- Rachel Nichols breaks down the Twitter fight between former Thunder teammates Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Durant after Perk said Russell Westbrook was the best player Oklahoma City ever had. Perkins (3:43) starts by apologizing to Westbrook for overshadowing his return to OKC and clarifies that he does not believe that Russ is a better overall player than KD, but stands by the comments he made. Chauncey Billups adds that he doesn’t like the fact that people on Twitter were able to come between the brotherhood that Perk and Durant share.

Funked Up obviously he’s talking about KD duh but, he’s right in regards to Perks initial claim which was that Westbrook is the “best” player to wear a Thunder Jersey. KD is the “best” player out of the two and Westbrook is the player that means the most to the Thunder, instead of putting down KD to elevate Westbrook, all he had to do was clarify what he meant, which he later on did after the fact.

Everybody has a role on a team...it wasnt Perks role to score more points...and if it was and he wasnt delivering then their best player was supposed to get him going. What was his field goal percentage? How many touches did he get? Capela is trash and there's no way Harden letting him average 2 points...throw him 2 lobs a game and that's already 4 points.

Simple as that. Nothing that requires a paragraph. A 7fter who can shoot and has a body type that lacks brute strength, but he makes up for it with mobility. He’s better because he can score on anyone and shoot over anyone because of his size. But mentally, he’s not a leader, he doesn’t embrace challenges and he doesn’t have a killer instinct. He wanted rings and he got them, he didn’t and doesn’t care HOW he got them. And that’s something that competitive players(whether they were as technically skilled as him or not) will never be okay with. And why would they? They see a guy who has the skill, but mentally, Wasn’t tough enough. It’s his choice, but he’ll never be considered the goat by anyone because of it🤷🏾♂️

OKC also lost from Rockets in playoffs after KD left. Does this means that Mr Thunder is no more? Or because we are 3 years past that elimination, it doesn't count? In reality, Westbrook had to agree to the trade and he did , so he left too for the chance to get a ring. The only difference is that Westbrook got his phat contract before he leaves. KD was honest and just left. Teams should honor the players that contributed to their success and stay away from toxic fan behaviour. ( KD is not an angel, but he is not the devil too)

He has also yet to win an MVP award, which will help net you more popularity points. With him moving to LA, it's probable that he'd get a larger following. But his silent nature may prevent him from earning enough brownie points with the fans.
LBJ has cemented himself as one of the all time greats, even being part of the GOAT conversation. He has had multiple MVPs, multiple rings, and multiple Finals MVPs. He has done what only a few can do, and his brand is secure. But to take it to the next level, winning a chip in his old age will help him.
