Every pocket knife I own, probably 10 now, has been my favorite this year. I just got into this hobby this year. I've spent way too much money thanks to you guys! Most favorite would be my Kizer Drop Bear. So good that I bought 2, one in s35vn and the other on the fat carbon and 20cv.
I had a similar path, then I got to the point of not wanting to give the Communist Party of China anymore money and I put money into American knives

I have that same Ohlone GOAT AXL, and holy hell is it nice. Mine also broke in to be fantastically smooth .Major props to them for the zero billboarding on the knife. It lets a beautiful design speak for itself. I wish other companies would take a lesson from them in that respect.

the new Microtech ram lock is the greatest release in American history that knife hasn't left my pocket since I got it and it's been months I sleep wit in my pocket it's a perfect USA designed master piece
Agree 100% with more Vision FG variants. I have the Damascus and white g10 version and it’s wonderful.
Having more knives with the Super Lock would be a win as well

Shout out to my favorite letter opener, the Civivi Sentinel Strike. Just can't, or am not supposed to, carry it in my state. Have though.
Everyone loves the Civivi Vision FG but I still haven’t seen custom scales for it that don’t have the 3 hole cutouts. Hopefully Civivi takes the advice and makes many more versions of the Vision FG to meet a bunch of different style preferences.
I have around 80 very nice knives in my collection so far and you are correct about the exo because it is one of my favorites. Before I ordered it I thought I wouldn’t like it no where near the way I do know. I highly recommend this knife
That Microtech is nice!!! Lock reminds me of the Spyderco Ball Lock.

I'm with you on the Stitch. I'd just started appreciating a slimmer edc after falling hard for the full size Adamas. I went from that to 940s and Smocks, really leaning into ti scales. Slim pocket life was growing on me. ...then I bought a Ram Lok Stitch... It hasn't taken a day off.
I'm old enough to remember that when you saw the words: "Made in Taiwan," it would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
MC!! you just put a smile on my face. its about the civivi vision. ive had mine now for 3 days and cant put the dam thing down! as a matter of fact im having to use other fingers other than my index finger, its actually starting to get a little sore, im telling you, i cant put it down!! besides all that ive been watching several reviews on this knife and are some mixed reactions, well from one channel for sure! but after hearing your thoughts on the vision, again, there isnt a doubt in my mind that i own a great knife. love your channel and your knives. take care.....
I’m currently looking at getting a Orion 3 Vanax. So I’m very happy to see the praise Vanax is getting. I saw a test video where a guy made a bleach, salt, vinegar and baking soda concoction and left it in for a few days. Left it out for a few days and the Vanax was quite literally unmarked. I don’t need that level of corrosion resistance but, I want it.

@@metal_complex I fail to see why anyone would disagree. Who wouldn’t want untouchable steel or an over engineered 1/4 inch fat boy? If we all went for cost effective practicality the world would be full of 98 Honda Accords. What a boring world that would be.
I’ve had to sell 4 of my old fixed blades from my collection to get the money for that Vanax blade, but next payday it will be mine.
I appreciate you mentioning the lack of LH clip on the Riot. I'd be very interested in it were it available. There's really no excuse for a legitimate company to not provide for their LH market whehn a straight clip accommodates for such an easy option to include.
Guys…on my Exo M…I put 4 little TINY strips of black gaffers tape on the curves where the 2 oblong pins make contact with the curve in the frame when opening and closing. They are not noticeable and my knife doesn’t rattle when closed and has no blade play when opened. So far the tape has longevity as it is just acting as a shock absorber! 👍🏼
I absolutely love my Padre, it's my only Kunwu at the moment, I'm glad i got one when i did because i heard they're gonna stop making them
I was able to grab 2 stitches, i have never had a knife this sharp out of the box

I love my MSI ,off Microtech site and it’s my weekend knife,probably never take it too work it’s my baby,the stitch isn’t in my budget,maybe ask for my 53 birthday,my grandpa got me into knives,he had old timer,so that’s where my love started,love to hear how plp started their love for this stuff!
Something about the knife community that has always amused me is how many people talk about lock strength, hardiness and ease of cleaning, I always think like: okay remove the camo shorts there mister cardboard slayer...

I just recently picked up the Kizer Drop Bear and that has been my favorite knife and also the most aesthetically pleasing knives to look at.
The Stitch is by far my favorite of 2023 and boy is it sharp 😊
You’re not wrong about the sharpness! Been carrying mine quite a bit and I’m surprised at how pocket friendly it is considering its size.

I would love a "mini/micro" Stitch, shorter blade under 3" and slightly shorter handle, just overall smaller and easier to pocket carry.
I have a Klein tool 3” stainless sheepsfoot(electrician) made in Japan. Took the belt hook and flip stud off. Love it.

I wish the Brat was a front-flipper. I really don't like flipper tabs cause they get in the way. The Vision FG is a knife I absolutely LOVE and carry every day (along with an S30V Shaman). I really hope that Civivi does more knives with the Super-Lock. I LOVE the Super-Lock.
The Padre hasn’t left my pocket since I got it a month ago. Such an awesome knife.

Bought the civivi on your recommendation as my first edc knife! Didnt have it in me to spend a lot on my first.
BladeHQ has a large EXO with a lock. It's a coping blade (whatever that means) with Elmax steel. Single edged, but good cutting geometry.
no doubt about it the ram lock is the greatest knife lock to date hands down better than anything
A mini of the MSI is what I would like. Love its design. 3 inch blade please.

