- "We knew we wanted a low-wattage amp. The challenge was getting a lot of tone and features in a little box. We’re all blown away with how it turned out. It’s going to be great for someone to take it out of the box, set everything to noon, and have it sound great."
-Mark Tremonti (2018)
The MT 15 is a commanding two channel amp with balanced aggression and articulation. Now upgraded to ship with JJ 5881 power tubes, the MT 15 has a large, bold sound, so you can dig in heavy with rhythms but also get singing lead tones out of one amp. Whether recording, practicing, writing, or playing a small room, this amp has everything you need.
"I was pretty apprehensive about switching tubes because I’ve always been a 6L6 guy and nothing has ever come close but when PRS sent me the 5851’s, I was blown away and they perform even better than any 6L6."
- Mark Tremonti (2020)
The MT 15’s design started with heavier players in mind, but in the end, it has a lot to offer players of all genres. Like the PRS Archon amplifier, the MT 15 features five gain stages before the Master for full, lush distortion. The gain channel gets big, chunky tone with massive, tight low end, but it never loses its articulate note definition or great lead tone. The clean channel is bright and chimey, good with chords and fingerstyle playing - whether with a pic or not. The clean channel also features a push/pull boost control that adds a little overdrive for old-school crunch. No matter what tone you dial in, the MT 15 stays balanced across the spectrum with a sweet, smooth tone that won’t bite your head off.
Additional features include an effects loop and bias adjusters that are accessible from the back panel for ease of servicing. Despite its 15 watts, the MT 15 sounds more like 50, so a half-power switch that takes the MT to 7 watts is a welcome addition. Bottom line, the amount of features, the hugeness of the sound, and the raw horsepower of the circuit make the MT 15 an impressive lunchbox hero.
The MT15 is Mark Tremonti’s first signature amplifier.

Mannnn...! Everything from warm and sweet to stays-crunchy-in-milk to "Even the milk turns chocolate!". Old breakfast cereal commercial analogies aside, this really is an awesome sounding amp. Congrats on making it a reality!
Dude hasn't aged a minute in 20 years good for him
"I'm gonna play a couple chords for ya" proceeds to melt our faces off
Holy shit. The clean was utterly beautiful, then the gain channel kicked in and my mouth actually dropped. One of if not the best sounding amps I have ever heard. I need this thing in my life.
I wasn't too impressed with the cleans, but IMO that's more based on the guitar itself and the technique. That being said it seems very balanced. Now that gain... holy schnikes. Sold. If it's gonna get me closer to those monstrous tones from Dust, I'm totally in.
Its at such a insane price aswell like how is it that cheap??also do you not need a cab for this?
Definitely needs a cab, for sure.
There's a PRS MT 60 watt cab that is sold for like 300 bucks, pretty good if you ask me. single speaker, can take the full 15 watts of the head. Together on sweetwater the price adds up to 1034 dollars (USD) , sure its an investment but a damn good one if you ask me. The head comes with a channel switching footswitch.
@@bravotronalpha3787 I review Tremonti albums on my channel if you are interested
that clean tone is the "blackbird" sound to a tee, unbelievable
I absolutely love Tremonti and alter Bridge, his signature is my dream guitar too! Mark is my absolute icon for playing
Same 🤘🏽
They are gonna sell a shitload of these.
I was just about to buy an or15 and then the rocker 15 and this came out. I think this wins.
Well they'd better make a shitload of these, 'cause everyone's gonna want one!
I’m gonna buy on lol
4years later.......you were right haha!
Bro every studio has one of these now it's such a lil workhorse he didn't even really need to drop the 100 watt 3 channel head
Exceeded my expectations and that's saying something
All my dream sounds in one little mighty box. Finally!!! Thanks PRS!
To Mark and all my friends at PRS you guys have absolutely nailed it with this amp and I cannot wait until I get to crank mine up when it arrives. Thanks so much. See you in a few weeks for Experience 2018. Can’t wait
So happy for Mark getting this amp. He has lots of time for fans and is very dedicated to improving as a guitarist which is so inspiring as he is a great musician already. I can't wait to try out this amp and maybe purchase one some day.
Honestly, I've been waiting for quite some time to find something that does BOTH clean and overdriven tones this well. I'm sold!
