    I just bought a HD7 Pro XU to replace my Kawasaki Brute Force 750. So far I’m very pleased with it. It’s a fantastic machine for the type of hunting and fishing I do. Small trails, deep evergreen forests, small streams, large rivers. Just need to find a good kayak rack for it, and ill be all set.

      Awesome, congrats! Hope you have as much fun as I'm having on mine!

    You have more hours than mine, but I fully agree with you. It's a good damn machine, especially for the price. Power is more than adequate for trails and hard work. Features are great and plentiful. Seat is one of the most comfortable I have ever sat on. And this engine is so smooth. Much smoother than my Grizz 700.

      Thanks @Dusdaddy, you said it perfectly. I really do agree with the seat, man I love it!

    Nothing like having a nice reliable machine !! You can keep all the high powered tricked out ones as far as I am concerned !!!

      At this age for sure! Not interested in the big powerful machines anymore, this one does just fine. Thanks Vance!

      Thanks Fred! Been trying to get out in the boat but can't make it past the break wall. The winds just won't quit this spring. Hope you've gotten out.

    I like how the Arrow rear rack lifts up so you can still get at the storage compartment.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  6 місяців тому

      Yes, that was my main draw to it. He has a newer latch and hinge system for it now since this version but I have yet to see it and test it out. The way I have mine now it's working great and I love it. Thanks quaddingsous!

    The champion einches are excellent value.
    My inly issue was that when in free spool the one i had didnt have the feature that prevents steel line from releasing its stored energy.
    Switched to a synthetic cable and its the best budget winch you can get. Ive put them on 3 of my ATV's, very reliable.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  6 місяців тому

      Ya, I like the synthetic lines better than the steel ones, haven't had one break yet. Thanks Man!

    How do you keep your dewalt chains saw from leaking bar oil? Mine leaks like a siv

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks Man! Ya mine leaks too. Except on the atv, I keep it laying on it's right side and it doesn't leak. I tried to clean it up and put a new o-ring on the cap but it still leaks, especially if the oil reservoir is full up, not as bad if it's about a quarter full.

    Hey Rob, finaly pulled the trigger on this badboy, just wondering when did you do your first oil change and valve adjustement ?

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +2

      The dealer did the first oil change at 20 hours. The owners manual says 100 hours of use after that. I did another oil change myself just before this video. For valves the manual says 200 hours. Congrats and happy trails!

    Do you miss not having power steering?

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +1

      Sometimes it would be nice. Just about had a big crash yesterday when I hit a rock on the trail and the bars slammed to the right causing me to nearly roll and strain my thumb, wrist and shoulder trying to save it...wouldn't have happened with power steering. Thanks Man!

      @@RobFarrowATVFor me, PS is here not there. I had a KQ 750 and an AC 300 without. I ride in NS and the KQ seems to have a lot of bump steer complaints, but I've never had that issue ever. And I'm in NS where we have every type of terrain.
      Honestly, I slightly prefer no PS as I always felt better connected to the ground and what's going on.

    Is there a lot of grease fittings to get at like the older Can Ams? I had three 650's and I think there was about 12 of them that were a pain.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +4

    Hey, what mounting brackets did you get for your handguards ? If you have a link, that would be very appreciated, seen some but says they are not compatible so hesitating on ordering them ! Would help me lots

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +1

      They are the BRP wrap around guards. I'm not sure what the actual model is as the dealer ordered them. Seemed to be just a normal wrap around style. I saw them on a 2023 ATV that was on display at the dealer and said I want those, they never said anything about not being compatible and they fit fine. Good luck!

    Once the Mudpro bites the dust I'm switching teams to the new Can-am HD7. They finally did away with the push pins and made everything easier to get at and change. Some day lol

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +1

      They've dropped a lot of items that they upgraded on the previous models, mostly to save on cost. It would be nice to have some of them but I'm happy with what this machine is. Thanks Man!

    Now that you've had the HD7 for a while, have you gone on any decent trail ride where you weren't in low range and going through mud? I'm curious if you have a ballpark on how many miles to the tank you might be able to get for general trail riding.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  4 місяці тому +1

      Pretty much all my ridding on the 700 is in high, not very often I need to put it into low. Although I don't go that far without putting gas in, it can get at least 180kms to a tank, maybe more. Thanks!

      @@RobFarrowATV I picked up the hd7. that low gear is very low. Almost useless for me, but high gear is very useful and low gear is rarely needed. I use low gear for plowing and when I’m stuck, but I don’t get stuck very much.

    Do you know what makes it a PRO version? Is it just accessories or other mechanical stuff? It’s hard to tell online. Probably stiffer springs?

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy 7 місяців тому +1

      I have the Pro Hunter. Stiffer suspension that gives me max ground clearance and 12" wheels with the 6-ply tires. According to Can-Am it is supposed to be geared more for slower, harder work but I can't attest to noticing any difference.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  7 місяців тому +1

      @OneRide The rider of course LOL! I think cause it's built more for work than play they call it a Pro but I'm not exactly sure. I don't have the Hunter version but could be some of what @Dusdaddy said. Thanks!
