- Atheist's Elements is a landmark album in the history of death metal, if not metal as a whole. 1993 will stand forever as a monument to the boldness of the innovators in metal, Atheist being a prime members of said innovators. While it's not a masterpiece, it's fun to listen to and will definitely get your mind moving.

I kind of want to see the timeline where atheist ended up just becoming an electric Latin jazz fusion band
To me this is there best record. The song structures especially the bridges, and transition riffs are just incredible.
Pretty cool retrospective on a very underrated album and band, thanks.
Thanks a lot for reviewing such a rare music phenomenon.
Samba Brisa is amazingly genuine. Great piece of Latin music
Mineral has always been my favorite on Elements
I love absolutely everything about this album. Hell, even the album cover is my av. I love all of Atheist's albums and Elements is my favorite by them. Another great early Tech Death band is Nocturnus/Nocturnus AD. The Key is an all time classic imo. Mike Browning reformed the band under the name Nocturnus AD and their 2019 release Paradox is incredible.
I've always said Nocturnus are like if Morbid Angel sung about scifi and were way more proggy. Very underrated band. I disagree about Paradox though, I thought it was a really weak release, albeit recorded very well which is something unfortunate about those older albums. There are some filmed full live performances uploaded on youtube too, which I only recently discovered.
Honestly it might be my favorite technical death metal album of all time, but I'm not sure. It's definitely in my top five though.
It’s a landmark for sure, a shame that the record is barely at all remembered for its contributions to death metal. It’s so much more focused than the previous records, and the latin jazz flavor differentiates them from peers like Cynic and Pestilence.
Awesome video
This band is so cool. Im not a huge death metal fan but their music is just so interesting, reminds me a bit of deaths last album which i also love.
i love reviews on albums, plz do more!
You reviewing this band got you a new sub.
11:53 "Что, блядь? Алкоголь!!1"
A famous piece of misheard metal lyrics.
If there’s one dm band that i can think of that comes to close to atheist as for being talent it’s spawn of possession
Please do a video about Nevermore!
It really bugs me that the album mix is so screwed. There are three separate rhythm guitar tracks, but they are all panned inward? Almost mono. One of the hardest instruments to EQ in a metal mix and have it punch just right is the bass guitar. But the bass sounds perfectly fine, actually it sounds fantastic. I don't know, the mix definitely needs a lot of work, guitars are clipping and have that AJFA low end that needs to be cut out. Toms and kick drum get kinda boomy as well. I just think an album that is brilliant as this needs a solid remix. Just EQ and panning, no drum replacement.
