I wouldn't say it's the hardest from a traditional sense. Don't get me wrong it's really frustrating your first time. But once you know the patterns to beating them, the same stars aren't hard on subsequent playthroughs. At least, you will only die one or two times each character after your first. Except for that pirhana plant star. That star can burn in hell.
3-2 Chain link charge, 3-7 switchboard falls, 5-6 cakewalk flip, 7-3 red hot run, 7-6 hammerhead reef, 8-4 footlight lane, 9-2 super galaxy, 9-4 the great goal pole, 11-3 piranha creeper creek after dark are all really hard too
One of the levels that really annoyed me was “A Beam In The Dark.” Seriously, that final section with the broken platform you ride on while flying Dry Bones come at you while also trying to spook the ghosts drove me crazy! I died more on that level than Cosmic Cannon
Same! That was a nightmare. I always end up long jumping to the end where the giant boo spawns and hoping I don't get hit cuz those dry bones be swarming
He's too traumatized from Champion's Road and hearing Toad's death scream so many times he can't even talk about it 😔. I had to listen to Rosalina's death scream so many times too before beating it.
I’m pretty sure Rolling Ride Run is harder on the Switch version of the game because of the increased speed. On the Wii U, you go almost the same speed as the Rolling cylinders, therefore making it really easy to keep up. On the Switch however, the Characters go way faster than the cylinders, that’s why it feels that much harder...
You forgot to mention in Grumpblump inferno that if you ground pound on them, their sad faces turn angry, and they move even faster making staying on the platform even more hectic
Fun Fact: each level of world mushroom and fire flower is a harder or different version of another. Example: Musroom - 1 (Night Falls on Really Rolling Hills) is a harder version of 2 - 4 (Really Rolling Hills.)
All the problems described in rolling ride run are exactly why I bring a cat suit and constantly climb up the walls - I don't trust that darn cylinder. For context as to how much easier it is if you climb up the walls with a cat suit rather than using the roller, I never knew a double cherry existed... I always got all three green stars.
I'm shocked no one's bringing up the boss blitz. Doing that without running out of time is a challenge! In Rolling Ride Run, I just moved the platform so it was a straight run down the alley to the "2" platform, then longjumped back, got the cherry, longjumped again, and ran down. But it was cool seeing how you did Grumblum Inferno, just walking as it turned. I've always jumped. I was surprised 7-3 wasn't on here either.
Whats funny is that Nintendo made the worlds before the final fight with Bowser very easy but they made the bonus worlds ACTUALLY SUPER HARD, it literally took me 3 days to beat Champions Road for the first time (94 deaths to be exact)
Gamechamp3000 fans, obviously... Though the level mentioned in no.10 here is the World Flower version on a split path with Piranha Creeper Creek after Dark (which is my personal least favorite level and shouldn't pose many more problems than the one in World 4), while the one that was a problem in jumpless was the World 6 version, which isn't on a split path.
I agree with your ranking but I'd honestly switch Blast Block Skyway and Broken Blue Bully Belt just based on my personal experience playing them recently. I died over 30 times on Blast Block Skyway and only died a few times on Broken Blue Bully Belt. Granted, I play mainly as Peach so the jumps in Bully Belt were probably a little easier for me
Most of these levels were just hard because he mains Toad, which is easily the the worst charge in the game. His jump is super short and he has an obnoxiously fast run that throws you off and doesn’t work in tight and small platforming (which you see a-lot in the later worlds)
My opinion on them: 10: Not too bad 9: Easy really 8: Piece of cake 7: Very tricky, especially when playing as Toad; Peach is highly recommended IMO 6: EAASYYY, no joke; I got everything on that level literally taking no damage 5: I'll admit that is indeed a tough one 4: Not bad once you know what to do and as for the 3rd star? Save a Super Bell! 3: I'll admit that was a tough one as well 2: Those sinking platforms got me but after studying the pattern, I did it easy peasy 1: Still haven't beaten it...
Okay the hardest level for me was that World Bowser boo house with the lights and spinning elevator platforms. You'd think it'd be easy, just stand still and slightly turn the light to kill ghosts until you get to the end. Well imagine doing that on the narrow platform with joycon drift. So. Many. Falls. I had to detach my good joycon and use it by itself to eventually beat it.
