I want that mug. It would be good for making chocolate milk or more importantly, making Matcha Lattes. Matcha is hard to stir in all the way with just a spoon. This mug stirs well enough to do matcha and it foams!
+Thomas Hardy Looks like a pain to use too. No real handle, gotta make sure rear wheel follows front, need a large cutting board for the wheel that is not on pizza, and, speaking of pain, no blade guards combined with insecure grip. Looks kinda flimsy. No improvement over a good wheel that cuts in one pass. And with a wheel you can do a chop start thru the outer crust.
barry. barry, barry, barry. the self-stirring mug is not for people like you. people who do things proper. they're for people like me. we don't use spoons for measurements. we dump a load of powder and a load of liquid in the mug and hope our estimation results in something resembling a beverage.
I completely lost it when the fries (chips) flew out and landed on the floor! I laughed for a good 5 minutes over that one! And the men and banana holder at the end? Priceless! Not the gadgets, but the commentary! LOL
for the self stir mug i think it's really useful, actually. people that have movement disorders or carpal tunnel will most likely get the most use out of it. even they they can hold onto the spoon in order to put the coffee in the actual struggle of having to spin it around may be difficult. a lot of these gadgets i feel like are more geared towards people that have trouble doing every day task that we take for granted. so it's kind of bother some seeing people make fun of it or talk about how useless it is. (not you in particular but in general)
I feel like the self-stirring mug would actually be quite nice for mixing powder-based beverages. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to get all the granules to dissolve, and this product seems like it's much more effective at fully combining the drink than stirring with a spoon is.
The Self Stirring Mug would make a great thick, coffee cream to pour atop your coffee or hot beverage. You just put about 1/4 cup of heavy cream or whipping cream into the mug and let it go to work until the cream gets thick. Pour over your coffee and top with ground cinnamon or cocoa powder. I used something similar and it was great!
I can see the self stirring mug being very useful for people that struggle with co-ordination, and honestly is something I would use for mixing things like chai and hot chocolate that take an age to dissolve with a spoon. I was expecting it to make an unpleasant BVVVVVVRRRR sound, but it's actually near silent aside from the liquid gurgling, might try and get one that's got a nice design on it though, not one that self proclaims how much of a lazy git I am c:
Just got home from the doctor's and found out I have a ligament strain in my thumb (which is quite painful) and will have to wear a stabilizer for a couple of weeks, but watching this video has given my a couple of giggles which I needed. You also used a couple of gadgets that I wondered if they worked, now I will go out and get them. Thanks for all your hard work.
I could see the use for a self-stirring mug. Say you're out camping, and you don't wanna lug around a bag of used, wet stirring spoons. Nifty little thing then.
For the mug most people have coffee machines so the coffee grains are already mixed with the water so when you put your milk and sugar in you use the mug to mix it
I know this was 3 years ago but I'd thought I'd add this in anyway. In England, it's more common to use instant coffee. You can get a coffee maker, but it's not as common as, let's say, America.
i think the main use for the Self-Stirring mug is if you're drinking your coffee slowly over a long period of time (like you would if you are working a desk job) it'll start to separate a bit this lets you keep it warm (which is why it has the lid) and stir it without having to take the lid off or get a spoon.
I have a veggie/potato slicer from the 70's. Got it from grandma when I first got married. It cuts thick/thin slices and fries and I love this thing. You cannot kill it, we've dropped it, hit it, even accidentally dropped it out of a truck bed when moving and it still works great.
well funny lol I have a banana cutter its a godsend for me being disabled and diabetic I have a frozen fruit desert maker its so easy to make diabetic ice cream without the rip off prices at the supermarket thumbs up
I have one of those self stirring mugs, love it lol. Guess it is a bit pointless as you already are holding a spoon to add sugar etc but do like how it throths up the coffee or hot chocolate etc, pretty easy to clean too.
Barry, I absolutely love your videos always get excited when I see you've posted :) been watching your videos for a long time hope you continue to make videos for a long time. Thanks Barry!!!😁❤️
Fairly new to the channel (it's relaxing to have a mini barathon before bed or while doing homework) but I just came upon this video and I'm having really bad deja vu. So I'm guessing I watched it years ago and didn't subscribe but now am rediscovering the channel and I love it!!
I have those scissors. You can use the slotted green case for the blade to scrape herbs out as well. Works great for leafy herbs like parsley and fresh basil.
I ended up buying one to make coffee at work because I work in a warehouse and there's nothing but a hot water supply and your self supplied powder for all your coffee needs. Caramel latte powder with hot chocolate powder is quite good when you're falling asleep mid morning at work
