After watching it (hell, probably during too) I thought "How long will it be until we get a Pitch Meeting for this?"
Barely an inconvenience to write.
the thing that still annoys me is steve trevor keeps being called a pilot yet he wasn’t he was a spy for the british who flew a plane but he was never a pilot as his profession he only flew a plane twice and both times the plane clashed or blew up the original steve from the comics was a pilot but in the movie he was a spy
further proof is when he was captured by the amazon’s when he’s tied with the lasso when asked who he is he says he’s a spy
Such a gem of a pitch session!
In the first movie, she was told that if she left then she could never go back home. To me, this story would have been much better if she had wished she could go back home to Themescyra and then when her wish is granted, the downside is that it opens that world up to the outside world and then her home is invaded. So, she has to renounce her wish, even though it means that once again, she would never be able to see her mom or her fellow Amazonians. But she renounces it, knowing that she has to in order to keep the people she loves most safe.
...But then again, if you went that route then you couldn't have Chris Pine back :/
This is among my favorite pitch videos!
I’ve never heard him say “get off my back” so aggressively.
So touchy. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
desperate times
Maybe because he kept getting on that thing
@Frothbyte I think it's only tipped by the saucy eyes looking at the Twilight baby haha
Yeah well if you consider Parry Jenkins got VERY aggressive against the suits wanting to change stuff in the movie, then yeah it's kind of a throwback to her.
Wait. You’re telling me that supposedly *everyone* takes their wishes back. Not a single person decides to keep their wish and everyone just metaphorically holds hands and sings kum-ba-yah together.
That’s the solution they came up with? That’s literally the most unrealistic cartoony, ham-fisted thing I can think of and that’s what they went with?
This movie has so many plot holes, leaps of logic and puzzlingly weird decisions in it, I’d really love to see some BTS to shed light on just what happened to make this train wreck of a film.
I think since Max Lord renounced his wish, and he was the gem, then everybody elses wished would have been renounced.
@@crossbone321 Nope. Diana asked the world to renounce their wishes.
There won't be BTS
I believe this is ones the last movies produced under the old DC leadership, so.... DC happened. lol
No they don't do that. I'm not sure why anyone thinks they do.
Ok so after watching 107 of these screen rants. This is the one that broke me down laughing into tears. Thank you for this gem
Yet to see the movie and eight minutes of watching this and I can see how easy it would be to have improved
Amazonians: “Cheating is wrong”
Wonder Woman: “Cheeta is wrong”
Lmao
well spotted
You butchered it. Why did Wonder Woman win the fight against so-and-so? Because she was a Cheetah.
Thundercats: Hoooooooo!!!
ww and black panther gonna have problems good thing they wont ever meet haha
- Who's to say?
- You are!
- Yeah...
^ this needs to be a new catchphrase for Pitch Meetings :)
I think it is, it was in the power ranger pitch meetings. I hope it stays
I wholeheartedly agree
This is my favorite part of this video. Specialy the way he says "Yeah".
Omg is the first time I am watching you, bro you are so funny and right to the point , awesome !!
I laughed far too hard at this one. This is my favourite pitch meeting by far!
This is better than the actual film.
I TOTALLY AGREE... Lol.😆
sadly😕
Always has been.
This comment is *tight*
AMEN BROTHER... SING IT SO THAT EVERYONE SEES IT
Ikr I couldn't Finnish it, it was so bad
"She can take off her glasses."
"that's just good character development is what that is."
This guy is really good at these analyses. I am always entertained.
I really enjoy these Pitch Meetings. Great writing. Here's a thought. . . and you did one. . . Other absurd movies like Sharknado. Sharktopus, Whalewolf, Pteracuda, all the Roger Corman stuff. I think you could have fun with it. Thanks!
Good job no-one ever said "I wish I'd never been born."
Seems like the best thing about this movie is it's given us the best Pitch Meeting to date...
If someone wished they'd never been born, it would turn into an infinitely better movie... _It's a Wonderful Life._
What about Freddy mercury?
Twilight series, was the world series of pitch meetings. He was pitching a shutout!! Yes I am pitching to be in a pitch meeting series!! It would be super easy, barely an inconvenience!!
Yea this one is up there
Good thing no one wished for the Earth to explode, or all human life die, or cartoon characters to become real, or Godzilla to go on a rampage, or for Freddy Kruger to become real... or any number of actually imaginative wishes.
"There's a billion people around the world"
"You're just full of trivia tonight"
“There are billions of people”*
These Pitch Meetings are the funniest videos I've seen in years! I love it!
Although I haven't seen the movie, this pitch meeting was one of my favourites 😂
If you watch it, do it ironically. Cuz these will be your faces throughout: 🤨😵💫😮💨😶
"A plane is a plane. Are you implying a plane isn't a plane because a plane is a plane." My favourite bit...
Fast so geil wie das 4:4 gegen Schalke
@@doncorleole2356 Derby Bilanz diese Saison 7:0 für uns...
That was actually my least favorite bit cuz it made me cringe
DON'T YOU DARE DOUBT IT!!!
Haaland to Chelsea
One person wished to die, and they can't unwish it, congrats movie over.
I never thought about that
@@duolightningproductionstud1435 Neither did the writers
Dang...tht is...uhh..actually im pretty sure somebody would wish tht
Let's face it, expecting every last person to renounce their wishes because WW made a speech was ridiculous.
Shhh that is a hole in the plot
This was your best one ever Ryan! THE BEST!
I will consider this me having seen the movie lol
