Sulun Arms Tacsoras Lever release Shotgun Review (with dissasembly and cleaning)
G'day fellas heres my attempt at a review of the Sulun arms Tacsoras with 18inch barrel. The Tacsoras is a lever release version of the benelli M4 made in turkey for the Australian Market and is classified as a lever action shotgun in Queensland (category B firearm).
Overall I really like the firearm, its been extremely reliable and has been able to cycle nearly all types of cartridges from high power slugs to 1250fps clay shot. The shotgun although seemingly well made does have issues with the screws on the rail and the sights, other than these issues I really do like it. They retail for roughly around $1400 at the moment coming with a carry bag and 6 chokes.
Note: I am just a farmer who likes firearms, take everything i say with a grain of salt as i am not a firearms expert and use your own judgement when taking apart the shotgun for cleaning.
Update: Hi everyone, the shotgun has continued to perform well for me. Sulun Arms has reached out to me and said they will fix the missing loose screws on the rail for me. Please note I have recently heard of some shotguns having issues such as light primer strikes and crooked front sights. It doesnt seem to be to many but thats something to be aware off. When i was talking to the rep at Sulun they seem to have very good customer service and are fixing all these issues under warrenty. Please note that im not sponsered by them im just impressed with their customer service.

How do you find it cycling birdshot?
@jasperpendlebury4551 hey mate i woulda said its the same thing as clay shot so pretty much anything ober 1300fps will cycle, hope this helps
Hey mate I've recently acquired my cat A+B. Is this on a property? Is it legal to shoot other than at a range or while hunting?
@syndos8900 if you have a mates place out west you can use it there with their permission. Otherwise in most states you only can go to a range or someones property
wtf thats mad 25 round mag but.... though 10 was max in Australia also how much im buying one 😎🇦🇺
@@jim-cn2oo from memory around 200 bucks
@@Outbackarms had any problems with it? I heard they stopped making them due to some internal breakages? the rifle I mean
@@jim-cn2oo nah been great so far, interesting ill look into it tho
Mine only 9. Gun Smith made it ”Trapper” for me. Short and handy❤
Hi mate what power is the scope your using? I have the same rifle mine is made in 1965 and still shoots really nice
@beeboop1726 hey mate its a really old 4x
Used 1 last month not bad
This is the 20inch barrel option, on the rossi site it says 10+1
@TheAmazingRusski interesting, mine is 11+1
@@Outbackarms and that's with both 357 and 38?
@@TheAmazingRusski yeah
hey mate sorry to be a pain but what shotgun shell holder you using being trying to find one but cant find any
@alexanderschembri9667 hey mate its the mesa shot shell carrier, if you go to suluns facebook page you should be able to find posts on it. I messaged the FB page and i bought it through my local dealer
Thank you mate much appreciated keep up the good work
Never seen that before. Wild
Imagine that in 10ga
Have you cut the magazine spring? Might be able to fit 12
😆😁
Good video - thanks.
Wtf is this abomination 🤦🏽♂️
Absolutely hate the leaver release on the trigger guard. It’s also an issue when people go to use the safety. See Ozzie reviews opinions about it too.
He was complaining about how you might accidentally hit the trigger whilst loading AFTER you already put one down the chamber… maybe put one in the chamber last?
Mines a 1941 model. But what's weird about it is I can't tell if it's been sporterized or not. The wood looks original, and the butt stock even has a 1941 mark on it. However in the front, the wood is shortened like the jungle carbine variant. But when you look at the jungle carbine online, the top wood is shorter than the bottom. On mine, top and bottom are the same length. Really strange.
My grandmother worked at the factory during the war as a Quality inspector, whilst her sons were fighting in New Guinea
You did the reload a bit wrong-ish
Had one from 1943, selling it is my biggest regret
Great job mate,I could be keen on the more traditional style, but not sure what is the best an quickest bolt release, main use will be duck shooting.Cheers
I'd say its worth looking at the t2000
Same we have guns in canada too, when Americans say Canada and Australia don't have guns is what they mean is we don't bring handguns and AR's to any schools
No we mean you have the governments boot so far in your mouth and cant speak . How many bans and limitations are you okay with? You cant even have standard capacity magazines.
I have that same scope on my Ruger scout.
I have two questions. Does it come in a 16 inch barrel and does it come in either 44 mag or 45 long colt?
theres a 16 inch version as well and only comes in 357 and 44
@@Outbackarms thank you.
Fabricada nós calibres .38; .357; 44-40; 44Mag e .454 casull.
@@a.j.f.8430 Thank you.
Почему каждый раз надо нажимать на рычаг?
It's a lever release shotgun. You press the lever after you fire to send the bolt forward. You also have to depress the lever to load to release the loading gate.
Ну это не удобно лучше полуавтомат
There is a way to make it so you dont have to push the lever down to load shells into it but its not advised
I've got the same rifle. How did you get an optic on it? Did you use a specific kit or take it to a smith?
