- Innovative candle-making kits with different scents are the most environmentally friendly and fun way of recycling waste cooking oil, and you can do it right at home. A kit contains everything you need for making candles: powder for making wax with non-toxic scents, cotton wicks, a measuring spoon and detailed instructions. Apart from that, all you need is waste cooking oil and a microwave or a stove. Making candles is extremely simple and it will certainly provide great entertainment for the whole family, in addition to protecting our beautiful nature.
i will assume that's cocaine...
Your assumption is wrong. Our powder is much more affordable than this drug :-)
AlissonSv2 #BabyPowder 💡🤩💡
lol that's so funny...I was thinking same...why the bloody hell they wont say.
Same here. I thought its meth
@@mintemps7040 😜
🙄 like if u cant tell people what powder it is what's the use of a tutorial. Why not keep the method secret too🤷
Dear Maureen, the purpose of the video is simple and clear: to show how to use our product in order to make nice smelling natural candles from cooking oil. If we would reveal the composition of the powder, it would be almost like Coca Cola company is revealing its well guarded formula for Coke :-)
Because they’re scammers
Nobody is asking for the formula but damn at least say it's a product that you are selling. Are you TRYING to frustrate potential customers? Because if you can't tell by the comments....you are.
@@nadbo674 you are right, but I am sorry the title is tonally wrong of your video. Probably because English is not your mother tongue. That's okay of course, but change the title and nobody wants to know your secret powder's name after that I am sure. At least you can say it's a company secret. Right now you are suggesting to the whole World hey, you can make it at home. Of course that would be wonderful, because believe me we have enough of that shit. Pardon my French.
Having some basic chemistry knowledge, increase the carbon chain length in order to turn a fatty acid (plant oils and such) into a wax, which suggests a few possible reactions, assuming the powder isn't just paraffin, which judging by the powder, it's just paraffin
sorry, but this is not oilright! that magic powder makes this video a waste of time.
Sure wish I knew what the powder was! It sounds like it might be important!
Gunpowder
stearin
Cocaine
Stearic acid
I wish it was possible to let people know before they watch this video that it is total waste of time. You should better change the title of this video so that it makes sense. Scammers!!
Dear Shariq, even if you didn't immediately realize that the video represents a product (the product is actually called OILRIGHT make your own scented candle from waste cooking oil), there is no need to be offensive. Thanks for the comment anyway :-)
You can use baby powder or aroma powder guys...works.
where do you buy aroma powder ?
What kind of aroma powder by the way? Soo interesting
@@craft_itup try Hickory Smoke Powder or Powder Bubble Gum Denali
Really?? Answer asap leme try btw
Castor Oil Powder or Hydrogenated Castor Oil (HCO), also called Castor Wax.
I think someone forgot to add the type of powder
Thanks for the comment. The powder is patented, while its ingredients are a business secret. It is the part of the Oilright do-it-yourself kit for making candles from used cooking oils. More information is available on www.oilright.eu
@@nadbo674 This is just bullshit. It's either patented *or* secret. Since in the patent you have to describe how it works. I'm pretty sure, the patent number is also "secret", right?
Just to clarify, both a business secret and a patent can be fine business strategies. But if you claim both.. bullshit meter clings.
What powder be used) normal face powder or....
@@georgelionon9050 will it be on sale this powder? How could I order it?
I think the only powders to make the oil to gel are either agar, gelatin or cornflower. You should tell the people what you are using.
Thanks for the comment. The powder does not contain any of the following. Its composition is part of a business secret which cannot be disclosed to you. Thank you for your understanding.
@@nadbo674 but we really would like to know the ingredients, we can not just buy whatever or sell it to costumers, or teach it in school. Otherwise it is everything but right, sorry. Of course it would be wonderful if your solution would save the planet from so much oil waste.
@@zsuzsavandijk They can't do that. Got to get rich to help fellow humans protect the planet, one of the perks of capitalism. Patent everything, copyright everything, and all that. :D
Dude, if you don't re-use oil that you make home fries w/, you're an absolute tool in the kitchen. When the oil changes color, the flavor changes too - that's when you discard it. Any grandmother will tell you that.
ps: what magic 'powder' is that?.. lol
This is a great recycling idea too.
Thanks for your kind comment :-)
what type of thing is powder ? you mean like makeup . or are u just taking someomeones make up and using it for candles?! im lost
The powder is made up of two ingredients: 95% of powder consists of a completely natural ingredient that makes the oil solid and raises its melting point. The other 5% are fragrances (we use lab-made fragrances) that makes candles smell good.
I tried so many times and i have failed. I used olive oil and at the first attempt i used powder sugar and at 2nd and 3d cornflour. I waited untill the 80C°. I don't know why it didn't work and I followed the steps exactly. What do you think I'm doing wrong?
This made me laugh so much. Go watch some series of videos about organic chemistry to understand how basic household items work. The powder he used was a mixture of a long chained alcohol (probably lauryl alcohol) with sodium hydroxide (aka lye). Also the video cuts so many parts out, like the separation of glycerol or the most important which is in the title, the addition of aroma.
lol all that work!
I think that powder is paraffin, because candles must have paraffin
The powder is Paraffin Wax for Candle Making
Hi Mina, sorry but your answer is not correct, as there is absolutely no paraffin wax in our scented powder.
@@nadbo674 then what is it
i think it was stearic acid
It's telling us to buy the candle-making kit to have the secret powder. Or it might be a lye. *No pun intended XD
The video just shows how fragrant candles can be made from waste cooking oil with our product. We do not force anyone to buy it. Thank you for your understanding :-)
Im pretty sure that's powdered lye.. lye when mixed with cooking oil causes saponification and causes the oil to solidify.
Anything you ever want to make.. just add powder.
I would like to know the powder you used, what powder is it? I read all other comments are about the powder, I hope it was not intentional but just an error. Hope to see the name of powder mentioned in reply.
Powder is part of the OILRIGHT product to make your own candle from cooking oil. The content of the powder is our business secret and therefore we do not disclose its ingredients. Thank you for understanding
@@nadbo674 then don't post something nobody can make
@@evasyphus7436 Of yourse you can make it at home. You just have to order the kit from the company, that's all. Certainly you can't expect a company to tell you their business secret. Coca Cola doesn't disclose the ingredients they use either...
Powder????
That's triple pressed stearic acid
I used powdered sugar and it worked so well omg ty!
I think here gun powder is used😊
Powder of what????
Which powder?
What powder you added ?
what powder did u use?
That powder is oil solidifier
I used my grandpa's ash and it worked, ty!
is that magical powder is the candle wax powder right? Or something else start with letter C ?
Nice try, Kaori S. It is neither a wax nor a much more expensive powder starting with the letter C :-)
@@nadbo674 Castor Oil Powder or Hydrogenated Castor Oil (HCO)
so the scent is parafin and used cooking oil
i nthingk he use caustic soda to solidify the oil and turn it in to soap
Thanks for trying, but we don't use the caustic soda for oil coagulation/solidification
is the powder coconut wax?
Nice try, Jassein:-) We do not use coconut wax powder but we suggest you try this wax and let us know your findings. The plant we use for candle making grows in Europe, in the warmer parts of the Mediterranean.
Hey
I tried ur website but the powder is only available in a kit. Do you sell it alone?
Thnx.
Thanks for trying! The scented powder is an integral part of a product called Oilright make your own scented candle. In addition to the powder, the product also contains instructions, a measuring cup, wick holders and wicks. We can send you only powder, but you will at least need wicks and instructions. How much powder would you like to have?
Thank you for ur reply and thank you for your product i love the idea of recycling.
Please help me understand:
- the powder itself without the kit is already scented or you can provide it neutral? If so will i be able to add fragrance oil to the mix and can i add it before or after the addition of the powder?
- if the required wick is the regular 100% cotton then i have it unless a certain wick material is needed. Kindly advise.
- in a rough calculation ( correct me if i am wrong) the scoop is about 17,5 g multiplied by 3 = 52.5 g per 100 ML. Then let’s say - + 550g for 1 Liter
I would like to order 1.5 Kg as a trial to test the performance with color and F.O addition HT and CT (if applicable).
Thank you for highlighting the price for 1.5 Kg and for bulk ordering/ minimum quantity and please take into account the possibility to deliver to Algeria (Africa).
Kindly note that i am not a company, i am a hobbyist but i would like to consider if my final piece is cost efficient in comparison to the semi refined Paraffin that is available in my market so i have a clear idea to consider if i go towards production.