Lol the Rolling level was imo easy, just the third star was extremely hard. I though you needed to bring a goomba from the platform after to trigger the platform, but eventually I just connected a second controller to activate it.
My Top 6 of the hardest levels in this video: 6. Rainbow Run Okay, the first half is okay, not that hard, but those spinning platforms in the second half combined with the enemies are horrible! And what makes even worse: Every time you die in the second half, you have to do this absolutely boring and easy Plessie section over and over again! 5. Broken Blue Bully Belt I hate this precised platforming and even with the Tanuki Suit it is very hard. 4. Cosmic Cannon Cluster Especially the second half is really hard and I don't know, if I had finished the game until now, if there was no checkpoint! 3. Grumblump Inferno Oh my god, I hate those cubes! Nintendo, who came up with the idea for this level in your team? 2. Rolling Ride Run It took me so long to collect all the stuff in this level, especially the second half is way too hard. 1. Champions Road Easily the hardest level of the game. It's also the only level of the game I never finished, because it is too hard(and too long). There are some other levels, that could easily have been in this video, but I don't know their exact names: -This awful scrolling level with those appearing hexagons I hate everything of this level! -The recycled version off the level in world one with those ?!-platform(I don't know the official name, but I hope, you know what I mean), that have to be activated to open the gates. Especially the second green star with the eight green coins in that level is one of the hardest stars in the entire game! -Red Hot Run Short level, but it is definitely not easy! Precised walking and jumping with boosts is really hard. -The bossrush at the end of world🌻! Literally the hardest thing in this level is the timer! -The level in world🌻 with the piranha plants in the dark toxic cave, where ALL the three green stars are related to torches you have to light up. And hitting those torches without dying or taking damage too many times is so hard. This level was the reason why I didn't unlock world👑 for a long time -The mystery house in world👑 with❗30 CHALLENGES❗ Why, Nintendo, just why?!
These levels are of course hard. But imagine doing the crown level, beating inner agent 3, and beating the final boss in a hat in time all at the same time. *Nightmare* huh..
0:38 "how hard it is to collect the Green Stars" you know, except for Piranha Creeper Creek after Dark. also 8-7 and 10-7 are much, much easier if you get the leaves each one gives you (or bring one from another level), and 8-7 in particular is overrated because... well, just don't jump.
@@giggity6942 same. I understand why you find it difficult tho. The last section of the level was hard and the cannonball jump was kinda difficult, but it just doesn’t strike me as difficult.
11:37 there are two hidden cherry power-ups, and you can parkour your way up to the star without needing the cherry at all (no cat suit required, either). I think you may be able to skip rolling the large platform in the second half of the level entirely, too...
Cosmic Cannon Cluster... I hated the part with the perfect timing. Me and my sister had to do it with a cat suit, for God’s sake! This is why I also just try to get JUST the Stamps. I also stopped playig at Broken Blue Bully Belt. Thank goodness they give you a Tanooki Leaf in that level.
I’m so glad someone finally said Grumblum Inferno bro that level is so infuriating cuz of the way those grumblums move and I died so many times from that
My top 15 hardest stages (in my opinion) Feel free to tell me if you’d agree or disagree! Here we go! 15 - Bowser‘s Lava Lake Keep (The green stars are in really annoying places and there is a lot of enemies to easily get hit) 14 - Captain Toad’s Fiery Finale (The final captain toad stage and also the most difficult one due to the amount of lava to dodge) 13 - Floating Fuzzy Time Mine (Too fast and touching a fuzzy will kill you instantly) 12 - Switch Shock Circus (The electric things can get in the way when you’re trying to press the panels) 11 - A Beam In The Dark (Too many dry bones and boos to dodge) 10 - Blast Block Skyway (Basically beep block skyway but it moves a lot faster and there is spikes to avoid) 9 - Grumblump Inferno (A rolling cube that is very easy to fall off of) 8 - Faster Fort Fire Bros (The strict time limit can make getting the green stars very annoying) 7 - Trouble In Shadow Play Alley (A fast time limit and a very annoying Goomba tower to take out) 6 - Boss Blitz (A lot of bosses to take out and dying once takes you back to the beginning) 5 - Broken Blue Bully Belt (Tight platforming and lots of spikes) 4 - Rainbow Run (Tight jumps and fast platforms) 3 - Cosmic Cannon Cluster (Very hard to aim your canon box at the ! boxes) 2 - Mystery House Marathon (The last mystery house and also the hardest one due to the fact that if you mess up once you go all the way back) 1 - Champion’s Road (We all know why)
Often speedrunners do a lot of stunts that just make it harder and lose time with it. An example is the rainbow run, I don't think it's a difficult course. I certainly finished the stage faster than he himself playing calmly.
