I'd also love for Disney one day in my lifetime to make an animated film about a polar bear that is good unlike Norm of the North and maybe even revisit The Tales of Reynard the Fox that they tried in the 30s and 40s.
I really don't think anyone has a power to accomplish that. Like... Boycotting Disney is pretty much impossible, because most people in the world don't understand if movies are good or not, they just watch them because they want to watch just something, and they watch Disney products because they are used to the fact that Disney is popular and they made some good movies occasionally (a decade ago), so why won't watch it. They do get good ideas out of people but marketing and toy sale opportunities often change the movie. With wish they were going to make the little star into a mute star boy that spoke with hand signs or pictures, making him a potential love interest as well, but toy sales... yeah.
after hearing the original story of Wish disney will ALWAYS prioritize the bare minimum just for more merchandise instead of actual good movies with meaningful plots.

1:48 Isn't it supposed to be the complete opposite? When technology is improved upon and interest on it is strong, not only does it lower the cost of the already existing technologies but additionally is able to create a more cost-effective solution? If it's not that how do you call it a technological progression?
I actually find this so fascinating because YES, you would think that techonological innovation would reduce the manpower needed to create good animation, and thus reduce the time and cost. But ironically, the increasing of 3D model detail, texture, lighting, and movement all still require manpower to make look good. I mean, think about it, what's easier, drawing all of Rapunzel's hair, or 3D rigging every single hair AND THEN ALSO animating it. This is why these companies are so head over heels for developing AI, because THAT is their solution to reducing this manpower. So, you could eventually be right, but for the wrong reasons, as that would kinda take the humanity out of the art.
I understand that reasoning, and ultimately it will be up to how the technology is handled that things will improve or worsen with time. Previously movies had to create new technologies because the things they tried were never before done, like using human models that didnt feel uncanny in the incredibles. Since i dont personally work in the field i dont know how much optimisation these things need after all this timm. if being a kid has taught me anything is that good storytelling will almost always trump high quality animation, its still why some of disney's most beloved movies are the old handdrawn and poorly cgi'd movies and how in the case of toy story, there has been an inverse distribution in the quality of storywriting and visual quality, it looks amazing but the story feels rushed or forced or poorly worked upon. I'm already writing half an essay, but im sure there are many people oit there with more paragraphs to talk about this exact topic
I personally actually LOVED Frozen 2 more than 1. The lore and mythology that ended up in it, and the beautiful nods to culture and Scandinavian history is great! I think it’s a fantastic series with such a big root of ancient mythology and magic that they absolutely COULD explore me, a whole world of really fascinating stories.
My favorite part from Frozen 2, was how they just kept trying to recreate Let It Go with most of their songs. Throw darts at a board, and see which one sticks.
3:44 gonna be honest here cruella doesn’t count because it was an original movie that just used an existing character, and it’s hands down -one of my favourite- my absolute FAVOURITE movie ever.
If Disney can’t make original films well, that’s sad. But if they can actually make GOOD sequels then let them make GOOD sequels. I’m all for it if they aren’t ruining the movie
The Black Cauldron would be great for a live action remake. It flopped in the box office so maybe with a little tweaking, they could attempt to get some of their money back. Plus the atmosphere of that movie could really appeal to the fantasy/dnd lovers. Dear god, I hope they don't do Pocahontas. There is no way to modernize that movie and still keep it child-friendly.
And then they try to gaslight us by saying “no but this is what you wanted! We kept saying we know what you want better than you do, but nOoOoO, the AUDIENCE knows what they want” 🤦🏻 bro pls
The main reason I liked the Cinderella live action bc Prince Charming had a personality AND a name. Also, if someone had the same shoe size as Cinderella, the shoe would either shrink or grow. It fixed things that bugged me when I was little. 😅
especially after Inside out 2. Disney saw "Ohhh hey pixar. We love you and your ideas are so crazy. Buut ... please stay at remakes. The remake made so much money and if you not we will cut jobs."
Pixar has more original movies coming out. Next year one is called “Elio” another one in 2026 is called “Hoppers” and an original series next year called “Win Or Lose”
6:10 man, they're making a Terminator 7, Disney isn't even that bad. Toy Story has 3 universally loved parts. Terminator has 2, with the latest two sequels being almost universally hated. What's with making sequels to COMPLETE stories that absolutely NO ONE asked for? Terminator 1-2 is a complete story. Toy Story 1-3 is a complete story. I see a person that would ask for Frozen 3. I see a person that would ask for Zootopia 2. But who in the world would think THESE would be profitable or well received? Also have you ever seen a franchise with more than 3 good movies? I haven't. Back to the Future? 3. Toy Story? 3. Ice Age? 3.(I don't even remember how many of them they made or what happened after 3, and I was a HUGE fan).
Star Wars? 3 original movies, 3 prequels, at least one of them is well-received, and Rogue One. At least from the good one's, because the bad one's balance them
Blame the executives. They want getting money with the "safe" option when it turns out that trying to be safe is actually worse and less profitable than taking risks. Risks that should be taken for innovation and creativity.
I Think the reason why Disney isnt doing any 2D movies anymore, even with wish, is because 2D animators have a union. 3D animators do not. (So i’ve heard from another comment section)
i think there's a difference between these sequels and inside out 2 because apparently, it was planned to release a second one right around the time puberty hit for the main demographic of inside out one. I can speak to this, since I was like, five when the original came out, and fourteen when the sequel did. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I know I'll prbly relate to Riley a lot more this time.