I have the self stiring mug as I got it for Christmas and it is really good as I have a joint condition and can’t stir drinks very well as it hurts my joints and it has really helped
I had a self stirring mug about 15 years ago. Was great for drinks like Hot Chocolate (especially in Australia, we tend to use Milo which needs a bit of encouragement to end up as Hot Chocolate) and Mocha where you can get things settling at the bottom of the mug.
The little guys that let steam out, that's actually a good idea. I always hate offsetting the lid because it always lets the steam condense and drip down onto the coils on my cook top and sizzles, but with this the steam will condense and just drip back into the pot, neat invention.
I was very confused when I was at an American restaurant and they asked if I wanted my burger with chips and I actually got it served with crisps. Who eats their burger with crisps XD .
That person being so proud it self cleans as well, i love these videos, but the brilliant reviews on Amazon as well XD I laugh so hard every time :') I hope this is a thing for every product!
I do have to admit, I bought the self stirring mug for my dad. However he uses it for powder packs of latte macchiato, he even asked me for a second one when the first one broke because apparently the powder doesn't collect in the bottom and if it does, he can just give it a little whirle with the cup
the self stirring mug is pretty useful in the office where the coffee, sugar, and cream substitute all come in individual packages, you just add water. Its mess free since you dont have to use a stirrer or a spoon. this is not lazyness to me, it helps me keep my office desk clean. I think this product is office intended. I like it. just for the office though, not for home.
My Mom would have loved that self stirring mug,God rest bless her soul, she love International coffee's and had a mini battery operated whisk to stir it,not that she was lazy she just liked the novelty of it.
The self stirring mug is just a bit of fun. It does a really good job of frothing and if you have a sachet you're not using a spoon so it saves cleaning on that. Also a bit of safety for those of us clutzy types who get the spoon in the eye when leaving the spoon in there for later re-stirring.
As a disabled foodie, some of the cutting tools do save my fingers. I swear by my 'Nicer-Dicer' when cooking. Bit tricky for larger things, but works a treat on most things.
I could have used those little men yesterday! I was making orzo pasta and not only did I make a COMPLETE mess of the stove, I VACUUM-SEALED the lid to the pan. I needed my adoptive mom to unlock the lid, so I could drain the pasta!!
I have three self stirring mugs they are awesome for chocolate milk and for keeping my coffee from settling at the bottom since I use espresso coffee and a lot of the granules get settled at the bottom.
That type of infrared thermometer has been the single most used thing in my kitchen (after pots, pans, etc. obviously). It's perfect for making sure my pans etc. are up to temp (when shooting for serious 250-300 celsius temps on cast iron for example), checking temperatures of meat taken out of the fridge, making sure beers are cold enough, using them as a candy thermometer, measuring deep frying oil temperatures, etc. Sure other types can do all that too, but not anywhere near as quickly and effortlessly. =)
Been meaning to watch this run on kitchen gadgets for months but I kept forgetting, now I know old vid but thought I'd give my review on that self stirring mug. I got one before they sort of took off and my opinion was good at first but after a few uses it gave up, I still have it sits on a shelf with other gizmos.
I get the idea of wanting to stir the contents of the self stir mug since you already have a spoon handy, but it could be useful for those "on the go" where you don't want to carry a spoon around, which it did come with a lid as well so that may have been the idea.
"The banana slicer can be used by people with disabilites"...and then here I am, not disabled, just too lazy to cut banana. 😁 I love that slicer. And apple slicer is also very good gadget.
The stirring mug I believe is useful for when it settles at the bottom n stuff so you wont need the spoon. It's actually really useful, as I've had hot chocolate/cocoa settle while I sip away at it on the PC.
The self stirring mug would be good for homemade hot chocolate, I find sometimes the chocolate settles on the bottom
+Michele Sharp Yeah and some mixes are hard to stir, I find it very useful
That's exactly what I was thinking as I always have to keep a spoon in my hot choc to stir it while I drink it or it's all at the bottom
I want that mug. It would be good for making chocolate milk or more importantly, making Matcha Lattes. Matcha is hard to stir in all the way with just a spoon. This mug stirs well enough to do matcha and it foams!
Laughed out loud at the chips flying on the floor.
the banana review XD because adding texture adds flavour XD im dying
+Daniel White notjust any ol' texture *Crinkles*
Is he British
+Le _palta yes he is
+Daniel White Nearly all of the reviews for the banana slicer are "comedy reviews" but they give it a bad score, which is sad...
eh oOoO. ! ! !!! !!lo!ooiffggh b. nnnhnmbpoiu6
The scissors are actually also really good for the occasional document destruction.
Jorji! My man!
Where is your entry permit?
(DENIED)
Your weight is off! **DETAINED**
+Pawel Korzeniewski You cannot carry drugs through the border! *DETAINED*