Ive sort of calmed down buying knifes this year and i think since last November ive carried my unumzaan solely except for the my custom bladed pm2 and my smoko designs knifes looking forward to getting a vampire jack soon though

Unfortunately I sold most of all my MSI’s and RL Stitches. Low serials and the double hex pivot screw with the hidden screws. I’ll probably purchase the 170$ MSI at some point but I sold them all to go for the Amphibian. I think that is the knife of this year even coming out just a couple months ago. I do with they had the double hex pivot screw to make it look mirrored on both sides if you flip the clip but I also wish MTK would sell a flat clip like they had on the original RL Stitch.
The one I look at like that is a para 2 with the tanto blade grind. It's awesome.
The Kunwu padre and the Miguron flix ll have not left my pocket since I got them! These two knives are just sooooooo good it’s not funny! The chaves/reate 229 kickstop is the best flipper knife of 23 for me! It hasn’t left my pocket either!
The Flix II is a great knife and it's been in my pocket almost every time I leave the house and I'm not going to work. The one I got was unforgivinglly sharp out the box as well.

Seems like Padre n Stitch have very similar lines and you could cut the stitch out of the padre. Lol. Seemed like an example of the point he was making about the padre not being directly derivative of any one design

My most pined after knives were the PM2, AD20.5, and the Stitch.
Now, it's the Arcade, the Stitch and the Amphibian.
I had also wanted to get a Vision FG, but I feel like I should just spend a bit more and get the Arcade, instead.
I also want to like the MSI, but the blade shape for the price just doesn't quite interest me enough.
I think you do the best knife reviews I've had some recent health problems so being obsessing about these knives on this phone I hate those people that do the knife reviews and the camera is on them more than it is on the knife and it's usually some real boring ass person that does that
My knife tastes lean toward spyderco like knives which are slim or space efficient with broad blades.

Supposedly, coil springs on bar locks can’t handle shock very well. I don’t know 1st hand, but there’s plenty of people making videos of them fail. Same as button locks with spine whacks

I would personally have the Microtech Amphibian as number one. The only thing I don’t like about the Stitch is the cutting edge is pretty short compared to the blade size due to the large finger choil. Great knife though. Just like the Amphibian better!

Id like to think im a knife guy. I just saw the video and said to myself if he dont include the BRAT im strongly questioning his knife knowledge. To me its insane for 100 bucks. It might be my ALL TIME favorite Blade so far. There is SOOO much good with it.... WOW...
I agree with a lot of your list, especially on the more budget side (Brat, Vision FG). For me, I'd add the Civivi Sentinel Strike, which guiltily I like better than the FG for its size/weight, ease of manipulation/multiple deployments, and especially it's ergos (really feel like the FG could use some better champhering, and scalloping by the thumbstuds/index choil). I'm interested in the Microtech MSI, but I've heard 2 big criticisms: very soft M390 and that it easily fails the spine wack test. Any opinion on those?

I have an Exo and like it, but it’s likely one of the most illegal knives anywhere for carry which makes it an odd choice for an EDC list. I get it, it’s your list. Just sayin’

Its funny to me how small the Stitch looks in your hands on camera. I was finally able to aquire a auto Stitch last week (thanks to EKnives) , and I was surprised to see how big it actually was once I opened the box. The thing is built like a freaken tank. Tbh, the only thing I'm not really fond of is the clip. If the clip didn't have that secondary lip in the middle, I wouldn't hate it, but it makes it hard securing in my jeans pockets. Think I may try out the timascus aftermarket clip EKnives sells for the auto Stitch just to add some pop to the black aluminum handles and the stonewashed blade and to see if it hopefully makes it better getting in/out of pocket (assuming the timascus clip dont have that secondary lip) for me. I like the auto Stitch alot (other than the pocket clip) but tbh, my EKnives edition Shirogorov has been my favorite edc knife I've ever owned. I can't find any info on the Cromax PM blade steel, but it holds an edge for an exceptionally long time, can be sharpened to an exceptionally fine edge, and it's easy to maintain.
Fyi, there should be a Lynch clip coming very soon. I'm holding my breath.
@studrake I'll have to keep out an eye out for one from Lynch then. The only ones I know of so far are from Maverick Customs, which is actually who makes the timascus ones EKnives has in stock. They also have multiple other colors in titanium as well as a dark gray scalloped clip that would probably look great with the black handles and stonewashed blade. Either way, they're a completely different shape, and they're smooth, so they should make it a lot easier getting in/out of pocket. For under $60, I think I may try one.
I almost got a vision fg, but the tests I saw done showed that some of them had soft or burnt edges so that put me off of it, I will probably wait till I start seeing some more promising testing before I get one.
Well, it is a China knife. I hate China knives. Period.
microtech really needs to put a "fin" on the spine side of the ram lock

I’ve seen soooo many of the ram lock microtechs fail from the lightest tap. Just watched video guy had 3 in from microtech and they all failed. Kinda bummed me out cuz I’ve been waiting for straight spring axis style lock for a long time! 😂 But if they’ve been good for you I’ll have to do some more digging. Definitely look awesome though! 🔥🔪👍👊😎

Honestly, I dream about a manual/auto Stitch in MagnaCut, Vanax, or a coated CruWear. If MicroTech ever decides to upgrade the steel, I’m definitely buying it. I’m not the biggest fan of M390 on a knife I plan to carry/use. I know it would be totally fine coming from a quality company like MT but, I feel like the Stitch deserves a better steel!! Hopefully my dream comes to fruition. Come on MicroTech!! Instead of M390MK, I wanna see fuckin MagnaCutMK 😂.
Do you have any insider information on whether we are actually going to see more variants of the ram-lok sitch ? I have the G-10 but like you I want more , I could get a black aluminum right now , but I'm hesitant because I want more than just black. Help
Since they did an aluminum version, it's more likely than not that there will be different color anodized versions in the near future.
