you are right - in the absence of truth was an excellent record, I know everyone goes on and on about panopticon but that was the one for me. I love the attention to detail right down to the level of production, the way the drums are tuned etc
My 2 favorite bands are Converge and Neurosis and I’m seeing them together in a couple months. I’m not ashamed to say I’ll probably cry a few times that night.
Neurosis and Converge have so much sonically in common, but are at the same time worlds apart. That would be like seeing the Sun and the Moon in concert.
Dave did not get camera attention that he deserves, I mean come on, guy's giving his vocals like less than 10 times a show, every time it's absolutely haunting and menacing and they don't even film it.
Those Pursuit of Tone documentary videos on UA-cam that highlight different guitar players ... someone really needs to make one for Neurosis. Damn, what a phenomenal group of musicians.
I saw these guys this year in Auckland, i got to meet them all and they were honestly such lovely people. I spoke to Scott for quite awhile and he is a sweetheart
A customer at work got me into this band and I can honestly say I am not disappointed. I've listened to 4 of their albums now and love their unique sound
Comparing this to when I 1st saw them in the 90s , they are just more polished, tuned down on the aggression but are they the exact same band - having lost aggression to overall cohesion, , tightness, subtlety ... what a performance !
I seen these guys at a small skate shop in Flint, MI around '99. They had an 8mm projector on scaffolding and there was a half pipe behind the crowd inside the shop. It was so fucking awesome at the time that I felt like more of a man after the show 😂 💪 they were instantly one of my all time favorite bands with the first song..
Real masters of their art. I truly hate the thought of dying one day & having to leave this behind... hopefully I'll rediscover them in the next existence ^-^
@@robertdemeter5793 Sounds like McKenna wants us to become like animals then and simply behave according to emotional reactions. Our reality would become purely savage. Its our language that enables us to _question_ our reality and actions. The mystery you are talking about don't disappear just because you learn to understand the reality behind it. It lives on through in our emotional attachment to nature and the human spirit. We are able to have both if we are beeing honest about what a mystery really is. The point is not to keep a mystery a mystery, but to figure it out. That why we are drawn to mysteries. Art can embody this feeling of mystery. This feeling is important to us and that matters a great deal, but it should not prevent us from figuring out mysteries in the physical world. Rather we should leave the exploration of the _feeling_ of mystery to Art. This way we can have both.

Saw them live in summer of 2016 and was really worried, because Scott looked really exhausted and unhealthy... and now this! It's awesome! Long they live!
Listen through headphones to get the stereo effect. It's how they are meant to be listened to. Or crank your speakers up at work and scare your co-workers! Can't wait to see them in July.
"Post-metal" is the genre attached this kind of style. Basically means an avantgarde heavy metal that uses plenty of drone, ambient and industrial sounds as well as unconventional approaches to heavy metal drawing from an eclectic background and blend of influence.
They are their own FUCKING GENRE my friends. If you haven't by now,do your self a favor and go buy a couple of records. You'll thank me.
Locust Star has to be the heaviest fucking song ever written.
It’s not
Best band in this fucking world, more than music, real art !
I will never disagree
Yes
What a spiritual experience it is to have when you listen to them
i miss going to concerts. 1 year of lock-downs, shut-downs and postponed shows is very depressing. hope this shit is over soon and we all can see our favorite bands again.
REALLY SUCKS that 90% of musicians are obeying their stupid governments. When will they wake up?

No problem bro! Thank you for putting up the gig!
thank you!
I feel like they know Honor Found In Decay was kinda boring and lame compared to Fire Within Fires
@@-k-b- they've kinda been rehashing after eye of every storm
Greatest band in the world
This is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Not many bands even come close to touching what Neurosis does.
I can't think of any band even in the same realm as this band
Amenra is on the next fucking level, but not similar to this.
yob?
ISIS how dare you all fuckers forget ISIS impossible

I just want to for a walk in some dark woods while listening to Neurosis
I've found that scrap yards are wildly appropriate for a stroll whilst listening to Neurosis
And just dissapear
Best band ever!

