I was falling asleep to the season honestly, and then that boy does this, genuinely I felt as if I was in the public, it was incredibly done, what they wanted to do with him absolutely worked, my boy Melt is now top 1 character in my heart of that anime because not only is he relatable but it was just so emotional I can't even describe this
Melt's struggle is honestly so relatable. Okay, maybe not the popularity shit, but the thing about him thinking he could just wing it. You can really tell that he genuinely feels guilty over ruining that tv show and also making others have to go down to his level. That's why his moment is so impactful, as Aqua said, we don't have too high hopes for him
The fact that an episode focusing on such a minor character can produce this much of an emotional hit just shows how good Akasaka-sensei and Doga Kobo are at what they do. Best episode so far this season.
3:05 actually it was said that Touki (Aqua's character) and Tsurugi (Kana's character) was the popular ship in the fandom, which reduced the screentime of Princess Saya (Akane's character).
Aka Akasaka really has an unparalleled ability to take a character you initially dislike or are ambivalent about and do a complete 180 with them in just a few minutes of storytelling. It worked in Kaguya-sama and is twice as effective in this story where people in the entertainment industry have far more depth than what the audience sees at a surface level. Incredible stuff
@@Z0D1ACC People didn't always like him. People were okay with him. Some liked his angsty teen gamer shtick but people didn't become head over heels with him until the sports festival arc. It's kind of hard not to like a flawed character when you are shown exactly when he became so flawed and given ample justification as to why. Maki is another clean example but mostly manga only. Season 3 got the ball rolling but I would think its hard for anime onlys to see past tsundere senpai's... well tsun when they don't know what else she does. She had a similar start to Ishigami in the anime. Girl says some wild things (that she doesn't really mean like Ishigami as much as he thinks he means it), is the source of comedic relief for the audience and not much else (yet).
your reaction to melt really got me thinking "if melt ever were to participate in an idol survival show, he will definitely got public votes and will end up in debut team"
as a manga reader (dw, i won't spoil), i was really looking forward to this. melt and his moment here are underrated, but i think the anime elevating this scene will help it stay in people's minds for longer! i also appreciate that you understand aqua. he strikes me as an unreliable narrator due to his trauma among other things... it can be easy to gloss over the examples of him being a genuinely kind person because HE doesn't see or present himself as kind. that doesn't mean he's the bad person he thinks he is, though, just that he has a warped sense of self.
One of my favorite story character archetypes are the characters that did horrible things or did fuck ups in their past and try to become better people and change.
I read the manga and I gotta say the manga doesn’t even come close to conveying this level of emotion The animation adds SO SO much and just gives you so many more layers to the characters in my opinion
i sobbed for approximately 15 minutes after this episode. 🧍🧍🧍🧍 while looking at fan content for this anime a year ago, i accidentally found out that this melt guy wasnt just a shitty background character and that he has his own arc and character development. i got curious so i read the chapter this episode adapted and he's been one of my favorite characters ever since, even if that was the only oshi no ko manga chapter ive ever read ive been waiting about a year for my boy to finally have his moment animated and its finally here and they did him so well i cant believe how good they did him i cant stress enough how incredible and beautiful and how much i love this episode ive legit never cried out of happiness before i never expected that this anime would bring this emotion out of me even when i knew my own excitement towards this episode but im STILL bawling my eyes out ive only found my passion for acting a few months ago, and i forgot a lot about this chapter of the manga because i refused to look back at it so i can relive it all through the anime. melts character and his story both before entering the showbiz and after and his passion and hardworking nature just spoke out to me so much it rlly does feel like i see myself in him that just added more to my crying 💔💔 narushima melt ily im your biggest fan 🔥🔥‼️‼️😭😭 THANK YOU AKA AKASAKA FOR CREATING HIM 🙏🙏 (if yall see this comment on other reactors' videos then shhhhhh i just wanna share my love for this character LMFOAOAO 🙌🙌)
I really loved Melt's arc in the manga, and I was expecting something super cathartic, but this blew my expectations out of the water. This lil bean needs to be protected at all costs
Tokyo blade is probably my favorite arc, they're doing a great job with it. I can't wait for the climax in episode 9 (i think?). Next arc is also really good, this season is a banger
this anime is soo good in presenting a character with a flaw and redeeming them in the perfect way like GOA(the script writer) , Akane or even our beloved mellt iam waiting for kamoshida's LOL
Aka Akasaka has cemented himself as my favorite mangaka. He does side characters right here and in kaguya sama you're just waiting for everyone to get their time to shine and everyone ends up being your favorite character at some point in some way. If you think someone's a throw away character you just haven't seen enough of them yet.
Yeah, of all the characters in the show, Melt was probably the last one I expected to actually enjoy having the majority of the episode's attention focus on.
This is the best episode of the Tokyo Blade arc, and I really enjoyed watching your reaction to it, #AlanaMisako. My favorite character in this anime series is Akane because she is the best girl, and also because she's so cute and adorable.
in any other series Melt would be the type of one-off character who fade into the background after their role is over. only in OnK would he get this much development and screentime to show how he, like everyone else, is capable of growth like a human being instead of a cardboard cutout background character
Nope, It's Touki that is shipped with Tsurugi to the point that Princess Saya was branded as the forgotten heroine by the fandom cause she almost have no screentime in the lattter part of the Tokyo blade manga
what an incredible episode oh my god 😭
I didn’t think I’d like Melt this much. He made an incredible redemption

