    Wow, this story was so well researched; From the farms, to the textile workshops, to the warehouses, inside the air cargo plane(extra credit) upto the destination. Now that's what I call great reporting. And in each case, a senior person was interviewed giving awesome facts and figures, I feel very informed. This is the Chams Media kind of content I love to see.

      @@Chwamwada You're most Welcome Alex. And I say this because on a "slow news day" you sometimes do some hurriedly piece-to-camera interviews without much content. Case in point, that "Vitu Mob Mzungu speaking English" interview. I didn't find any content in a white man speaking Swahili, it's like a black man speaking English in the US. I am hoping that's a pre-quel to a lengthy research on how his website works about how items are bought online, requests received by Vitu Mob, and the package's journey from start to end showing how they receive the items, ship them, decide pricing, Weight, safety, duration, etc just like in this textiles video. I know you're working on that.

    Another excellently done video. Thanks Chams Media for this insightful and eye opening episode. If sh.60B is just 8% of our Textile potential, this means we are sleeping on a potential $7.5B Dollar industry. Kenyans, let us forget everything else, our Nation is a sleeping giant!

    The ministry of Agriculture should test soil in all counties and match crops that do well in different regions to improve livelihood. Even the driest areas like Turkana can produce crops such as aloe Vera that is very popular as medicinal and also used in beauty products. For example Moringa is very expensive in USA and yet some areas in Kenya are siitable for growing Moringa
    For textile, why not go and learn from those who are manufacturing yhat high quality material and then import the machinery? Dont be surprised to learn that some of the machine manufactures are willing to come and train you on how to use them because all they want is to sell their machinery.

      Spot on lady. The thing that people don't know about manufacturing and trading is you make things that people want. So yeah investing in machinery to produce the best quality is good place to start.

      You are a wonderful thinker.am a middle aged Kenyan man living in Germany and that's my goal..import German machinery, then reverse engineer them and spread the technology from there

    That Peter Musolo guy!!! 😎
    Noticed the 'Made In Kenya' on the boxes; pray it's the same on the clothes' labels. Because I only come across mostly Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam or Mexico-made apparels on the second-hand clothes market in Kenya. Never seen a Tommy Hilfiger, or CK made in Kenya.

    Focus in more industries in Kenya mostly in Thika

  • @westmax8491
    @westmax8491 4 роки тому +3

    The problem with this industry is it will be automated. Not like in the past where such industries made less developed countries to industrialize. We need steel industries which will help alot in construction industry. Basically Kenya should have industries which manufacturers all simple goods such that we don't have to import them. Like we don't need to import things like spoons,combs,jugs or match sticks.