I love how comfortable they sound playing their new material. It really holds up well alongside their classics.
My 2 favorite bands are Converge and Neurosis and I’m seeing them together in a couple months. I’m not ashamed to say I’ll probably cry a few times that night.
Saw them both live in Italy three months ago... No words can describe
Best small theater bill I've ever had the pleasure of seeing
Neurosis and Converge have so much sonically in common, but are at the same time worlds apart. That would be like seeing the Sun and the Moon in concert.
Neurosis is more of an experience than a band.

i opened for them in 92 and it changed my music...i was like...wtf am I doing?
@@navigator_g smartass internet guy < wisdom internet guy
Farewell Neurosis. Bringer of the wildest pit I've ever seen. You were one of a kind.
Lost is a beautiful opener
It is. It really is.
Interesting. "Lost" means Paradise Lost in metal.
I love how noah plays the keys with his fists....
Robert Demeter shut the fuck up, stop copy pasting your dumb comment everywhere.
Dave did not get camera attention that he deserves, I mean come on, guy's giving his vocals like less than 10 times a show, every time it's absolutely haunting and menacing and they don't even film it.
They do this every time, it's like the camera crew doesn't even know he actually does vocals too!
They don't have a clue...neither do the guys doing the editing.
Dave has my favorite growls in the business. I've never heard anyone sound as inhuman as he can. It's incredible.
I miss when he did vocals on their albums, seems as though he hasn’t on the the last few
Dude is an absolute beast!
not even 15 seconds in and I already gave it a thumbs up....
Same and have never head em before
Those Pursuit of Tone documentary videos on UA-cam that highlight different guitar players ... someone really needs to make one for Neurosis. Damn, what a phenomenal group of musicians.
Neurosis For Life!!!
neurosis is from another fucking planet....
Finally! I been searching for a band like this for a long time! Doom, Hard but soft. Just fuckin' fine!!
I saw these guys this year in Auckland, i got to meet them all and they were honestly such lovely people. I spoke to Scott for quite awhile and he is a sweetheart
Did you talk to Jason the drummer too? He's always been the most shy I've heard.
Even after all these years, they’re still killing it. Tight performance start to end.
A customer at work got me into this band and I can honestly say I am not disappointed. I've listened to 4 of their albums now and love their unique sound
the doorway is such a gigantic song. this audio may not necessarily represent that but it is massive.
I’m a bass guy, so I always want more bass… but this band is fucking legendary. Best voices EVER!!!
What a force of nature this band is! Great concert, great setlist
Comparing this to when I 1st saw them in the 90s , they are just more polished, tuned down on the aggression but are they the exact same band - having lost aggression to overall cohesion, , tightness, subtlety ... what a performance !
The agression is there it's just refined and chiselled down like a diamond.
God they opened right away with Lost when I saw them too and lost my damn mind. Nothing compares.
If I was the dude at 42:28 I would use this exact footage to introduce myself to any employer/ladies/credit bureau etc.
I love the guy behind him giving him the bunny ears.
best fucking band
Dave Edwardson's vocals completely fucking obliterates everything..... He should do more!
Holy shit they never stop getting better do they?
unbelievable band...in years they only gets better...what a performance...what a huge great sound !
That uncomfortable moment when the crowd starts clapping at the end of the song... but it’s not the end, oh no, it’s not the fucking end.
Thank you UA-cam for putting this in front of me tonight...They are exactly what I'm feeling tonight...
MY EYES WERE JAADDDEEEDDD
Shame they didn't manage to play a couple of tunes from A Sun That Never Sets and The Eye Of Every Storm
My two faves besides ToG
@@abaker2921 I love all their albums after they switched to post metal (even Honor in Decay), but if I have to pick one it would be Souls At Zero

They opened with Lost in Chicago tonight.
I went to the Pittsburgh show and it was amazing.

The Germs shirt is a fitting tribute to origins
Steve starting singing his part at the end of locust star early, never seen that happen!
God damn the audio & video quality on this is outstanding!
Fire is the end lesson is perfect. Period.
Saw Neurosis a few weeks back in Detroit; amazing show! This is great, thanks. \,,/
I find the fender amps to be a puzzling choice... Yet also understand that there MUST be a reason for it. Must learn.....
Steve did a rig rundown sometime in the past. I’m sure he explains it!
J'adore ce groupe depuis (presque) le début
I would love to be able to see them play Lost in person.
A huge influence on my playing and screaming, and to think that they still fucking shred to this day, so awesome 🤘🤘🤘