Came to the comments to say this, thanks
Yup. It's important because it has a Meta commentary on people who ship Aqua-Kana over AquAkane
@@DubsBrown well the author is setting up AquaKana to win anyways.

which character in kaguya is this
@@Frostgasm Ishigami during the cheer club / sports festival arc is the best example that comes to mind at fleshing out a character
@@Frostgasm Ishigami. You could say it also worked for Maki esp in the manga.
@@SantonioH10yeah but people always liked him, I don’t think anyone hated him when he was introduced

Basically just CHILLS this whole episode, they went crazy on this one, especially Melt!
this is my favorite anime episode of the year so far
your reaction to melt really got me thinking "if melt ever were to participate in an idol survival show, he will definitely got public votes and will end up in debut team"
This episode MELT my heart
Put some respect on Mengo Yukoyari as well! She did the artwork for this series and her artwork is a MASSIVE part of what makes this story phenomenal.
Everyone at Doga Kobo cooked so hard this episode

And this is how Melt raised in my top 3 Oshi no Ko favourite characters. This episode was really touching, the best of this season.
I was absolutely jaw dropped, gobsmacked, awestruck, FLOORED at that ANIMATIONNNNN. Like it’s actually INSANEEE
One of my favorite story character archetypes are the characters that did horrible things or did fuck ups in their past and try to become better people and change.
9:20 melt thought of the stunt, aqua just pushed him to think of something to stand out
One of the most amazing and moving episodes of anime I've ever seen. With such beautiful and artistic animation. Seriously blew me away.
After reading manga seeing it realised in such beauty has made my day I heckin love this show

Still respect Melt for holding back the playboy from Ruby's friend last episode

And this december we can see the real stage play of "2.5D stage play Tokyo Blade arc" in real life japanese theaters
Love your reaction ! Melt was amazing !
she’s goated back to back
Oshi no Ko is so damn amazing, havent watched an anime drama this good in years!

This and the next two episodes will also be the play. The last episode of the play is one of the best parts of the series imo
I wonder who directed this episode, it was so great.
Let's say Melt isn't the only one with a messed up backstory. This is the first of many you'll see.

LOVE THE VIDEOS! small little anime suggestion: Skip and Loafer. I really liked it 😋

I was watching it on full screen, the cat passing skipped a beat in my heart. don't know why

He is able to do extremely complex things with ease, such as making his acting look bad or good.