Most are drilled and tapped under the rear sights, take the rear sight off then you can install a rail
@codycornell5036 yup. I found that out eventually. Thanks for the comment though. 👍
Me pasarian datos espesificos del riel picatini usado ? Gracias
I thought Canada was bad
In America it does all that on its own
Great vid 💪🏻
lol pump ar15
I'm about to buy a Lithgow factory refurbished No.1 MKiii with Mues Special Vernier peep sight, anything to look out for ? It's from my local gun shop
Good video mate 👍
younneed to be a farmer for the 25rd mag ?
nah cat A in Queensland doesnt have a magazine capacity limit on rimfire
@@Outbackarmsif you don’t mind me asking, how did you manage to get the 25rd magazine, I can only see 15 for sale. Cheers
@fosfam1743 hey mate bought it online from 3 gun tactical
@@Outbackarms thanks matey
There is literally no way of telling where it went or if it left our shores.
The point of these are faster follow-up shots, right? From standing, i feel like you'd be equally as quick with a bolt action. I know from the bench you can sit on the release, but from standing, it appears no faster. What's your experience with this?
definitely better and faster that a bolt mate, hunted a lot with bolt actions growing up and this is better for follow up shots
@Outbackarms appreciate the response! I'll check one out. Hopefully, my next 22, then
Nice rifle mate! Is that rifle legal in all states, or gust the ones without the appearance laws?
its rare but they have managed to make it legal in all states!
@@Outbackarms No way! That's wild to hear. It'd be awesome to see one of these rapid-fire beauts down in Tassie. The police just drop the ban hammer on just about anything that doesn't have wood and metal and look like it's from the 19th century. You guys wouldn't happen to be based out of Southern Australia would you? I heard people out there can still possess 30 rounders without a D-Category pest control license.
@jakesoros2376 nah im in queensland, yeah south Australia doesnt have a mag cap which is lucky. yeah will have to look it up but pretty sure tassie can have the taipan as well
@@Outbackarms Thanks for responding. Honestly don't know how Southern Australia got so lucky not to have the magazine capacity restrictions. That's the way it should be around the country but that's another conversation. I'm a younger firearm owner looking to get into 5.56 rifles, particularly ones that aren't so slow to operate. Aside from this one, do you have any other recommendations?
@jakesoros2376 yeah it say look at straight pulls like the oceania sp15, the warwick wfa1 and pumps like the taipan and 7615. theres some new guns like the lever release eureka coming out and the pump action from wedgetail industries. Good luck
I'm looking for a lee enfield myself right now, but I dont even really know where to go. Where did you get yours?
hey mate got it from a family friend but theres loads for sale on usedguns.com and ozgunsales.com. they are good websites
@@Outbackarms Thanks man. I'll take a look. Wasn't really sure I those guys were trustworthy.
@rustyspartan4258 yeah its people selling through the website mostly, just be careful. I havnt had a problem with it so far
Great review, thanks
Cheers to Outback Arms for presenting an excellent , professional and entertaining review regarding this shotgun! Went out and got one for myself, love it ! Cheers for the great video!
Thanks mate hope it works well for you!
How do you store/transport a lever release legally?
same as any other firearm bud, in a safe, or with a trigger lock...
Hey mate as the other comment said same as any other rifle or depending on your state, in qld i believe its bolt open but i dont travel with my rifle being on a property
Hi mate did the red dot fit straight on? Mine came with a different size top rail
yeah it did, should be a normal picitinny rail. I would definitely talk to the place you got it from or contact sulun arms to get it sorted out
At the 0.36 mark, what is the forend and sidesaddle that is on it?
Hey mates its a Truckee 8.5 inch for-end and mesa tactical sure shell carrier. You can find them on sulun arms Pty ltd facebook page
@@Outbackarms awesome. Thanks for your prompt reply. Much appreciated :)
@@cameronhickey7771 Glad i could help
Were do u get the mag well part from?
Mac Arms on facebook mate, got the brass deflector from him as well
Excellent video for shooters considering purchasing a12g shotgun
Good video cheers mate
Update: Hi everyone, the shotgun has continued to perform well for me over the last few months with no issues whatsoever. Sulun Arms has reached out to me and said they will fix the missing loose screws on the rail for me. Please note I have recently heard of some shotguns having issues such as light primer strikes and crooked front sights. Beautiful gun you sir just earned a sub 💪🏻🤙🏻💥🇺🇲🤝🏼🇬🇧
Fantastic video mate. Based your video, I just purchased one. Cheers
hope it goes great mate would love to hear back from ya how it goes
@@Outbackarms cheers mate, I will let you know.
@@OutbackarmsHi mate, I really enjoy the gun. However I have got few issues with Winchester Super Target rounds as it did not cycle properly, the shells after shots did not shoot out for reloading. I have some Saga Eurotrap target rounds, I don’t have any problems for that. It feels like the Super target is not powerful enough to recycle it. Maybe it is too new, the spring is too strong or some? But You have no issues with yours. What other rounds do you normally use, thanks.
@sunshinel6994 Hey mate what velocity does it say it is on the box? i found mine wont cycle anything below 1150fps. Most rounds i have used are above 1250fps and it cycles them great.
@@Outbackarms that is the reason why. It is 1150 on the box. So it will not cycle but tried rounds with 1250 above, they work fine👍
Good demo mate well done
Bro take that scope off😂
Nope. Red dots are actually 3xcellent on an levergun.
