I have the D2, 500 miles on it so far. I mostly use the torque sensor, but if I get too tired or have pain, or just want a fun easy ride then I use the cadence. I got the suspension seatpost, and a Cloud9 seat. It is quiet, if I don't alert people when I come up from behind, I scare the hell out of them. There are a lot of assist levels and a decent gear range on this bike, it can ride just like a bike, or it can ride like a moped, very adjustable and easy to use.
@markm6488 Same thing here. When using the torque sensor it is really quiet, and coming up on unsuspecting people real easy. Love the cadance when I just want to cruise and see the surroundings or talk with a fellow rider while riding.
My daughter lives in San Diego. We went out there in the spring to see her. The biking infrastructure out there is way better than the nonexistent that we have up here.
Looking forward to meeting you. And I am very nervous also. I am hoping it’s a X peak pinion gear bike if it is, I will be reaching out to my buddy and seeing if I can get at least a discount on it if not for free. They have actually sent me a trike before so I’m hoping. But honestly one way or another it will be ordered I believe pinion geared bikes are the wave of the future. They need to come down and price and they will.
So when I asked them what type of riding I would be doing to make sure I brought the right gear, he said basically what I am doing now, but with moderate off roading. So I am thinking a an EMTB, or XPeak 2.0.
Some folks like different types of riding. Some like mountain biking and just cruising, so they get a bike for each sport. I have multiple because companies send them to me for UA-cam reviews.
Is there a way to secure the bike if course in combination with an actual lock? Like on my Lectric you need the key to start, and the Lectric xpress you can power down the battery and lock it up so no one can turn it on without the keys to unlock the battery to turn the battery on. I was wondering if the discover 2 has some type of locking feature, as I understand the key is just to simply remove the battery.
Only knock on cadence sensor from UA-camrs , is it’s harder to make sharp uturns with. If you have a torque sensor with cruise you can have an easy ride.
@garywillhoit Yes, a U-tune is not suggested while pedaling a cadance sensor bike. I have said it many times in previous videos to either get off the bike and turn it around, or use your feet with no power to turn it around on bike paths or tight trails.
Cadence is also more difficult if you are trying to ride with analog bikers or people with different settings on their cadence sensor ebikes. You are constantly on the brakes trying to stay next to other people. But I need it due to leg muscle issues, so having the option of both sensors is a big plus for me. After the firmware update can you toggle on the fly between sensor types right on the TFT display or do you have to do it on your phone?
I updated my firmware for my D2 - the one with the cad sensor. I absolutely hate it and now it’s so buggy. My battery jumps all over the place and in torque sensor the PAS assistance means nothing now.
Sorry to hear that. I have not had any issues on mine after updating the firmware. The torque sensor performs like it did before the update and the cadence sensor seems to work like all other cadence sensor bikes I have ridden. Try giving Velotrics technical support a call or email. Maybe they know how to fix it and make it good again for you.
I HAVEN'T RODE A BIKE IN OVER 40 YEARS I'M 76 I JUST ODERED A NEW EBIKE SAME ONE YU ARE RIDING WITCH WOULD BE EASYER FOR ME CADANCE OR TORQE I DON'T CARE ABOUT EXCERSICE
Cadence would be better than Torque if you have health issues or knee problems. However, having a torque could also aid in the healing process than riding a normal, non-electric bike. You may want to talk to your health care provider and see what they would recommend for you. However, Velotric makes it easy by allowing you to switch between cadence or tongue at a moments notice, so you can always switch back and forth as necessary!

@theridewithlance I get a kick out of putting it in cadence / boost5 and just ripping effortlessly sometimes.😅
@@markm6488 Yeap. Me too.
Great subject for new bike riders. You did well explaining things. 🚴♂️

Its pretty good up here in the bay area to, but could be improved.
Nice ride Lance
@@Rip1Outdoors Thank you
Such a nice ride
It really was.

No need to fear a cadence sensor, for newbies, you start off on PAS 1 and increase it as you ride along and get used to the bike.
@pedrofernandez8729 Exactly. No need to fear it, just start easy.
I feel it’s a Home Run when you have the tracking number 😂
Yeap, I think the same thing.
Nice
@@philrc1 Thanks
Can you see the new TFT display well with (polarized) sunglasses?
Yes.
I’m curious, why do folks have multiple e-bikes?

No there is not. Just tradition means like cables, chains and wheel locks

Go to the menu option, and select restore factory setting. That should fix the problem.
Cadance isn’t a word.
Yeap, you got me on that. Fixed though.
