Another awesome review. You guys really don't have any competition . Ive only owned and ridden 2 ATV's in my 58 yrs. My first was a brand new 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700. I bought it to trail ride. Rode it with almost no issues up until 2010. Sold it and left the ATV world until 3 months ago. I purchased a new 2023 Can Am XTP 850 to get back into trail riding here in the mountains and open prairie of beautiful Wyoming. What a difference. I love it. I have less than a 100 miles on it. It runs lean as hell, pops and backfires when you let off the throttle and the plastic by the seat next to the exhaust manifold gets very hot. I sent the ECU off to a reputable company that specializes in Can Am ECU flashes to simply richen it up and make it run cooler. Looking forward to seeing the difference. Thanks again for the great reviews!
Thanks Greg! I guarantee you'll see a difference.. We put programmers on them even when we keep the exhaust stock to richen them up.. They all run hot nowadays..
Hey guys, Im from ireland and i recently bought a outlander xxc t, rd legal. Factory restricted to 81hp. I love it, shocks are great and i can't wait to do a local race with it, had a kodiak 700 before this. Absolutely love the outlander. Keep up the good work on the videos..
@@DUNEATV I agree. Recently went to an advertised ATV poker run here in SE Wyoming and was shocked to see out of an estimated 250 entries it was 95% or better SXS's. Not just any SXS's but the big as a F150 stretched versions with monster truck size tires. It sucked trying to dodge these bastards on the narrow fire roads.
Coming from sport atvs, I just bought a cfmoto 1000. It's about 5k less than this, has bigger tires, a winch, more storage, adjustable shocks, beadlocks, better clutches, and will pull me, a passenger, and some cargo to well over 60mph. Needless to say I am happy with my choice. That being said this is definitely a gnarly machine!

Good review! I almost bought a G1 XXC Outtie back in 2013. It's still a regret I have not buying it. It was a whole different machine than this new XXC. It still felt light, small, and nimble. And even though it only had the 800cc engine, it still would give this new one a run for it's money. This new one is just too big and heavy, and reliability is still a question. And I still believe an ATV is not an ATV without a winch and full racks.
Pretty right on, as usual, good work. There is a reason we race a XXC, it is the most ready out of the box. We run a '19 for the better brake controls.
@@WildHorseMotoTXThat’s exactly what I plan to do. Gotta have my separate controls. Not sure what genius came up with the single brake lever, especially on the left side where hand clutches have been for decades.
Great video again guys! I’m hoping Can Am changes those colors on the 2024 model XXC, maybe gray and blue? They’ve had the same colors on this model for a couple of years. Small thing but for that kind of cash, give us a few color options. Awesome machine regardless!!!
There are slight size and ergonomic differences between the outlander and renegade. Some of the guys I race with won't race anything but an outlander having come from the Scrambler. Polaris and Yamaha are at races this year testing new platforms, so the xxc's may have competition. The real question: Is Can Am going to fuck everything up and eliminate the G2 quads for this new G3 single cylinder Dylan Mullaney inspired design
I have a 19 outlander 850 XTP and I had a 2020 renegade 1000 XXC… I say “had” because I traded it last year for a 2022 outlander 1000 XTP. The outlander is a better and more versatile machine in my opinion. They are very similar in performance but the outlander simply has more of everything, more features, more storage, more towing, winch, mud protection, bumpers, etc. Re: outlander XXC vs. XTP, I didn’t know there was a difference in the suspension. I thought the only difference was an aluminum skid plate, color and the XXC doesn’t come with a winch. For my money, the 850 XTP is still the best all around ATV.
Awesome machine. I went with a renegade xmr ultimately because it was less modification to reach the setup I wanted. But, these really appeal to me regardless.
Are you asking about the Outlander vs Renegade? If that's the question, the answer isn't very straightforward. For mud, or even pretty muddy trails, that's an easy one.. The Outlander offers far more mud protection so you won't be wearing globs of everywhere on top of the machine.. For hard pack trails and XC racing, the Renegade has the advantage of clear line of sight to the front tires. That's going to be important to racers who are playing with millimeters of clearance at high speeds.. The line of sight is better on the XXC Outlander than the XTP because of the front rack being removed but you still can't see the tires as well as the Renegade.. It's a happy medium of vision and mud protection for us while still having the racer suspension.. Obviously all of them can do whatever you want and that isn't considering the XMR version.. Those are the key differences tho..
Having grown up on sport quads I find myself always wanting more power. I tried the 570 sportsman and ended up getting a 850 only because it was on the floor and I didn't have to wait 4 months for the 1000. I would really like to try out one of these. I still think they're old man quads and prefer sport quads. So maybe I'm just never happy. Great video as you guys always do.
@@DirtObseXXionI agree, you definitely need both! I've amassed a whole fleet of offroad machines now, something for every mood I'm in. That’s a badass looking quad. My concern with one of these was always the weight which is why I’ve stuck with the Japanese 700 class machines. Do you notice those extra pounds or is it “hidden” pretty well?
@@DirtObseXXion The size is probably needed to give these things stability on the sxs trails. It’s a tough decision at this price point between this, the renegade, and the scrambler s. Would be surprised if they’re as fun as a cheaper Raptor or yfz though.