Kareem Monzer It's called a Diamond Phantom
I can't wait to buy me one! Got to plug in a guitar to the M1 15 and just absolutely loved it! The sound and tone is wonderful. Thank you PRS for teaming up with Mark Tremonti and bringing that amp together! 😊🤘🎸
I just bought this on Friday. I love it. I don’t even feel the need to put an overdrive in front of it so far. Can’t wait to see if the 100 will see the light of day
It is!! Mark made a post where you can see it! It's almost the same aesthetic and seems to work like a little nuclear plant...😂
@@dimebagtribute
Realistically would you even be able to play it at full 100 watt power in a room? 😂 I’ve never been able to play my mt-15 at full power 💀
@@MegaChorro123 Of course it's a bit oversized for a bedroom... But there is always people who will need this gear, and there is the others who don't need it but desire it, so they will buy it as well😄
Yep! Pretty sure I've found my next amp! Congrats and good job PRS!
he really snuck in that brent mason hot wired lick to make sure the tele players are sold!
Wait this was actually used on the record?!?!?! HOLY SHIT I gotta get one now
My favorite recent purchase... Absolutely love the crunch and tone of this amp... 🤘
Is it true that it’s loud even on half power
@@metalliholic yeah, there doesnt seem to be much difference (at low volumes) between 15W and 7W on the MT-15... Cranked you can definitely hear a difference, but it has no problems getting loud. Its a super decieving 15W...
Sounds awesome! Honestly I was never impressed with PRS amps before but this thing sounds great. And tremonti is an amp enthusiast so if he’s willing to put his name on it, it just be good. Can’t wait to try one!
Just wanna say. Y’all made the perfect high gain amp. It sounds so good! Leave it to mark,Paul and prs
What an amp! Paul Reed Smith guitars and amps are next level! I'm able to unleash my inner beast with a PRS guitar and this fabulous amp! What a great feeling!
Oh my gosh! I'm in love with the clean sound!
Gotta have them 6L6 big bottles to get that big sound. This little amp rocks!
Definitely buying this, please make more if you run out PRS. I need this in my life
Incredible! Definitely being my next amp!!
\m/
After grabbing and returning a bunch of amps while building my guitar rig this is the one I am fully satisfied with. I just can't believe this is 800 CAD. I'm really happy to not have to buy a Fender for the cleans I wanted AND an amp just for metal. This is so many good things in one box.
hollllyyyyyyy jesus this amp sound insannnnne and for the size of it and the price point noting can beat this!!! i'm gona save money and buy one of these!!! thank you mark and prs!!! by the way
AB rules!!!!
Dam fantastic amp fantastic player 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I just bought a Tremonti SE standard with limited edition zebra pick ups... may have to get this too... so much power from such a little amp!
Yes.... I am sold...
yep same
I picked one up at my local shop a few weeks ago....I must say the MT15 is awesome. For a small watt amp its is loud. so versatile to. The lead channel is super heavy i love it.
Man I CANNOT WAIT FOR MINE TO COME IN!!
We cannot wait for it to get to you!
You got it now? How is it?
The Clean is surprising! Might make a good pedal platform in addition to the gain channel. I bet they sell a ton of these...
I wasn’t impressed with this amp with any of the reviews/demo’s I’ve seen ....... up until now that is. Mark does a great job here. Impressive 👏👏👍
I chose the 6505mh over this but it doesn't have the cleans like this and is flubby without an od pedal. But driven is killer. I wanna compare both with an od
Your sound in general, is my favorite tone on the world, congrats!!!! I hope that this amp isnt to expensive
Mauricio Romero $650
Wooao, its a great price! Thanks dude
Fantastic Mark! thanks for sharing.
Awesome sounding amplifier....it is a good time to be alive
Just got this amp a few weeks ago. It is by far the best head in its price point. The other amps this size have halfway decent gain channel but no good cleans, or else its the other way around. This amp has BOTH and takes pedals VERY well. Ya can use a distortion pedal on the clean channel or else just use the dirty channel, but it gives ya lots more sound options and it can go VERY loud if need be. Next i need to get the prs cab for it cause the 4X12 i have now is just too much volume lol...
Just a couple weeks or so and mine will be in! Can't wait!
As a non high-gainer: this amp is rediculously convincing. It almost makes me wish I needed this amount of gain, because it works so well.
So uhm..you could..uhm..do a JM version..uhm... Pretty sure you would rock that too.. And it'd sell out in no time flat. Would really accompany that SE JM you should also be working on :P
Mine comes in today!!! Can’t wait!!!!
I love the clean tones of this amp, one of my favorite clean tones in an amp, the twin reverb sometimes has that ice pick sound, I like it to, but this is a more pleasing more musical sound for what I'm doing. I hope one day mr Tremonti and Paul will bring out a 100 watt version, but I'll buy this one for shure cool amp
Damn it's like a mini Archon which is awesome. This NAMM is killing it!
hopefully not because these amps had a lot of problems and many had to be replaced due to failure.