Agreed, that's why I actually chose to give Inside Out 2 a chance when I watched its trailer. And I didn't watch a Disney movie in theaters since 2019 up until Inside Out 2. Mostly because of the pandemic, Disney controversies, or if I heard any other Disney movies released between 2020-2023 was just garbage. But then I actually chose to watch Inside Out 2 because I waited a long time for it (I was 7 when the original came out and the sequel came when I'm 15-16) and I knew they actually knew what they were doing by putting it off for a few years until most of us grew older. While these other sequels are released in 2-5 years and are just cash grabs
The only sequel I'm vaguely interested in is Zootopia 2 because they've done such a good job with the worldbuilding and characters that I think a second movie is needed here.
To watch any of these sequels, I recommend watching them in foreign languages especially that which you are getting better at. I definitely recommend Immersive translate for generating bilingual subtitles since they help make it better
I blame everyone who cried for gay Elsa, when we literally had an aroace Queen, which we really need. Love Merida but it’s more about not wanting an arranged marriage. Elsa was Queen, nobody could make her do that. It was a choice. But their movies have been falling off lately so this what they’re doin. Just give us a new princess dang it
I am a huge Disney fan. Before, I could not wait for Disney to release their next movie and am so obsessed with the golden age films that I decided to become an animator. I watched Tarzan six times in theaters. Now, when I see Disney releasing a new film, my reaction is not joy, but cringe. I literally cringe and want to cry, because they are digging themselves a hole and I do not want to see the studio fail. I hoped with Encanto they turned a corner, but now… Well, I’m mostly watching K-Dramas on Netflix and am not renewing my Disney+ subscription. Sadly, while people keep supporting this remake/sequel trend Disney will keep doing it. I also don’t see how executives cannot see the downward trend. We no longer have Disney Stores in Toronto because they are no longer sustainable. The Disney name is losing its reputation and soon, people will stop caring about their films. 😢
For me, Encanto (2021), was really the last movie I actually enjoyed, after which it just got pretty boring. What I really want is more movies like Encanto and Coco (2017), which teach us such valuable lessons while also having really good characters, like in Encanto, it teaches us all about the family, and even Abuela, kind of the antagonist of story, was a character with well-meant intentions, but losing sight of what's in front of her in the process, traumatized by the loss of her husband, whereas Coco also has a similar value, and all the scenes, especially the bridge made of flowers, were extremely captivating to look at! I also would love to get more original Disney princess movies, and not just sequels and live actions, and also not as lazy as Wish (I honestly forgot about this one seeing how ridiculously plotless it was, and not to mention, it was so mediocre that I don't even see much online about it), that actually resemble more humble values, as compared to the absurd Snow White remake.
tbh, this is a big reason why i turned to anime. its just a lot more creative and varied than just “frozen THE SEVEN-HUNDRED-EIGHTY-EIGHTH” domination the film scene in the west
Frozen 2 was a Failure, the Current Management has to stop as the Live Action Remakes are killing what makes Disney Special about their Animated Projects
I don’t understand why they won’t just make 2D movies again that did really well in the 90s- 2000s so why did they stop? I mean some 3D movies are good but most fail and are just unbearable to watch.
As much as I love Frozen I don't really think it needs another part. The mysteries are solved, Elsa found her real self, Anna is a queen and everyone is happy. What else do they want to come up with??
thanks, music's always in the description of the video. Its: Abandoned Lot of Dreams - Pokemon Black and White Able Sisters - Animal Crossing: New Leaf Hateno Village - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I have no idea what they're doing with mufasa because IT LOOKS LIKE LIVE-ACTION or is live-action because it's either an animation or its just in live-action idk
5:08 "bundling the release of the live action and the animated movie together like a combo pack" hate to break it to you, but they already have, you can get bundle packs of little mermaid, lion king, cinderella, 101 dalmations, sleeping beauty, and mulan. i think beauty and the beast is in there to
Serves Disney right for being an absolute trashole to sonic 3. even though I haven't watched either of the two movies that came out the same day, I will most likely watch sonic 3.
I cannot believe they're making a THIRD movie. What more is there to do? Anna is ruling Arendelle, Elsa lives in that forest, Hans is at home, Olaf is still a pain in the behind...How do you continue from that?
@@artbytesia There is still Hans's revenge and other interesting things to cover like Norse mythology (as shown in the first concept art they showed us), but also a chance to add a hint of real life History, Frozen II (fictionally) takes place during 1846, so if we push time forward two years, we can add elements like the 1848 revolutions, hence there is still ways to expand and create intereating plots
Kung fu panda 4 was ass, ruby gillman flopped and was boring. And Orion and the dark was disappointing. The only good thing they had was the wild robot this year.
The same thing is happening with the theme parks, (Especially Disney World), now with Universal opening a third theme park while disney tries to minimize the amount of money they have to invest.
I do have to admit Stitch & Angel, do look like this gender swapped version of Nidoran from Pokemon, but has that extra-terrestrial atmosphere to them.
If you look at the Nidoran's shiny versions, then they have the correct colors like Stitch and Angel! 😄 Shiny male nidoran is blue and shiny female nidoran is pink.
And they are making a 3rd movie and it’s like, the 2nd movie was a decent conclusion even though it’s not as good but like has anyone forgot the lore of the heroes that tragically died from the omnidroid, they even had a deleted scene in 2nd movie of a funeral speech. At most a prequel movie or even show would have more of a existing purpose
I totally agree with you about the Transformers and Judge Dredd. As a long time fan of Transformers, I really did not like what Bay did to the legacy of the characters. He utterly annihilated their personalities, like changing Optimus Prime from a protector of life, basically into a war criminal. And, as for their physical appearance, if they did not say who they were, I would not be able to recognise them, apart from Optimus Prime and Bumblebee having vague appearances to their classic form. No one else in a Bay movie remotely looked like their former selves. And, I used to collect the 2000a.d. Comics, and Keith Urban's version of the dystopian law man was pretty spot on, as judge, jury and executioner. I cannot remember much about the comics, but he was pretty darn close. Pity that the movie did not do so well.

