    The sound guy did an awesome job here. You can for sure tell they were still getting the logistics of heavy/soft aspect down, later it was a science. Great show.

    I was front row at their final concert in Seattle, Washington. Could have shaken hands with the singer. If you like these guys, check out Cult of Luna.

      If you like these guys, check : Red Sparowes (so close to Isis) , Sumac, Palm ... It's almost the same guys

      Neurosis also belongs on that list. But they go without saying these days. 🤘

    • @brettpanzer

      I don't hear any similarities between Isis and Cult of Luna. Tool, Neurosis, Godflesh? Sure. Kind of. But I feel Bohren, Friends of Dean Martinez, and other bands who create moody spacial music have more in common with Isis irregardless of the fact they're nowhere near the same genre. Isis is one of my favorite bands and I can't listen to Cult of Luna. It's all subjective afterall.

    Great show, but far from their peak in my opinion. I thought they constantly improved, right up to the end. In fact, I believe the reason they gave for breaking up was that they wanted to end it before they peaked.

      35l332I4698l4353 we're all entitled to our opinions :), our interpretation of this bands music is very personal and subjective so I'm not disagreeing with you by any means, but imo I believe Panopticon to wavering radiant was their peak, and Panopticon being their most successful album as well. The band published the reason for their break up on their blog, and it was because they felt they were at their peak and wanted top leave it that way, on top, as the blog quotes: "We've seen too many bands push past the point of a dignified death and we all promised one another early on in the life of the band that we would do our best to ensure ISIS would never fall victim to that syndrome. "

      Jason Gittens Yeah that's the quote I was referring to. Panopticon is awesome, and I think a lot of people share your opinion about it being the best. But to me it sounded like Oceanic II (not a bad thing), whereas ITAOT and especially Wavering Radiant were more complex with a Tool and King Crimson influence. I especially love the way Harris' drumming evolved. All their albums are killer though. Twas such a sad day for me when they called it quits.

    • @PedalNinja
      @PedalNinja  9 років тому +2

      35l332I4698l4353 Harris was an amazing drummer, I also agree with the TOOL, King Crimson reference too, but at the same time it was completely their own sound. ITAOT really showed another side of the band. I actually discovered them when they opened for TOOL, and luckily they hit my city a month before they announced their break-up so was lucky enough to see them play a lot of wavering radiant. I'll truly miss this band, they were just so damn good.

      They sound muffled. No treble. And my headphones are just fine

    • @PedalNinja
      @PedalNinja  7 років тому +2

      well you you may think your headphones may be, but your sounds card or whatever your device is you're playing back on may not be, there are way too many variables on your end that can affect your personal sound quality, EQ settings, DSP, headphone quality, soundcard quality, etc. etc... too many to list.. my set up is studio quality for recording purposes and this sounds pretty much spot on, it's a live recording, so its not going to be full out studio quality but it's very good nonetheless, sadly for you it has to be on your end as hard as may be for you to believe, as out of the 30,000+ people who have enjoyed this video, you are the very first to complain, which speaks volumes. I've been in IT for decades and users always think it's not their gear, or set up, but the reality is, 99% of the time it is... sorry your setup doesn't play this back to your liking, but 29,999 others had no issues... so it has to be on your end.
