- I have always had struggle with this course, but now I somehow hold the WR. Lap 1 and lap 2 had quite a bit of sloppiness to them, but the clean lap 3 kind of made up for that. There are some Shift Boosts that can be applied in a couple of spots, but those are rather inconsistent. Also, it's actually a bit faster to hit all of the boost plates at the end of lap 1. I didn't do that in this attempt, because... my mind was somewhere else at that point (late into the session, lol).

Seriously, that corner kills me almost every time I try going through it at above 1500km/h, and then CGN just hits a textbook MTS and flies through it perfectly at around 4000km/h. And then he does it again. Twice.

@@goddesscarrie767 hmmm it's been a while since I played, but from what I remember the thing I couldn't get working was keeping your speed out of an mts. That and I never got a good rail slide. I had relative success with shift boosting though

I've only played F-Zero X. How does "snaking" work? Is that like the bunnyjump of GX?
Old comment but it's kind of similar to Sliding in X, in that it's a Max Acceleration-only exploit that increases your speed for no reason. You gain speed by driving (stick) in the same direction as you tilt your vehicle (L/R), you alternate directions quickly to not constantly crash in the walls
So fast that the UA-cam compression can't keep up.
I'd really like to see one of these records played back in the first person view. If you have a replay of it, would you be able to?

Speed is only counted when the accelerator is pressed.

Actually, the faster you're going, the less likely it is for the game to track your speed properly. Whether the accelerator was held or not doesn't matter. In a few records that are traveling extraordinary fast, like SOLS (Max Speed) under 1'04, and TASes causes the registered speed to consistently break at ~2000 km/h.

This is awesome, however I wish snaking didn't exist, it makes it impossible for anyone who doesn't know how to perform this trick to compete at all.
I just started playing again last week since 2007 and just found out about snaking, now I'm sad because it has such a glaring exploit in it... and I suck at it.
