Hi Friends Welcome back to the craft castle! Today I’m showing you how to create a pencil jig for your glowforge. Using the steps in this tutorial you can actually create a jig for any item that you're wanting to mass produce and engrave.
I personally like creating jigs that I can place inside the bed and never have to adjust or figure out the correct alignment. I know a lot of jigs how there are made so you'll have to cut it out every single time, and that wastes so much time. Doing jigs like how I create in this video is something that you'll be able to use time and time again, never having to stop and cut one out, saving you time and energy.

Hi Ashlee,
I know this might be a dumb question, but on the last step of making the pencil jig, you select all and right click to pick the "lock selected objects". When I select all and right click, it doesn't give me that option. I was wondering if I can find it somewhere else on inscape? Also, I'm using windows vs mac.

Hi! Go to the very top and press: layer, then lock/unlock current layer

if you go to the very top of your toolbar and click object, at the very bottom you should see a button that says "align and distribute"

I've had my Glowforge for over two years and still can't make a jig right. 😢😢 Do you make a note of where you placed the material in the glowforge?? How do you know where to put the material the next time? you

@@NaturalBronzeQTee because I use a full proof grade sheet of material, I don't have to remember where I put it. The proof grade material sits perfectly in the honeycomb tray every time.
