- Hi Guys, Welcome to another HOI4 video, in today's video I will show you how you can defeat Germany playing as France in HOI4, starting early war in 1936 over Rhineland demilitarization.

I don't play hoi4 as much as I used to but if beating Germany as France over the Rhineland doesn't have an achievement yet, it should be called "Axis denied"

I tried doing this. Britian backed me and germany back downed and got a spirit called "rhine challenge met" which gave -10% stability and war support

Usually when I do this kind of game, I rush the empty rhineland with motorized and have them grind at the Rhine river to cripple their industry, although it won't probably give your general Adaptable.
i recently did this achivement its actually really fun aside from the chance of germany backing down nice to see someone use a completely different method with victory well done.
If you are grinding terrain trait you can sacrifice 20 MXP to get Theater Training in the officer corp, plus if you have CPs to spare see if you can get Brilliant Strategist generals while still on Grand Battleplan.
It could be useful to get the Big Entente achievement. Thanks!

French Defense: Hoi4 nerd variation
in vegas, open the project properties and change "resample mode" to "disable resample" it will render twice as fast and look much cleaner, the only time you shouldn't have it disabled is if the footage is extremely choppy

Hey man, so I was thinking about it and could I simply line up my troops on the magi not, then using a lot of the army, form a sort of trap and encircle German divs to cheese out the Germans? Cause I’m finding this a bit confusing

@@sejozwakI tried a guide by M3an, a speed runner but it didn’t really work out. I couldn’t find any other guides and I’m not all that good so I’m kinda low on options.

@@sejozwakCan you just summarize the stages of it for me because for some reason every time I try, my motorized can only go as far as the Mosellans, then I’m at a stalemate with the Germans then I get pushed back
You could have put the cavalry as garrison unit and put every colonies in Secret Police ou Local police force it will cost less guns to garrison
France‘s interwar FT tank stockpiles + their pure tank template work well for garrisons.
FRA has so many reserve battalions you can easily pin GER‘s 24 battalions and stretch out their line.
For actual tanks, FRA starts with Medium Howitzers already researched _(much like their Destroyers with 1940 Engine III)_
is it just me or Germany just pushes me out of Nancy CONSTANTLY and I can do absolutely NOTHING about it.

A fun challenge i like with democratic France is forming the EU, you have to let Germany concur the lowlands and not join the allies, only after that can you start pushing back, taking the lowlands, Germany and Italy. Also part of this challenge is not letting anyone else get enough warscore to screw you over
I'm manually pulling my divisions out and replacing them but Germany always takes out my defensive line straight through the middle, and tips to be able to do this more effectively? I feel like I'm missing something

So there are a few variations, we have the encircle one which focuses on pulling back to encircle the german army, famously used by dark bhuddist in his fight against the hochmeister AI. There also is the naval invasion one, infamously used by me, but the ai has a few moves to counter that and usually sees them (unless youre playing something like stöckfißh 3)
Would the dismantle the Maginot decision to build the nacy line quicker be worth it?
I'm not sure you can do it as France, and you really just need like lvl 3 or 4 max in nancy line, if you build it bigger, they simply won't attack again
0 fuel most of the war. Oof. Good job still. Might have made the combat a bit easier if everything which needed fuel had it. ^^
Just planes really, I bought it later in game, troops using fuel are only slower

How to use the fall back into enemy territory trick?
start falling back into ur own territory, then fall right click on enemy province u want to fall back into
Never go for silent workhorse. Under no circumstance can it be justified. It takes 500 days before it returns a profit. How it became part of the meta is beyond me.

Any idea how you could get The Netherlands and Belgium while still being able to form the EU, without waiting for Germany to delcare on them? The only thing I can think of is justifying on them yourself, but that requires being non-democratic.
Edit: I forgot, you need Italy too.
Don't they become part of allies upon declaration by Germany, so even if you occupy them you will just liberate them?
If you want to form EU do it through fascist Britain, it's the least hassle

you have to start retreating your troops into your own territory, then make them go into enemy territory instead

@@sejozwak its the easiest war possible in the start of the game, you just throw some divisions in the Maginot and push with your light tanks and motorized, the Rhine is demilitarized until the war starts so you pour divisions in and the Germans cant do shit, if you are trash enough to reach a stalemate, naval invade them, your army is over twice the size of theirs
