I think you might have got this information from the channels of anti-China organisations, which makes me think that you are not a sensible and intelligent person, you are too easy to be used and deceived, if you want to understand China and its political system, you have to go to China in person to experience all this, under the influence of European and American media, your perception might be wrong, which will make your understanding of China wrong, and you might have been brainwashed by the media.

This is an outstanding video class… I took Modern China in 1979 in the University but it never got to Mao… (500 years ago was Modern to the professor) most disappointing! Your video, however, focused upon the last 100 years and that is FAR more interesting to me. Your maps depicting war lord turf was very rare! While I prefer photos over sketches of individuals I have no room to complain. Your diction and enunciation are superb for learning! Outstanding video! I am a new subscriber!

It all started with China's first emperor - Qin Shi Huang Ying Zheng who unified the world and laid the foundation for China's unification for thousands of years to come. When you look at the history of ancient China, you will find that even if there was a split in the Chinese dynasties, it would not last for too many years, there would always be a leader who would try to unify the world, and all the emperors and generals of ancient China took unification of the world as their highest honour.

Holy shit, I just finished this massive masterpiece and wanna give you your credit Jabzy. Not a lot of history channels have the will to go this far deep into the internal politics, workings and history of a country that's so often villainized and discarded by Western media because it's easier to just say "Well they all suck anyways so who cares?" when they could just make their 200th Nazi Germany video, but actually showing how a country became the way it is, something which imo is extremely unique when compared to anywhere else in the world, is what history is all about.
This may not get a massive amount of attention because it is a 3.5 hour video about the history of modern China with out any deceptive fillers but hats off to you mate for doing this for the history buffs out there.

What’s crazy is for Chinese people world war 2 started in the 30s. Europeans and Americans in the 20th center have never even come close to that length of turmoil. But they own the narrative so this is just a minor footnote in history. A small foreshadow to the real war. Yet the Chinese lost over 35 million under Japanese occupation. That’s an insane number of people. China went through hell and still overcame. I don’t love the Chinese government but China should not be seen as this pure socialist evil. They were abused and exploited for decades by Europe and then fought off a genocidal Regional power. They have a right to be cautious and nervous when dealing with the world. They’ve only been taught by their history that foreign powers want to exploit their nation and people.

OK, so this may sound a bit pedantic but the world war II is never downplayed as simply the precursor to the civil war in the official narrative. Both are teached in school to every student with a major emphasis (maybe I should include the first civil war in late 20s and 30s too since it's portrayed as sort of Mao's origin story).

Amazing video on a topic that i know very little about! One thing i find fascinating is that in conflict after conflict, many back to back, in which hundreds of thousands of chinese lives were lost, chinese culture pushed forward just as aggressively as western nations that haven't suffered the devastation of constant war. And is postured today with an absolutely massive population.

This is how i honestly see things. Here in the U.S. our initial documents were set up to try and help us avoid this. That point alone is important. However, without education in this and an intelligent and " moral " populace, our situation devolves to the same. I have no real solution.