TONAL TENACITY. Warm cleans and a gnarly growling overdrive that will rip head's clean off. Killer Amp !!!!
Cant wait to add it to my collection of mini heads...
was looking at the Two Notes Revolt pedal but man this all tube amp simply sounds so much better
Perfect sound for this drive. love it !!!
Mark is quite underrated. Happy this amp is gonna more than make up for it ($).
I'm very impressed,it's a monster sounding amp Mark AWESOME job,and I like the built in delay,I would have this amp for sure! But i have to say i like Marshall and other amps too, especially with my playing style, you can get some killer heavy tones if tweaked right and using the right speakers and pedals, but really it boils down to everything starting with the right guitar first!
Just discovered MT, via PRS actually. What an excellent guitarist! Not met him, but he does seem like a cool cat!
I swung by Guitar Center a while back to pick up some strings - walked in and saw this amp. They had just put it out on the floor (big fan of PRS and Tremonti so figured I'd give it a run). Amazing tone, very unique, instantly loved this amp. Okay I figured, this is gonna hurt, what's the price... (had no tag yet). $649.00. You gotta be shitting me? At home she sits atop my Recto (which sadly has not seen power in months), and the MT15 is now my go-to amp. Tip my hat to PRS and Mark for this amp. You easily could have charged $1k to run against the Mini Recto and others. You guys are the best!
Can’t wait till I get mine... waiting for Black Friday/cyber Monday sales then I AM UNSTOPPABLE
WHY DOES MARK NOT DO MORE PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS???
Amazing amp!
Idan Shahar He’s not a big fan of self-promotion. He said it makes him seem like he’s self absorbed. He’s not a self absorbed person at all.
Just spoke with someone at the company I ordered this amp from. They said the head will ship at the end of this month with any luck, but the cabinet probably won’t even ship until September, and I ordered a head and cabinet in early February.
He plays pretty well for a beginner!
For reals he’ll make it big one day
Awesome little amp ! \w/ rock on....
Sounds killer
Yes!! This looks and sound incredible! Will it be used for the new Tremonti record?
I need to get me one! That MT15 sounds really good 🤘🤘
This is the best metal head in this price range
Damn... that sounds good.
PRS take my money!!!
finally a SMALL AMP with BIG TUBES! I can't stand the lack of low end thump of the 6V6.
I hear ya, I was tired of all the EL84 crap.
I guess it depends on the 6V6 amp designs you have used? I seem to be able to get plenty of low end thump from some of my 6V6 amps. To me the biggest difference between the 6V6 and 6L6 is the onset of the breakup distortion and the character of it. 6L6 breaks up much later and retains a cleaner distortion tone, IMHO. Either one sounds better than EL84s to my ears! I even prefer the 6AQ5s tone ( a smaller 6V6 in a little 7 pin bottle) to the much more common EL84 amps. 6AQ5s only put out about 1/2 the wattage EL84s do, but they also cost much less! I don't mind pushing 6AQ5s really hard and having to replace them more often because you can often get 3-4 of them for the cost of 1 EL84!
Why knock EL84s ?.....nothing wrong with them , I have amps with EL34s , 6L6s , I enjoy all of them , I have the EVHLBX 2 , with EL84S , first one I've had with those tubes , and it's a beast , sounds fantastic, I know some people prefer different tubes , but to say they are crap?? That's a little harsh.....that being said , the MT15 sounds great! I may have to have that one too......and I'm a big Alter Bridge fan , congrats Mark!!
@@Gonboo Like every damn 6L6 mini amp uses EL84's I have no idea why...
It‘s fantastic! The only thing I miss is a high quality headphone output.
Well, i thought i have gone tubeless, but this thing is daaaaammmmmnnnn good.
Just ordered one...good demo
holy shit i can see why these are being preordered . what an amp for a cheap price !
Great value. Slightly compressed gain channel id need to try in person.
Awesome!
Really excited for this one. Love my Boogie F50 and H&K Switchblade 100, but they are so loud and i am so old. I need a break :-)
I'm sold.
FABULOUS Clean and broken up (treble boost) but WHOA I could NOT dial the Bottom End out…. Hopin the Archon has a way to dial Bottom out a bit.
sounds awesome
If this holds up to my archon 50 combo, I am completely sold and I will run this along side my archon 50 for the stereo sound
love the sound
I think is good mention what cabinet you use? And for the people think this is not loud, this amp is using only 1/4 of power tubes. 6l6 tubes have up to 30watts power each. 2 6l6 tubes can go to 60watts. but the output tansformer is putting only 270 volts on tubes instead of 400volts
Nuno Sousa so do you know how to explain why is there 2 6L6s on this amp? They will never work at their max so I don't really see any sense in it... well... anyways I don't understand much about these tube responses but 2 EL84s (like on the mini dual rectifiers) would work fine and would get an american style sound for sure.