For the second green star in rolling ride run, you can just do a pretty easy jump with Rosalina with corner wall jumps and a spin at the top, then dive
I didn't take the mystery houses or captain toad levels into consideration when making the list: I was just going through at the main traditional levels for the ranking! Otherwise, yeah, MHM would totally be on the list somewhere
Some things I wanna add from my personal experience, me and one of my friends have recently decided to do a coop 100% playthrough of the switch version: 10. We somehow did both of the fuzzy levels first try 100% without dying, even though we were really dreading them lol. 7. I think the non-mentioning of this level is justified, it really isnt that hard 6. WHY GOD WHY DOES THIS LEVEL EXIST 5. I dont think this one should be that up high either, though we did notice that the timer was a lot tighter, and timed out for the first time in ages. 4. Yeah, this was really hard, but like a fun kind of hard imo. We'd definetly have had more problems if we hadnt just cheesed the third star by, well, playing with two people. 3. It wasnt that hard.. until that diagonal shot, we lost like 20 lives just to that... 2. For us, the Piranha Creeper level in the flower world takes this spot. It literally took us an hour to light all the torches for the second star, and we were really angry by the end of it
You don’t actually have to use the rollers at all in Rolling Ride Run. If you have a Super Bell from another level, you can turn into your Cat version & just, Dive & Climb as I call it. This also makes sure that you can get all of the collectibles in the stage easily, so you overrated the difficulty of this level. I’m just 10 years old!
Even though I spent 1500 lives (and I'm not exaggerating, it took me 3 weeks to complete it) alone on Champions Road (once for every playable character), I really enjoyed the level very much, never got really frustrated with it.
I just picked this game back up and 1-Castle actually made me swear. The Bowser fight combined with the bad camera made for a horrible time. Eventually beat it with the Invincibility Leaf
My list (rules are Mario only and no traditional power ups past the super mushroom. Nonconventionals like the propeller and cannon hats are allowed): 10 Faster Fort Fire Bros 9 Chain Link Charge 8 The Great Tower of Bowser Land 7 Grumblump Inferno 6 Cosmic Cannon Cluster 5 Blast Block Skyway 4 Spiky Spike Bridge Sneak 3 Boss Blitz 2 Broken Blue Bully Belt 1 Champion's Road Honorable Mentions: Super Galaxy, Floating Fuzzy Time Mine, Spiky Spike Bridge, Rainbow Run, Night Falls on Really Rolling Hill, Honeycomb Skyway There is also Mystery House Marathon but that requires the Cat power up.
Wow dude, your griping about Champion's Road kinda caught me by surprise. I'm gonna replay Super Mario 3D World soon. Wish me luck. I'm playing the original Wii U version since I don't have a Switch to play Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
11:30 the third green star in that roller level where you need the cherry power up... it IS possible to get up there without the cherry powerup. I know because I tried over and over and couldn't get both my guys or gurls there. But you need rosalina's double jump. You can wall jump and hike up to the left near the cherry lift that would take you up had you kept your second character. keep hiking up and to the left away from the star and you'll eventually get high enough to jump all the way back over to the star without ever getting the cherry. if I recall correctly there were some coins way up there so the devs knew you could do it that way.
Rolling rod run is actually quite easy. You can easily cheese the second half with the cat suit, no need for the double cherry. If you have a Tanuki too, you're golden for the whole level really.
Champion's Road is so damn difficult the Darker Side from Super Mario Odyssey feels way LESS difficult. Occasionally, the level had even made me hate the game for literal months. But when it was done and I had 100%'d the game, I felt a sigh of relief and even weeks after I could still say it's easily my favorite of any of the Mario games. I even played it originally on the Wii U, Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS and I pre-ordered 3D World + Bowser's Fury, which was the first game I ever pre-ordered, and yes I even 100%'d Bowser's Fury, too. I had so much fun but I still have very fond memories of this awesome game, no matter how difficult and frustrating it can make me feel, and that praise even goes for that nightmarish Champion's Road, too
Get the cat suit for the third star in rolling ride run. You can climb the wall instead of taking the two player elevator. I have never done the two player method - looks impossible.