That's a great question! Depends on where I'm riding.. Wide open stuff and trails that have a lot of SXS traffic the Scrambler S is very fun and capable, but the best ATV trails are 50" restricted and the XXC is still capable on the open stuff.. I'd go XXC personally
I do wish the XT had suspension somewhere in between the xxc and the crappy xt. Especially since I'm a heavier rider. Shocks are crazy expensive. Even for lower end elkas up here north of the border.
Yeah we had a base Model 1000R, back when they still made them, had to put new heavier springs on it because they got squishy quick. That's a lot cheaper than new suspension!
I highly prefer the Outlander over the Xxc. Both are about 3k more than a Grizzly. Which is a strong argument for just getting the Outlander 1000 which can spank the Sportsman XP 1000. But it pains me to say that the Grizzly is vastly better than all of them 99 percent of the time on a trail. If I were a dare devil I would get the Outlander for the straight line performance and bragging rights. But I am just not. And most people are not. If you are not a dare devil and you have to put your hand on a Bible and tell which you really enjoyed the most. You have to say base model Grizzly 700 first choice, and King Quad 750 eps plus second choice. That hurt to say that but it is correct for me.
I saw another video where the guy was popping wheelies super easy. Does the bike just do that itself or was the guy making it do it? Im not th emost experienced driver and dont want something that just pops wheelies without even trying.
With the power and clutching of a machine like this, the front end will come up easier than some. It still takes some effort and know-how though. A manual machine with a true clutch like a Raptor 700 is easier to pull it off. That said, this isn't really a beginner machine unless you have restraint and will power. There's more motor than chassis and brakes and knowing your own limits will go a long way.. I'd never dissuade anyone from getting a machine for that reason, but I'd recommend starting on a 700 class machine or smaller if you don't have a ton of expirience. You'll be surprised at how much power an ATV in the 700 class has... But they're a little more forgiving...
Nice machine!! I got a new expensive atv coming soon too 😁 ... it's a problem only if you believe in such a thing..🤣 my only complaint with this video is wasnt long enough i had to watch it twice to get my Dirt Obsexxion. Fix. ❤
I'd love this bike with the xmr snorkel setup added to it. I'm from Louisiana and here. Well let's just say you'll need the snorkels if you plan to keep the bike. Thats a awesome machine. Id love that machine just as it sits but itll have to have snorkels to survive.
Totally understand that, but it would be easier to add the skid plate and footpegs to an XMR than to add snorkels to an XXC.. That would be my guess anyway
I had both Outlander xxc 2019 and Renegade xxc 2020. The Outty is on the plush side, high speed drift feel "wobblely" in some situations. The ergonomics are on point. Th Rene xxc just slide better and flatter. The immediate response make it feel more precise. Not to mention about the lighter front end that pops wheelies on demand. If you do not work with your atv go with the Rene hands down.
Well done sir, so the outlander 1000 x xc is more of a race 4x4 and it offers more for that style than the renegade x xc? Dang, so if I like to hunt but aggressive trail ride, you said the xtp?
Yeah, it's really a comparison of features that boils to preference of suspension and either prioritizing front racks and a winch on the XT-P or skidplates and better sight lines on the X-XC.. They're both great tho.. And you can add Skid plates to the XT-P or add a winch to the X-XC
@@DirtObseXXion it is funny how 5 years ago we all said, paying 15-20k for a sxs is stupid, then sxs went to 20-30k and now sport quads are 15-20k and we rationalize getting the most bang for our 15k 😳🤓 Well played atv manufacturers well played 😂
@@brutelife9177 I think it will be back. My guess it's finally getting some updates, hopefully updated 4x4 activation and suspension.. Kawasaki has done this with other machines, the KLR disappeared before it received it's updates.. Either that or it will be replaced with something slightly smaller like a 500 class machine.
I ride there all the time with my XXC. Definitely more jeeps and sxs there, but the trails aren't terribly rutted...yet. Not as big as LBL, but way bigger than Canmer with marked trails.

Fix. ❤
Lol! Thanks brother, you make as many moves as we do!
@@DirtObseXXion someone has to at least try and compete 🤣
Great vid as usual, guys! Not the quad for me, I'll stick with my Grizz, but I did enjoy hearing about it.
I'll always love the Grizzly, it's the benchmark in my opinion.. This was just a little different flavor.. Thanks for checking it out brother!
Hard to ever beat a Grizz!
Nice machines, but I dont see me purchasing one.. FB said I would hate it....
Great review.. 👍👍👍
It's got one too many wheels and it's not red 🤷♂️
I'd love this bike with the xmr snorkel setup added to it. I'm from Louisiana and here. Well let's just say you'll need the snorkels if you plan to keep the bike. Thats a awesome machine. Id love that machine just as it sits but itll have to have snorkels to survive.
Totally understand that, but it would be easier to add the skid plate and footpegs to an XMR than to add snorkels to an XXC.. That would be my guess anyway
now they have completely new 101hp outlanders. the competition is toast for real. new 999cc dohc engine.
Can you have back seat on XXC?
You could probably buy one, but it would be a rough ride.. I'd look foe a 2-seat XT-P personally
Really good alternative perspective! Thanks!