I'd love to see a video comparing the many quirky tea infusers out there
yes!
I agree a lot
I have one that has a float on top shaped like a Lilly pad and frog. it's fun and quirky!
+Sam Mason I have a tardis and a little house
😁
"You need a spoon to put the coffee granules in"
Who drinks instant coffee unless they are camping or in stalingrad?
+Mush sadly I have a strange taste in coffee and prefer instant to the flashy stuff
Everyone I know...
My Virgin Kitchen Fair enough, different strokes for different folks.
+Mush instant coffee is really popular here in the uk I always have instant its lush!
tassimo is where its at. plus you get to have a very over engineered coffee machine in your kitchen.
No time is too early or late for pizza
That pizza cutter looks like a pain to clean
+Thomas Hardy haha yeah could get all over the frame I reckon!
+My Virgin Kitchen It does look like fun though
I thought this was a pun...pain is French for bread. At least I amused myself
+Thomas Hardy Looks like a pain to use too. No real handle, gotta make sure rear wheel follows front, need a large cutting board for the wheel that is not on pizza, and, speaking of pain, no blade guards combined with insecure grip. True

+Fraxxxi Yeah I also think it's good for things like tea where you just have a bag and don't need a spoon
It would be good to have a self stirring mug for hot chocolate when all of the powder settles at the bottom
by then though, it's cold chocolate and unless you made it with milk, cold chocolate is disgusting. but that's just my opinion.
Danielle Pochurek i love cold chocolate milk
This is how lazy people have gotten. Just stir it yourself 😂🤦♀️❤️
I completely lost it when the fries (chips) flew out and landed on the floor! I laughed for a good 5 minutes over that one! And the men and banana holder at the end? Priceless! Not the gadgets, but the commentary! LOL

Question if you have no arms to push the button wouldn't it be easier to put a spoon in your mouth and stir then have a straw next to you...
@@emmarose3901 Then a self-stirring mug is of no use to someone with no hands.
I feel like the self-stirring mug would actually be quite nice for mixing powder-based beverages. Sometimes it can be quite difficult to get all the granules to dissolve, and this product seems like it's much more effective at fully combining the drink than stirring with a spoon is.
put water with black food dye in the self sturring mug add sparkles, black hole
Here because I recognized your hat from Ashens and The Polybius Heist! Wonderful!
Wouldn't the self stirring mug speed up the cooling down process too?
The Self Stirring Mug would make a great thick, coffee cream to pour atop your coffee or hot beverage. The origin story of Chef Assistance! :P
I could see the use for a self-stirring mug.
Say you're out camping, and you don't wanna lug around a bag of used, wet stirring spoons.
Nifty little thing then.
Arent you supposed to put the little man on the pan the other way around so it looks like he is climbing out of the pan.
Irma lol
Don’t know but I want them lol
They sell those mugs at my local store. I always joked about buying it, but was hesitant to it's uses. Glad to see someone reviewing it.
For the mug most people have coffee machines so the coffee grains are already mixed with the water so when you put your milk and sugar in you use the mug to mix it
I'm glad he mentioned that the seemingly useless items can be helpful for people with limited mobility. They get overlooked too often. Thank you
It's never to early to pizza Barry
Is there a knife version of the scissors?
Yeah there are some on Amazon
IrmaU94 like regular knives but it would save time?
Instant coffee? Barry, you deserve better than that, never let anyone tell you differently.
He prefers it
I know this was 3 years ago but I'd thought I'd add this in anyway. In England, it's more common to use instant coffee. You can get a coffee maker, but it's not as common as, let's say, America.

The self stirring mug is for like when you make a proper pot of coffee not the other kind lol
As elf stirring mug makes sense think about instant hot chocolate add your water and mild no utensils needed then stir!
People might not be drinking instant coffee so they wouldn't have a spoon ;)
I have a veggie/potato slicer from the 70's. Got it from grandma when I first got married. It cuts thick/thin slices and fries and I love this thing. You cannot kill it, we've dropped it, hit it, even accidentally dropped it out of a truck bed when moving and it still works great.

OMG, I laughed so hard when you sprayed the potatoes out of the cutter!
The potato cutter reminds me of a play-dough toy
Yeah it does
1:44 I don't know why, but I like whenever an Englishperson says "froo"
It's actually 1:45
The Queen has a couple of rips in her dress. Fallen on hard times, has she?
Na. Probably fell on his pizza scissors.
ITS NEVER TOO EARLY FOR PIZZA.
FACT: its never too early for pizza
I have one of those self stirring mugs, love it lol. Guess it is a bit pointless as you already are holding a spoon to add sugar etc but do like how it throths up the coffee or hot chocolate etc, pretty easy to clean too.
yay! two cooking videos in my sub box within 5 minutes

The cup works great with instant coco that settles on bottom and it cools drinks rather well also when your coffee is to hot.
I'm new here. Can someone explain what Her Majesty is doing in the kitchen?