Some things I wanna add from my personal experience, me and one of my friends have recently decided to do a coop 100% playthrough of the switch version:
10. We somehow did both of the fuzzy levels first try 100% without dying, even though we were really dreading them lol.
7. I think the non-mentioning of this level is justified, it really isnt that hard
6. WHY GOD WHY DOES THIS LEVEL EXIST
Hmm I never would’ve known champions road was the hardest level in the game
Mario Teaches Typing is my favorite Mario game
Thanks For Pinning My comment
The hardest level is obviously Super Bell Hill
Ikr???? Took me 2 hours
it took me at least a year
@@ayaanayub7174 understandable
Naw, the title screen is the hardest, Super Bell Hill is like 2nd
Hey neat seeing you. Plus yeah, totally
Here for the algorithm to help this mad lad.
I just picked this game back up and 1-Castle actually made me swear. The Bowser fight combined with the bad camera made for a horrible time. Eventually beat it with the Invincibility Leaf
1-1 super bell hill is definitely the hardest level
I've never even played 3d world yet and I bet i'm gonna hate this level. ESPECIALLY TRYNA FREAKIN UNLOCK IT.
I beat champions road after like 5 hours of practice, but only with princess peach and 2 tanooki suits
I havent even BEATEN champions road it is costing me more lives than the great tower of bowser land and I don't have a cat Mario amino yet.
The Difficult Could Change Depending On What Character You Use (You used Toad For all The Levels) But Nonetheless I loved this Video.
My list (rules are Mario only and no traditional power ups past the super mushroom. Nonconventionals like the propeller and cannon hats are allowed):
10 Faster Fort Fire Bros
9 Chain Link Charge
8 The Great Tower of Bowser Land
7 Grumblump Inferno
6 Cosmic Cannon Cluster
5 Blast Block Skyway
4 Spiky Spike Bridge Sneak
3 Boss Blitz
2 Broken Blue Bully Belt
1 Champion's Road
Honorable Mentions: Super Galaxy, Floating Fuzzy Time Mine, Spiky Spike Bridge, Rainbow Run, Night Falls on Really Rolling Hill, Honeycomb Skyway
There is also Mystery House Marathon but that requires the Cat power up.
Him saying broken blue bully belt is a combination of grumblump inferno and rainbow run is the truest thing he’s ever said. It really do be like dat
5:26, you can slide down the very middle without having to jump at all ;)
Wow dude, your griping about Champion's Road kinda caught me by surprise.
Also, you forgot that if you ground-pound the Grumplumps, they get cheesed off and go faster. So do NOT do that!
I expected the Piranha Creeper Creek after Dark on this list.
Rolling rod run is actually quite easy. You can easily cheese the second half with the cat suit, no need for the double cherry. If you have a Tanuki too, you're golden for the whole level really.
champions road is so annoying bro like who hurt the level editor why so hard and i cant beat the world crown purple house thing
For rolling ride run I used rosalina to get the 3rd green star, the spin move is overpowered
I have been trying to beat that damn crown level..... for more than 3 years!
U mean champions road

My anxiety in a nutshell
where is piranha creeper creek after dark
THIS.
Rolling ride run’s third green star can be gotten from the cat suit or 90 degree wall jumps
5:38
alternatively, you can slide in the middle
I had so much fun but I still have very fond memories of this awesome game, no matter how difficult and frustrating it can make me feel, and that praise even goes for that nightmarish Champion's Road, too
11:43 I just brought a cat suit lol because I didn’t want to deal with that.
I disagree with this list. Easily the second hardest level is the mystery house marathon
Im currently stuck here lol
Tip in star 3 you could jump when you are too close to the edge
It’s a great video and I agree with all the picks as well and champion road is easier bringing a leaf and a cat suit
The first half of World Star (especially Super Galaxy) beat my butt when I first played it
It's called beep block skyway* just fir correction
You can touch green coins with the gamepad/cursor/touchscreen, makes it much easier.
I can’t wait to try these levels!
No
You don't wanna try cosmic cannon cluster
I’ll be sure to keep a cat suit for that one
@@jackrobertson8960 and a tanooki suit
Yes
Get the cat suit for the third star in rolling ride run. You can climb the wall instead of taking the two player elevator. I have never done the two player method - looks impossible.
