I love listening to you. Love that the birds make you happy. Thanks for awesome info and fun content.
I've watched lots of candle making channels and in my opinion yours is the best! You have so much passion and knowlege. You are a joy.. thank you for sharing with us.
Hi Simone! Thank you for your comment and kind words. A warm welcome to our UA-cam candle fam. Love and light always 💛🌱
Okay I hope this makes sense, but I get the feeling, after watching so many cande business videos, that you're a candle enthusiast who has a business, instead of these other youtubers who are business people who happen to make candles.
I would agree that my vantage point is more from the science background and interest in formulating the best candle I possibly can. My business has also supported me for the last 4+ years.
I’m on video #10 lol for the day. You back ground music 🎶 is so peaceful
I am delighted you’re enjoying these videos! Love and light always 💛🌱

Hi Allen, great video! I have a burning question about wooden wicks. Do you use them past 9% fragrance load? When using them, my candles go haywire with all fragrances when I do 10%(I am new, so 10% was the baseline I chose to start my first round of testing with)I am curing 8% right now. This is using makesy Virgin Coconut Soy. I really want to use wooden wicks as they give a more luxurious feel. Thank you!!!
Hi Joanne! Yes, I do often use them at with a 9-10% fragrance load and haven’t encountered issues in my beeswax, soy, and coco crème blend. I am not familiar with virgin coconut soy but what I would recommend is using the wick guide that Makesy has and choosing your wax (or something close to it) and seeing what they recommend because I think higher fragrance loads can work as long as the wick is good for your wax type. Hope this helps! Love and light always💛🌱
Hi Allen 😊 Thank you for sharing all this amazing and valuable content!! Do you have two different size/diameter tins? My tins have an inside diameter of 3 and 5/16 and I use 464 like you use for one of your collections, so I’m wondering how that size compares to yours. I will do my own testing, but I’m thinking the CD 12 won’t be big enough, so maybe the 14 will be the one.. but mainly I just want to know what size the inside diameter’s of the tin/s you’re using is/are 🤗
Thank you!!!!
Love and Light to you, always.
~ Heidi (Salt & Light)
Hi there! Yup, I’d recommend the CD-14 at least… possibly a CD 16 depending on the scent. My diameter is just over 3 inches inside the tins and I use almost always a CD-14 with pure 464 in these tins.
Very informative ❤️
Hi Pretty Is Me! Thank you very much for your comment. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything and I’m glad to do my best to answer from my experience. 🌱💛
wooden wick recommendation for a 3.5" 100 soy wax candle -TY
Have you tried the flaming candles wooden wicks? Wait are you saying all the companies are using maksey’s wicks but just being the distributor?
Hi Amber! Yes, to my knowledge, Makesy has the patent on wooden wicks and other companies purchase from them and resell. I have not tried ordering wooden wicks from Flaming Candle. Love and light 💛🌱
I have purchased tins from Flaming Candle and Aztec but I prefer ordering them from Aztec as damage rates have been much lower for me.
You don’t get black smoke with the .04/ wooden wicks?
Hi Tarot! Generally speaking, no. But with any candle, a very small amount of black smoke on occasion is considered normal. I would recommend using Makesy’s wicking guide to help you chose the best wicks for your wax type. Love and light always💛🌱
@@earthglow Thank you for your response. Usually makesy’s reference guide is geared towards their blends. In my experience dealing with wood wicks is TEST, TEST and TEST! Lol
Every wax blend reacts differently along with the fragrance oils react differently as well. I have used coco-apricot alone with beeswax and without it I’ve also used TW-30 soy Tart wax and I don’t like the smell soy produces. It does not give that luxury melt that coconut oils and waxes produce. I’m currently using a 90/10 ratio of coco-83 and beeswax and love that clear creamy look with the incredible smooth tops it produces. Not to mention the killer cold/hot throw it produces. In my experience using anything thicker than a .02 caused too much flame. But than again, I am using a softer wax.
Love the video! It’s exactly what I needed….and all of your products look amazing 🫶🏼
Hi Lauren! Thank you so much for your comment and a warm welcome to our UA-cam candle fam. Love and light always💛🌱