Hahaha, first thought about the coffee mug was it would be great when you need beaten eggs!
oh good idea
+Ang O that is actually a really good idea!
I laughed so hard when he started to play with those little men... The human centipede part was hilarious.
You know the cup mixer when it makes a vortex i just thought he would spray woppedcream
Like if you agree
Love love love all the gadgets featured. Great job Barry!
I thought the banana handle was to save bananas not fully eaten
Life Hacking lol same 😂😂
Who opens a banana and doesn't eat it all?
I have those scissors. You can use the slotted green case for the blade to scrape herbs out as well. Works great for leafy herbs like parsley and fresh basil.
I figure the self stirring mug is good for when you are at an office and the creamer and sugar are in packets
Must be good for hot chocolate
Or a 3 in one coffee. I use mine for powdered green tea.
I ended up buying one to make coffee at work because I work in a warehouse and there's nothing but a hot water supply and your self supplied powder for all your coffee needs. Caramel latte powder with hot chocolate powder is quite good when you're falling asleep mid morning at work

Lmbo! I really like these gadget videos.....too funny! But on a serious note.....I must now purchase the herb scissors!!!!

Your head was made for bowler hats!
I really like your view about these products being created for people who can't do seemingly simple things
not everyone uses coffee crystals lol we just u coffee and cream
Chrisanna Fabela coffee crystals?
Just found your channel, watched part 1,2, and 3 of kitchen gadget reviews, and I love it! You got yourself a new sub 😃
As a male, a "banana slicer" does not sound pleasant...
Lol
Omg lmao
He could've saved the cash and brought on special guest Lorena Bobbitt instead.
We call it circumcision
+shadowthehh2 how about cigar cutter
The little guys that let steam out, that's actually a good idea. I always hate offsetting the lid because it always lets the steam condense and drip down onto the coils on my cook top and sizzles, but with this the steam will condense and just drip back into the pot, neat invention.
wait fries in Britain are chips???
Yup. And chips are crisps.
I was very confused the first time my english teacher told me that french fries are called chips.
Mind blowned...
I was very confused when I was at an American restaurant and they asked if I wanted my burger with chips and I actually got it served with crisps. Who eats their burger with crisps XD .
this is the first video I've ever seen by this guy
and my first impression: wow, so British he keeps the queen in his kitchen
That would be freaking amazing if a mug could turn water into guinness.
I love these types of videos you do !! I hope you do more in the future Barry x
Oh my goodness! My son wanted one of these bike pizza cutters and I am so happy to see you use it!
That self-stirring mug would be great for hot chocolate; that way all of the mix won't sink to the bottom while you're slowly sipping it by the fire.
The self stirring mug is good in the morning for freshly brewed coffee, less noise by stirring and less teaspoons to wash.
That person being so proud it self cleans as well, i love these videos, but the brilliant reviews on Amazon as well XD I laugh so hard every time :') I hope this is a thing for every product!
As an American I can't get over him saying chips, herbs, and crickey! LOL
I like it. just for the office though, not for home.
Just found your channel. A bit late to the party, but loving it. Great sense of humour!
Those human looking things are adorable. I'm still laughing over the look of it in the pot xD. Thanks for the amazing video!
As a disabled foodie, some of the cutting tools do save my fingers. I swear by my 'Nicer-Dicer' when cooking. Bit tricky for larger things, but works a treat on most things.
The Bowler Cap Collander - Pleasing Pastafarians Everywhere! Seriously though I need to get my hubby one of those he'd love it xD
Idk if I'm the only one, but I love the way your refrigerator looks.
I could have used those little men yesterday! I was making orzo pasta and not only did I make a COMPLETE mess of the stove, I VACUUM-SEALED the lid to the pan. I needed my adoptive mom to unlock the lid, so I could drain the pasta!!
The self stirring mug could be handy with that travel lid for drinks that have a tendency to settle, like hot chocolate and some coffees.
I have three self stirring mugs they are awesome for chocolate milk and for keeping my coffee from settling at the bottom since I use espresso coffee and a lot of the granules get settled at the bottom.

How good is the self stirring mug with instant soup? Does it leave the same lumps you get when you stir it with a spoon?
The review for the bowler hat colander killed me it was so funny! Lol! PASTAFARIANS!
I love that cut-out of the queen. I would have hours of fun putting it in peoples windows.
The link for the "little men" at the end of the vid doesn't work. Dang!
I get the idea of wanting to stir the contents of the self stir mug since you already have a spoon handy, but it could be useful for those "on the go" where you don't want to carry a spoon around, which it did come with a lid as well so that may have been the idea.
