- The Minecraft Movie Teaser Trailer but I used Music from the actual game instead of a "generic" "Popsong". Honestly, If the Mario Movie can get it right then you have no excuse.
(This is not an insult to the music used in the Trailer, more to whatever idiot in Hollywood thinks that putting unrelated songs into trailers and music is a good marketing strategy.)

Just to clarify, I have nothing against the original song used in the trailer. To be transparent, I'm not personally very familiar with The Beatles, but I'm sure they are popular for a reason. I did Refer to The Magical Mystery Tour as a "generic popsong " in my original description, and I will apologize for that. I don't listen to a lot of popular music from today or the 60's and I did not recognise it as Beatles nor do I genuinely care. This doesn't mean I don't discredit your caring we just have different tastes in music and I'm sorry for not respecting that.
Alot of Pepole were also asking why I didn't use c418's music and I have two main reasons: First of all I am relatively new to the Minecraft space. I didn't start playing until after the Microsoft acquaition and have a bit of recency bias. I will admit that. But also I was going for a vibe with this trailer that I feel won't have been able to have been captured using the calming medative tracks from your childhood. If I were in charge of making this trailer and had the budget of universal, I totally would have had an orcestral remix of one of the more iconic songs made just for this teaser trialer.
This video is just to demonstrate that if you are making a movie for a fanbase, you need some level of "pandering." Putting an unrelated song in the trailer that only a fraction of people may recognize and appreciate is just conceptually stupid. If you want to make a movie for a franchise, you need to "pander" to them. I think a good example of this is the Mario movie but even franchises like Marvel love to put random Easter eggs everywhere that only the comic enjers will get. The Minecraft fans already have a laundry list of inaccuracies with this trailer alone, which is a really bad sign for the future of this movie and how in tune the filmmakers were with the fanbase. (This is also not an insult to the filmmakers; I'm sure they are amazing, just maybe not for a Minecraft movie.)
Since I'm here, if you want to know the rest of my thoughts, here you go:
At first, I hated the style of everything, but honestly, it has grown on me. The animation and models are way too detailed and uncanny, but I am starting to love it. A lot of people think it should have been animated, but I do see the filmmakers' perspective of not wanting to look like anything anyone else has done. (And quite frankly, I like this more than a lot of Minecraft animations made on UA-cam, no offense.)
My main concern is the actual content of the movie. They are trying so hard to be funny, and it's not. It’s just the stupid, boreing Hollywood humor. The story is so overdone at this point. "It's Jumanji but in Minecraft!" The characters have shown NO personality. Who are these idiots, and why are they dressed like that? If you remove the Minecraft skin from this movie, would it even be notable?
If you look at the best video game movies, they are helmed by passionate people. Scott Cawthon was on set for the FNAF movie, and Nintendo would not let Illumination go five feet without them. I don’t see the same thing with the Minecraft movie. It feels like just some guys were given this movie to make, and they are trying their best, I’m sure, but we as fans can tell that it’s not the same.
It’s important to acknowledge that all we have is a teaser trailer and the movie isn't done being made yet. We could be misinterpreting things, or the creators could take the feedback from this trailer and improve the film. I hope so. Yeah the Beatles had something amazing goin with that train like intro and the voices and stuff but it got ruined ngl, it's one of the best songs on the album
An orchestrated and more epic version of Pigstep would fit well for this trailer. The original music they used wasn’t bad either though.

Scott Buckley's Pigstep remix for AvM is pretty good in that respect. It has boss music orchestral vibes

It really sucks that Microsoft refuses to work with c418 all he wants is that he owns his music he makes and not Microsoft he doesn't ask for a lot compared to how much the game makes a hour the new songs are good but thay just don't feel or hit the same as c418s songs
That is Valid. I Love c318's much as much as the next guy, however Personally i don't think his music works well for this style of trailer. I would lie to see a potential trailer that dose use that music.

Yeah, I was going to say. I'm not too upset about the stylistic choice because it had to be something unique. And since there is also an animated Netflix show coming, It makes sense for the Movie to be a different medium similar to how alot of CG movies will get Hand-drawn TV counterparts.
That being said, at what point is a movie Animated? The 2019 Lion King movie was completely animated but everyone calls it live-action. How much of this movie will just have a couple green green-screened folks in an animated movie? I don't know.

Pigstep fits to well in the trailer
They messed up what the actual game is supposed to be. The fact that this was even announced a looooong time ago only to end up another jumanji with piglins (who almost never even crosses the overworld) the only "antagonists" showing up is weird. They had to at least show an Enderman, like the cinematic trailers in MC Dungeons, those genuinely looked so coolaaaa. And I personally think even changing the music for the trailer would've made it seem remotely closer to the game instead of the producers relying on stunning visuals that doesn't matter to us fans of the game.
if we don't see a cover of pigstep, or any minecraft song for that matter, in the final cut of the film i am going to reviewbomb it
I've always imagined a Minecraft movie trailer to use an orchestral version of Cat or something of that manner
The inclusion of the music reminds of a comment i found on some vid about the Minecraft movie whare he stated that Minecraft at least in its earlier days was supposed to make you feel like you were out of place in a strange alien world and that the choice of real life people may reflect a descion to bring back that idea in some way. And the music you choose really does give it a slightly ominous but still beautiful and inquisitive spirit
this edit also fixes the overall pacing of the trailer too which is neat
Seriously, just using the already existing minecraft musics and sound effect would've been just enough to make fans even a little bit nostalgic...in the premise of not terrified by the realistic mobs

I like to imagine seeing the teaser in a theatre before the movie you picks starts and then hear the first 5 notes immediately jumping to conclusions.
all minecraft songs would fit in with the trailer rather than the beatles in my opinion, because the songs are more minecraft-ish with no lyrics. but you are right, aria math would fit better in the intro, sadly they (micr0soft) probably would NEVER ever try to use c418 because c418 has all rights to his music ( unlike lena raine's and the others, because their music is all owned by micr0soft.)

I propose that we all start buying tickets for animated movies to show middle finger to Warner Bros and other large corporations. We need to show them that we are fed up with treating animations as a genre for kids and constantly making live action films even for stories that should be animated.
Perhaps after seeing how, for example, Transformers One earns much more money than Minecraft movie, they will learn to treat animation and animators with respect they deserve.
If we work together, we can make it happen. Remember that we forced Mojang to get rid of the mob vote and also forced Paramount to change Sonic's design.
