Mission failed, she spared a baby jellyfish metroid. Then, she killed all zebes metroids, her friend metroid from sr388 was killed by mother brain, then she killed an omega metroid in a huge spaceship Mission completed late
A shame what happens to that baby during its short life though… Samus abandons it to some scientists who poke and prod it until her return, when the baby Metroid dies protecting Samus in a fight with Mother Brain, and then as it’s last act in life it gives all the power it held back to Samus so she could finish the fight. A tragic, but heroic tale.
I took 3 months to do what you did in less then an hour. However, I was 9 years old and got ALL the missile upgrades. I know for sure you missed one on the ceiling in the second or third castle. You had to backtrack just to get it. Thanks for this video. The nostalgia was amazing!
The hidden passages in this game seem to be so much more elaborate then what they threw together in metroid fusion. Wondered why they didnt have the stickyball form.
This is now my head canon for her characters skill level. Ah, late 80's early 90's games. The passive aggressive punishment for losing health of that unholy god damn warning warble. Has there EVER been a canon explanation for why she starts over tech wise each time? Like each call catches her on laundry day? Though even THAT wouldn't explain why her tech is constantly ON each planet she's assigned a job to.
HotaruZoku for Metroid 2 she does keep her morphball and a large portion of her missiles. Thanks to Metroid prime and fusion it's assumed there's a malfunction half the time or her suit needs some upgrades which leads to removal of certain upgrades
after playing some am2r, i managed to finish m2 too... queen metroid was a bit hard. and the map seemed so complex to me i've got lost and been unable to proceed. some places were so similar to each other...
Deeloc32 have you never heard of a TAS? TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speed-run. No cheats are used. The emulator has a clocking feature that can slow the game down dramatically. I have seen STUPID Godly runs on games like super metroid, Mario, castlevania. Glitches and bugs are HIGHLY abused. Button presses can be made faster than any rapid fire cheat. What is real time to us can be made anywhere from half speed in game to 1/32nd of speed allowing for lighting movement and deadly accuracy.
Playing this game back when i was a kid gave me nightmares on some occassions. The b/w textures didn't help either, still remember playing it in the middle of the night with the special light set mount on the orginal gb. Damn those jumpscares xD
johanoern except in Super Metroid its either bosses or normal enemies, and only a few bosses at that... This has 40 Metroids to kill, which isn't as easy as TAS makes it out to be lmao.
ERROR. The manual states that SR388 is extremely tectonically active, having frequent earthquakes. Gameplay wise, they mean you've killed all the metroids in the area and the path previously blocked by the acid has been opened.
+Andres Acosta actually it is theorectically and humanly possible to beat this in under an hour while getting 100%, but we are still about two minutes off, but i thought i should point that out.
Fun fact, the developers for this game also made the gameboy color, they put in checks to see if it was playing Metroid II, and if it was, it used a special pallet made just for that game.
When i fought the queen metroid, it took 10 minutes.
When TAS fights the queen metriod, it takes 10 seconds.
I think I'm bleeding internally.
@Marcelo Zuniga its possible i didnt at the time lol
@Marcelo Zuniga I bet he appreciates you commenting 4 years after he made the comment
As a child, this game had the most intimidating final section. That fantastic track, the darker atmosphere, the complete change in scenery. Fantastic.
+Felix Gonzalez
And then Super Metroid happened a few hours later in-universe.
....it DID DIDN'T IT!
I love how when you get to the Queen and kill her so fast she doesn't drop her head anymore, it stays up and open in amazement.
Wasn’t that when you bombed her from inside if the final blow is a missile thought she just froze and disintegrated.
Beating the game in that time frame, she ought to be posing for Playboy...
"Samus! We need you to exterminate an entire species of extremely dangerous creatures!"
"Okay, i need just under an hour."
Mission failed, she spared a baby jellyfish metroid.
Then, she killed all zebes metroids, her friend metroid from sr388 was killed by mother brain, then she killed an omega metroid in a huge spaceship
Mission completed late
I forgot to mention that some metroids from this huge spaceship were killed by sa-x
@Soarse It's a spacestation
@@felps_4500 thanks, I don't know the name of certain things and im not a native English speaker
I didn't know a Gameboy game could sound so.... atari-like.
The fact that all the beam upgrades are next to each other is really amazing to me.
It's just like you want to be op in 5 seconds OK sure.
There not upgrades in this game, you have to choose which one you want.
That has to be the cutest ending sequence ever. Baby Metroid in tow! =3
A shame what happens to that baby during its short life though…

