Nancy Ames was a refreshing talent back in the day, had the whole package completely gifted. BJ killed it with 'Raindrops' but, the 'do' always looked like a big rug. They both did an exceptional job with their duet on Sullivan.
His "do" as you call it was a thick head of beautiful hair and that was a style back then, as was her big poofy blonde hair.. way better performance by him.. I never even heard of her. 😆
Lady dog, Billy Joe was a great singer, talented all the way. I do apologize to you, if you thought I was disrespectful. It appeared to me that that may have been the case, there are entertainers and professional performers who DO wear hair enhancers. No offense intended.....
I didnt even know the song was that old.. it must have been re-released in the 80's? That's when I remember 1st ever hearing it.. I noticed BJ change the words to "I'd buy a big home," instead of house.
Although separately I think they both have beautiful voices, I feel that as a duo they don't quite work in this performance... However, it is always a pleasure to see and hear someone who needs no introduction like B.J. Thomas, I still smile when remembering the joke that old Ed gave him on stage when he sang his "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head"... And of course, it's a pleasure to see and hear Mrs. Ames too. Beyond her appearances on this Show, she recorded 13 albums and co-wrote the main theme of the comedy and variety show television series The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and participated as a regular character in the satirical comedy TW3 (That Was The Week That Was), American version of the British original. As a curiosity, she is the granddaughter (since she is alive) of the 16th President of Panama, therefore, she has Latin ancestry.
Nancy has a beautiful voice leave a big 👍if you 100/100 if you agree with me
Mr. Thomas has a wonderful, soothing voice.
He’s also quite the bigwig. 😉
BJ was a legend
Always love BJ's voice.
B.J. and his dancing eyebrows 👍
BJ's hair is a wow! Nice and luscious!
That's wonderful this video, BJ Thomas forever!🤩🥰🌎🇧🇷
This is wonderful and outstanding.
Love this.
Ed loved Nancy Ames.
I do too!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Mr Thomas
Beautiful!
Meh. BJ went up on "I hope you don't mind" and Nancy didn't do so and they left out a verse. They changed some words too, which is lame. Hot mess.👎
Lovely.
Nice performance
I've been waiting forever to see this. Finally!

In terms of the “do,” it’s further evidence the 1970s were the absolute worst terms of fashion.

Talk about chemistry.
Elton John performed "Your Song" on the Andy Williams Show in 1971. Too bad that Elton could not make it on Sullivan.

Too bad the Ed Sullivan show couldn’t end with a bang by getting Elton John himself on the final few shows
🏆🏆🏆🙏
Written by Bernie Taupin and Elton John.
REALLY??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's absolutely mind-blowing! 🤯 I had no idea.

When men and women looked great ! I had hair like BJ back then. Wish I still had it!
The BIG HAIR DAYS and love ballads ..when life was a bouquet of roses 🌹
He has that Howard Stern look in this video. lol
Did you make a video with Judy's first pallette with Oden's Eye? Just curious. I'd love to see that❤.
I dont recall Nancy Ames
Peggy Lee called...she wants her wig back.
I don’t understand why they changed some of the lyrics!
What happened to that dude’s hair??
No.
Was this Elton’s or there song these two butchered it if it’s Elton’s song
Elton released it first in 1970. This performance is 1971.
