Loved watching your creative process on this! Those pencils came out perfect! 👏👏👏👏
I’d love to see what you can do with leather. Specifically tassels - I have some dope leather purse backpacks I am completely customizing. I am trying to source long - 7” fringe tassels but I’m having a heck of a time finding them. Happy to purchase to sponsor the video! 😎

Would the engrave time be reduced if you turned the top row of pencils around so the names are in the middle of the jig.

  • @billholder253
    @billholder253 Рік тому +1

Why not take the pencils from one group, rotate them 180° to where the erasers are now towards the center of the board. Then take the other group of pencils are repeat the same process.
Will need to flip the name template upside down for the upper group and reposition them.
For the lower group name template, just reposition them as well.
The distance traveling between engravings has been greatly reduced.
    Just a thought...

I like your idea. You just have to do each column in a different color so the laser runs each column separately and avoids tracking over the blank space between each pencil.

Hi, I started with the same laser I have 7 years later. My Trotec Speedy 300 80 watt. I recommend them or Epilog because of the life they have with little to no issues.

    Great video Nickole!
In the interest of efficiency, you may be able to save even a little more time if you group your engravings by shape, rather than run across the whole bed back and forth. I know this option exists in Lightburn. Looking forward to more of your videos!

Yes, but I don't know how it would come out. You'd want it fast so it doesn't melt, and to pick a font that is easily read. Try it! Let me know :)

The first section music was dramatically less appealing than the second section. The second section of the video was awesome 😎 the music and the editing. First portion of video 4/10. Second part 10/10. Especially bc the pace picked up for viewers like me who have short attn span :) but good information I like how you thoroughly explained your process! Thank you I’m going to try it. 🎉

I mean... You can easily make more profit, by buying bulk...
If this is something you do quite a lot, I'd look into buying bulk from somewhere like China. You'll have to do some quality control, and check each pencil for cracks and stuff... Kind of quality control, a seller do for you on Amazon.
I use quite a lot of MDF. Used to buy it from the local hardware store, who sells smaller sheets of 80x120cm instead of the standard 120x240cm. Isn't very expensive at all... Till I found a seller in China. I can get 6 sheets there, for the same price as 1 here at home. MDF sheets are quite tough, when stacked, but it does happen that I'll get a piece I can't use. But I still practically got 4 free sheets.
So yeah... If it's about making the most profit, look into importing bulk.

I have a suggestion for your videos, cut the music volume 25%-50%. Hard to hear you talk over the loud background music sometimes.
