It's only free to enroll and then free for seven days. Seven days isn't enough time to really see how good the course may or may not be. If they gave a 30 day trial that would be better.

Be smart and apply for financial aid it only takes 16 days for it to be approved.

As someone who is both enrolled in a Cybersecurity degree program and taking the Google Certs along side my degree program, I feel like I am grasping the concepts and learning more through my Coursera courses. I am a Veteran so I get paid to go to school. Yes there is still value in a degree but it is more a promotion checkmark or a way to get through university gatekeepers. Cisco and Splunk are my next certs I’m going to be working on once I am done with the Google Cybersecurity.

it is not free anymore , financial aid now gives a maximum discount of 90% per course if u get accepted .

How does the Google cybersecurity certificate compare to EC-Council CEH, I wonder? Already enrolled in a course in the latter at Saddleback College, so just curious.
CEH is complete shit! Google Cybersecurity is a soc cert, CEH is a pen testing cert.

A quick route is local mom and pop shops, MSPs, or IT Call Centers. IT Call Centers is my personal recommendation. It's crappier than the other 2, however they do paid training, don't care if you have a cert, pay starts out at 15-20 an hour typically, can be work from home most often. Best part is you only have to put up with it for a year or two and then you can go almost anywhere from there.
The perks of call center approach is you'll go through hell, doing 40-60 tickets a day. From there a company will see you can handle high stress environments and you'll get hired on at double the pay doing 5-10 tickets a day or if you're lucky 5-10 a week.
It's actually incredibly easy to get into IT, no certs needed.

They are You just have to pick each course individually and audit the course instead of taking the trial or something

Most of the course materials are free, but you wouldn't be able to submit certain assessments or get grades for your outputs.
