Yup, we had 3 adopted cats that were abused. They went from hiding under the bed and scrambling whenever a male walked towards them to allowing me (6'3" male) to rub bellies and fall asleep on my lap. It takes time and lots of love but they can be made to trust people again!
Had cat raised with several dogs and she barked and acted exactly like the dogs. Even went out and did her business outside like them. Buddy is a keeper!
I've never heard a cat do that before. There was no twitching tail, no huge pupils and no trying to rip Vanessa to shreds, just some mild adorable protesting. I'm so glad someone rescued this beautiful cat.

The second one was a big mean dog edited in, and she calmly said "I think he thinks hes a dog" With no reaction to the demonic bark that would have just took place from a cat. The first 1 was funny, genuine reaction. The second one would be studied by science, and she reacted as if the first 1 happened again. Obvious editing
I had a cat when I was little that acted like a dog. Her name was Graycie and she was an outdoor cat and our dog was also an outdoor dog. The cat was the runt of the litter and my dog Max adopted her. She did everything with him, eating, drinking and sleeping. She barked and even wagged her tail like a dog.
When I was a child, I read a story about a real cat that was raised by a dog and thought she was one, barked instead of meowing. I always wondered what that sounded like, now I know.
He was very much against the whole procedure but still tolerated it as best as he could. No astronaut helmet, no safety glass dryer. He places his paws on your arms a few times but not even with his claws out. Buddy is doing so well!

My first cat was half Siamese but looked like a half-tabby/half-white mix. His mother was 100% Siamese, tho, so he had the genes. He also had the vocal repertoire, so we heard everything...but a bark. So this was a first for me. :D

We had a pair of newborn kittens that lost their mom, so we gave them to a nursing dog and hoped for the best. Of all the animals rescued over the ears, best cats ever because they had such dog like personalities
I've always made my own, just blend up regular wet food with some water and boom, instant tube. I keep it in a sealed container in the fridge and take out a spoonful as a treat.
I think she used to call the treats by their actual product names but now she just call them tubes. Probably because she didn't want to give the products a bad name.
And acts like one! I had no trouble reading him (I usually struggle with cats) and it wasn't until Vanessa pointed out that his ears were back that I realized it's because he's using doggie body language😅

We had a Maine Coon/Ragdoll mix. He was a massive 20 pound gorgeous male black tabby. He was normally very calm. Then there was catnip crazy time, when he would grumble & bark. He would gallop though the house, throw his toys in the waterbowl to drown them, then disappear downstairs to calm down & sleep it off. Our 30 pound dog would head outside, until that cat went for a nap. (But our 8 pound cat bullied that big boy, most days!)

We are pretty sure he came from a home with bully breed dogs. He has zero fear of my two dogs, neither of which are extremely cat friendly due to a grumpy old lady cat we still have. He spits when he is playing, still at almost three years. He also to my dismay eats dog food. My little dog is a snacker so I can’t totally prevent this. His best friend and brother is the cat in my avatar, Sterling. He is totally fascinated with our three farm-cat ladies who live in the garage, especially the lovely Vesper.

The yipping and biting is common in cats that are taught to not use claws. Hes a smart little tuxie boy and someone put a lot of time into teaching him to communicate without nails.
It reminded me of case my mom had years ago, probably was a caboodle case, but I always wanted to use it for my barbies.😂 She had it full of hair things, like clips and stuff. So buddy's carrier reminds me of both. Barbies and caboodle😂

I'm assuming Buffy likely learned to bark from dogs on the property in his last home. He likely saw that barking was probably the best way to get his abusers to leave him alone. I'm so glad he's in a much better home.
Something they don't like the dryer pushing upward, instead just down like a brushing motion. Sometimes for them or any animal it can feels weird the back and forth especially since going upward opens up the fur and they feel that heat on their skin directly ( even though it's not that hot it's something about it ) Although that helps the drying go faster out can help to do it the opposite way the first couple grooms just to get them use to the grooming thing at least. Just from a bit of experience 🙏💕 for anyone that wants to do at home. Hope it helps
Reminds me of my first cat Mr. Nibbles. He was abandoned by his mother at too young of an age. But he didn't bark, but he would try to claw you with his teeth when upset.

Reminds me of my first cat Mr. Nibbles. He was abandoned by his mother at too young of an age. But he didn't bark, but he would try to claw you with his teeth when upset.

Why always Taxedos 😂❤ I rescued one from streets. He lived with dogs and was so smol that dogs teached him and he stayed with them for like 2, 3days then we adopted him.. He lick us like a dog on face ❤️❤️😂