Where are y'all riding ?
Most of that is in Canmer KY where we usually film our vids.. Some was WV
@@DirtObseXXion it is funny how 5 years ago we all said, paying 15-20k for a sxs is stupid, then sxs went to 20-30k and now sport quads are 15-20k and we rationalize getting the most bang for our 15k 😳🤓
Well played atv manufacturers well played 😂
@@brutelife9177 It's their world.. We just live in it
@@DirtObseXXion we’re you surprised the brute force was dropped all together?
@@brutelife9177 I think it will be back. My guess it's finally getting some updates, hopefully updated 4x4 activation and suspension.. Kawasaki has done this with other machines, the KLR disappeared before it received it's updates.. Either that or it will be replaced with something slightly smaller like a 500 class machine.
You guys should come ride at Coalmont OHV Park.
Any good? Looks a mostly jeep and sxs kinda place..
I ride there all the time with my XXC. Definitely more jeeps and sxs there, but the trails aren't terribly rutted...yet. Not as big as LBL, but way bigger than Canmer with marked trails.
@A Mccauley Nice! Canmer is just super close to home for us, and convenient to film.. I like White Sulfur, LBL, and Red Bird Crest when we're just riding.. Harder to film at those places tho..
Being close to home makes a big difference.
Great video guys. Cant decide between an 850/1000 outlander or one of the new 700 outlanders. Coming off an 08 grizz 700 and want some more juice. Hopefully you guys compare the new outlander chassis to old in a shootout soon!!!
Yeah I do want to grab one of those 700s, but I'd say if you want more juice, definitely go with the 850.
Fun Machines guys thanks for the review was fun to watch. 😀 I left a 👍247 have a Great Weekend 🌞 👋😎
Thanks Chas! Appreciate you brother!
Haha i would rap myself around a tree with this quad for sure !
Lol!
i taught the xxc had the 3 brakes like yamaha?
No, just one hand brake lever.. The Renegade might, pretty sure it use too, not sure about the new ones
They shoulda got rid of the single lever brakes and went dual lever...big miss on a quad like this.
I agree 👍
I'd get myself killed on that thing!!!!! but be fun!
Lol! That's the best way to avoid the payments...
704 Cassin Trace
Time for this to come from the factory supercharged, an extra 200cc, and cost at least $30k. That would be about right. We've been stuck at 1000cc far too long.
Honestly, just kidding, especially about the price.
Lol! You had me going... What you're describing is a death wish... If the machine doesn't kill, the wife will, if she finds out what you paid.. 🤣🤣

Oh man. That is one bad mother sucker. Rotaxxxxx bebby! I’ll just go ahead and take a 1000R engine to stuff in my KingQuad 750 lol!
Lol! You could call it a Suzam
I wish they kept the front rack cause the front looks naked
It's different, but honestly it increases the line of sight which is important for the guys who are going to race it.

Never mind
Big Can Am Fan but man the outlander is one UGLY machine!!! I do wish my Renegade had more mud protection..
LOL! I guess all in the eye of the beholder...
@@DirtObseXXion Ok so I take back what I said the Xxc is one UGLY machine! The XT-P is dang nice looking!!
They look like the caméraman is pointing a gun on them.
Outlander
here in Sweden they cost 21k.......
Wow! Very expensive. I didn't realize we had any viewers from Sweden!
@@DirtObseXXion yeah they are really expensive. But small market and strict rules where u cant even drive on ur own land in recreational purposes only for work.
XXC
The shocks on the xt-p models are garbage if you’re over 220 pounds
I didn't think so (240) but I definitely had to increase the pre-load.. Suspension is typically set up for 160-180lbs out of the box..
@@DirtObseXXion on mine… the shocks got disgustingly soft after a few hundred km. Nowhere near the same quality of shocks that come on the XXC
@@beri232 We found that issue on the base 1000r and the XT, but the Fox Podiums typically hold up well.. Are you talking about the XT?
@@DirtObseXXion no. I own a 2017 XT-P 1000R. I sold the OEM shocks and put on some Stage 4 Elka’s. They aren’t as soft.
A zero turn lawnmower is better.
I don't know what to say to that... Friggen cracked me up tho!
I’d love to do a review on my Spartan!
Its to heavy to race ! Yfz450 for that..
The YFZ is undoubtedly faster on a track or in XC racing..