@@nicholashernandez4611 don't forget about saving her from dying to the X Parasite

I did skip that, good point. Thank you.
Damn this takes be back, I used to play this in the car while my mom would run errands
Gets the space jump. uses deadly spike obstacle instead to walljump. Never change, speed runners, you delicious crazy bastards.
oh dear the memories, how they torment me
Anybody else watching this just for the soundtrack with sound effects?
0:30 - 1:08 through that time samus's firing actually syncs up with some music~
Beyond the big first theme, god this games soundtrack is crunchy

This was one of my first GB games and probably the most-played (out of 20 or so) after LoZ:LA.
The hidden passages in this game seem to be so much more elaborate then what they threw together in metroid fusion. Wondered why they didnt have the stickyball form.

Most of the planets shes been to were originally inhabited by the Chozu or by other species that the Chozu met.
That error sound when getting hit seems hilariously out of place.
Love this game, wish the DX version came out
7 years later.

Also, savestates are abused too to ensure the RNG (random number generation) doesn't fuck the TAS Runner over.
Could never finish this fucking game.
Just finished it... Queen Metroid is fucking BRUTAL
lAMZELLO jup but you can usa a bug ^^
It took 8 years for me to finish this game. From 98 I was 9 years old till 06 I was 17. Without help from UA-cam videos ;-)
Playing this game back when i was a kid gave me nightmares on some occassions. The b/w textures didn't help either, still remember playing it in the middle of the night with the special light set mount on the orginal gb. Damn those jumpscares xD
Were the Gemma Metroids also some severe-as-fuck nightmare fuel for you or was it just me? 😆
My best time when i was a kid is 1:14. Fantastic run.
I never knew I was playing the game wrong. I ran around most of the time.
Wtf it's so weird that all the beams are right next to eachother
It’s cuz you swap beams in M2 (unlike SM & others in which you actually collect & combine them)
Great playing! Haven't played this game before but it suddenly struck me how similar this game is to super Metroid.
johanoern except in Super Metroid its either bosses or normal enemies, and only a few bosses at that... This has 40 Metroids to kill, which isn't as easy as TAS makes it out to be lmao.
That's not an accident. Just about every series trope came from this game. Jump ball, Varia Suit, spiderball, it heavily influenced Super.
27:45 what is that beeping... tone, and what does it represent, or symbolize, or what does it track?
28:12 and what is the rumbling?
ERROR Samus' health dipped below 50

Dang TAS, stop making this look easy. XD
the only reason i am not able to beat this game without help is because i am always getting lost :')
Funny this Metroid has no backtracking and new areas open up Only after clearing a zone of metroids.
How do you do the thing were you jump, but get launched down?
Run/jump right, bounce/roll as a ball left.
Is there some reasoning behind this?
You beat this in under 1 hour? (turns into TF2 Heavy) IS NOT POSSIBLE!!!!
+Andres Acosta actually it is theorectically and humanly possible to beat this in under an hour while getting 100%, but we are still about two minutes off, but i thought i should point that out.
5:20 W H A T
48:17 Youuuuuuuuu wannnnnnnnt sommmmmmme offffffff 'dead'

damm, compared to metroid 1, this game is creepier and sad, graphically nicer, but minius the color makes it look boring after a while.
Fun fact, the developers for this game also made the gameboy color, they put in checks to see if it was playing Metroid II, and if it was, it used a special pallet made just for that game.
it ture ending
420th like, this TAS is great.
How the fuck @ 21:15
This game looks like death
hey thumbs up if u think if samus would die if she wore a bikkini in outer space