They are working at around max (well at the max you'd want them anyways) if the plate voltage is low, most likely somewhere between 250 and 300v as Nuno Sousa pointed out. It definitely does not mean that the tubes aren't working hard, "au contraire" and will ware out quicker because they are working harder, a bit like on a class A amp just that a class A wares out tubes even quicker coz biased at 100%. It's a bit hard at first to get one head around. Same as the Sonzera as well 20w for 2 x 6L6 tubes.
I have a 5 watt amp and it's hella loud
JTheGuitarPlayer, you don't know what you are talking about. The cab plays a major role in the signal chain. MDF makes for horrible cabs (ask anyone who has one of them) both in terms of sound and in terms of longevity. The most common high-end cab material is 13 ply baltic birch and sounds 1000000000000000000000 times better than MDF. Cabs are also never nailed together. They are always glued and sometimes screwed together to add rigidity in the corners. Oh, and wires make 0.000000000000000% difference in the sound of a cabinet. We are talking wires that are a few inches long, passing ultra-low impedance signal. Connections account to nothing, too.
This amp will easily drive a 4x12. No speaker breakup, of course, but it will drive one easily. I mean, a Pro Junior can, this shouldn't be any different.
JTheGuitarPlayer Thank you. It really sound vintage 30.
Any one know what song that was at 1:44? That little ditty has been haunting me.
Aaaaaaaaand... ordered! :D
God, this amp sounds freakin amazing! Can't wait to get mine!
Is there any possibility to get a shot of the G-Lab he uses behind that amp. Would love to know those settings that make the amp like Mark said "not so stiff" and give it that tiny bit of atmosphere! :)
$650 street? Dang... sweet.
Especially when you look at the components VS a Dark Terror or something
Can we hear how much hiss and noise the amp has with the gain turned up and NO kind of noise reduction goin??
Thanks in advance!
Fantastic amp. Just needs a master volume on the clean channel to give it that extra bit of flexibility.
Do these have a master volume for great lower volume tones at night
JHS little black amp box
2:07 song name anyone? Sounds familiar..
What prs really got right about this amplifier is the price and the wattage. This unit just sounds like a field of flowers 💐. What was the cabinet that was used though?
Did they finally fixed the fx loop? Want to buy one but lots of people says the loop hums badly.
I keep throwing money at the screen but I still don't have one.
Hmmm, that's strange... Usually, that works pretty well. We'll get our IT department on that ASAP!
(In the meantime, you could always go to your nearest PRS dealer and throw some money at them. Hope you are able to pick one up soon, Burning Halo.)
When he switches to drive channel, MY GOD!!!
Love it! Anybody knows if it has enough power for band practice or shows at small venues????
Without a doubt.
I wish my prs singlecut had a bar on it. Would be all I need.
what's the name of the song in the intro??!!
Don’t know if you already found it but it’s “Catching Fire” by Tremonti.
Without Line out??? 💔💔 😭😭 💔💔
Need to do a 50 watt version of this too.
That is one of the finer amps I've ever played
Thanks for the love, Nolan!
@@prsguitars anytime😁
I’m buying one!
I've heard it before, but what was the opening song? I can't remember...
Wtf?!?! Now, that’s a crunch🤘🏼
Amp sounds amazing, I tend to prefer EL34s but this is great.
Same here.
It is an awesome amp, I am blown away by the clean and drive channel ......the only amps that are comparable are $1400 Mesa Boogie Mark V:25, Friedman Rant, victory Kraken and $3000 Deizels. It has set the bar very high for H&K tubemeister, Orange Rocker amps...other similary priced amps like Peavy MH20, Marshall Dsl, Laney Ironheart...doesn't stand a chance
You forgot the Mesa Rectoverb 25 which also has fantastic individually adjustable reverb (for either clean or gain) and can also do the high gain saturation of any of the amps listed. While it takes a lot of tweaking, it CAN perfectly imitate a JCM 800 Studio 20 and can come awfully close to an Orange Dark Terror (I've had all three in the same room, same cab) but with at least 20% more headroom and volume.
That being said, the Mesa is twice as much as the mt15. This amp does a hell of a lot for the money and cannot be ignored if you're looking for a high gain lunch box amp.
Hate these "This one or something else"- questions on YT?
Well, here is another one:
This one or the Laney IRT-Studio for everything from Blues to Metal?
Can you pair this amp with the PRS 277 on video.