@@biggie395 😭
@@Tyradriknows its weird how they focus on the merch more than the movie itself. Movies' good, then people *buy* the merchandise.
Because then they can't hire one of their friends and family instead.

Pixar has an original Elio in June coming out and next year both Disney and Pixar have originals coming out
Pixar did in fact try, but Disney is just foiling itself at this point.
This is not what Walt wanted his company to be
1:48 Isn't it supposed to be the complete opposite?
I think it’s a fantastic series with such a big root of ancient mythology and magic that they absolutely COULD explore me, a whole world of really fascinating stories.
same ngl frozen 2 was more fun to watch and the lore was fun too
It’s just a shame that they clearly rushed it to get something out as it roughly came close to covid and created some awkward development project wise
My favorite part from Frozen 2, was how they just kept trying to recreate Let It Go with most of their songs.
Throw darts at a board, and see which one sticks.

My Dad called it 5 years ago that The Minions will have 10 movies

i think there's a difference between these sequels and inside out 2 because apparently, it was planned to release a second one right around the time puberty hit for the main demographic of inside out one.

I honestly feel bad for Pixar cause they seem like they're trying to make original stuff but Disney always ends up greenlighting sequels.
On the flip side DreamWorks just cannot STOP COOKING!
I've got lots of original ideas but no outlet. It's pretty sad seeing this. After 100 years. 😢
If they even dare to do something with Wall-E again (sequel or remake), that's when we get the pitchforks and torches