What do you mean by powder???
Powder is a term for a mixture of a natural material that causes oil to coagulate and a fragrance. It is a major component of our Oilright product. You can find out more at www.oilright.eu
What is the powder?
is it doable for palm oil?
Thanks for your question. We tried different vegetable oils (sunflower, rapeseed, olive ...) and the results were always good. We didn't do any experiments with Palm oil, but in our opinion the result should be very similar.
The powder is Sodium hydroxide
Thank you
That way you'd just make soap
I used milk powder and it worked and is also edible candle omg innovative! Thanks!
I used heroine powder and it worked omg tysm!
the used oil should be darker
The waste cooking oil may or may not be darker than the one shown in the video. The color mainly depends on the number of uses, the type of food and the method of preparation. The waste oil shown in the video is indeed oil left over after making the fries. Before use, we cleaned it through one layer of paper kitchen towels.
I used laxative powder and worked! Tysm!
What is the temp. In heating?
Our material melts at a temperature of about 75 degrees. This means that the oil must have a temperature of around 80 degrees Celsius.
DUDE TELL WHAT POWDER U R USINGGGGGG ):(
What powder that you use?

Is the powder baking powder?
MiCh43L m3 I’m thinking #BabyPowder.
No, MiCh43L m3, it's not a baking powder
It's cocaine.
That was a candle hardener
where do I get the powder?
I don't even know what the powder is...
It looks like mix of gelatin and cornflour. 🤔
Good guess :-) We do not use the mix of materials you mentioned, even though we initially tried to use seaweed gelatin (Agar agar), but we were not the most satisfied with the result

Not enough dislike
I think it would have saved you a lot of Hastle and pissed off potential customers if you just said oilright powder. Sorry, but this poorly-executed AD, isn't going to get you any favors.
Liza, thanks for the very constructive comment. If your proposal solves the problem, we will be happy to implement it. The video is not an advertisement for our product, but only a video with instructions on how to use our Oilright product (btw: we sell it exclusively in Slovenia). Unfortunately, we live in a time when people no longer have time to read due to the incredible amount of different information. If they would read the description next to the video, they would know that the powder is an integral part of the product and and not any other powder (washing powder, soda, cocaine ...) :-)
