Sulun Arms Tacsoras Lever release Shotgun Review (with dissasembly and cleaning)

- G'day fellas heres my attempt at a review of the Sulun arms Tacsoras with 18inch barrel. The Tacsoras is a lever release version of the benelli M4 made in turkey for the Australian Market and is classified as a lever action shotgun in Queensland (category B firearm).
Overall I really like the firearm, its been extremely reliable and has been able to cycle nearly all types of cartridges from high power slugs to 1250fps clay shot. The shotgun although seemingly well made does have issues with the screws on the rail and the sights, other than these issues I really do like it. They retail for roughly around $1400 at the moment coming with a carry bag and 6 chokes.
Note: I am just a farmer who likes firearms, take everything i say with a grain of salt as i am not a firearms expert and use your own judgement when taking apart the shotgun for cleaning.

Update: Hi everyone, the shotgun has continued to perform well for me over the last few months with no issues whatsoever. Sulun Arms has reached out to me and said they will fix the missing loose screws on the rail for me.
Please note I have recently heard of some shotguns having issues such as light primer strikes and crooked front sights. It doesnt seem to be to many but thats something to be aware of and i would have mentioned it in the video if I knew! When I was talking to the rep at Sulun they seem to have very good customer service and are fixing all these issues under warrenty. Please note that im not sponsered by them im just impressed with their customer service.

Thanks mate! Glad to hear i helped, remember too to let the bolt forward when you have got the barrel nearly fully in, i forgot that part.( thankfully i added it in writing)

There is a way to make it so you dont have to push the lever down to load shells into it but its not advised

I live in the USA even though we have semi autos in every flavor. I would still like to have a shotgun like this.
Be careful what you ask for. They likely will only end up here in the US if we surrender our rights like Australians did.
I’m not giving up my guns, I would just like to have one like this for my collection. 😊

What I've been waiting for is a vid showing how to unload the tube without cycling all the rounds via the camber,
I've been told you can do it but I'm yet to work out how.

@@OutbackarmsHi mate, I really enjoy the gun. However I have got few issues with Winchester Super Target rounds as it did not cycle properly, the shells after shots did not shoot out for reloading. I have some Saga Eurotrap target rounds, I don’t have any problems for that. It feels like the Super target is not powerful enough to recycle it. Maybe it is too new, the spring is too strong or some? But You have no issues with yours. What other rounds do you normally use, thanks.
@sunshinel6994 Hey mate what velocity does it say it is on the box? i found mine wont cycle anything below 1150fps. Most rounds i have used are above 1250fps and it cycles them great.
@@Outbackarms that is the reason why. It is 1150 on the box. So it will not cycle but tried rounds with 1250 above, they work fine👍
When re assembling the shotgun more specifically the trigger group did you have any issues with the wire in the push pin hole? I can’t seem to push mine past it
hey mate, try taking it all apart and realigning it again and if that doesnt help get a rubber mallet but dont force it if the wire seems to be directly in the way. Not sure what would be causing that sorry
I had the same issue with mine, i ended up using a tiny flat head screw driver to push the wire down just a touch as you feed the pin back in.

Is this the 18” or 14” model and do you have a reason why you chose what length?
Thanks mate, yeah its the 18inch model, i felt the 14 inch was too short and would be too loud and probs have to much dispersion.
@@Outbackarms I had the same thoughts on the shorter barrel too, 18 inch is short enough for the scrub stuff surely

Tried fitting a red dot to mine. The gaps in the picatinny rail were smaller than spec. Sight would not fit.
strewth! i havnt heard of that issue. Hopefully you can send it back and they can fix it quick. Always hate having to send firearms back because something is out of spec or broken new😑

@@Outbackarms Yeah it was an early one, also had trouble with the lever binding/sticking in the housing. Sulun ageeed to sending me a new trigger group and after 3 months and no response ended up fixing it myself
Is there ammo that it favors, or ammo that it has trouble with?
Hey mate it honestly seems to feed and cycle everything except clay shot under 1250fps. Other than that everything i have run through it cycles great. I would Not put any of those short mini shells in it however, heard they dont work at all! Also i forgot to mention but any longer cartridges than the standard 2 3/4 inch shells the magazine seems to only hold 4 rounds

How do you store/transport a lever release legally?
same as any other firearm bud, in a safe, or with a trigger lock...
Hey mate as the other comment said same as any other rifle or depending on your state, in qld i believe its bolt open but i dont travel with my rifle being on a property
The chokes on all the turkish guns end up bulging and freezing into the barrels. Fun fact (unless you are an owner)

@william6815 Yeah only one Cat D license per property, although i have heard now they will let you have two license holders per place but only one semi auto rifle allowed per person
