These are songs of a country that is mine where that livelihood was gone for almost a half century before I was born, yet these songs make so happy they bring me to tears. This is glorious. God bless you. God bless everyone involved in the production of this music.
Never heard this song before, or even know who these singers are. but by the end of this video, i was bopping my head to the chorus. I loved the bit at the end where they mention cooking bacon on the shovel. My best mates grandad, before passing away of old age, used to work at the Swindon railway works in the UK, and he used to drive the steam locomotives. on one occasion, right before retirement, my mate as a little kid was given a ride on the footplate and ate bacon, straight off the shovel, like in this song! Amazing!
oh the, the day, they'll never forget the day, they'll pension of the pair of us for the day we run away this is such a good dong and the greatest adaptation of this song
Need to do Eight Freight Blues, The Man That Put the Engine in the Chip Shop, and Black Five as well. Maybe also do some Don Bilston songs. These are great, keep it up!
Looking into doing nearly all of those, black 5 may be troublesome without a black 5 though, had multiple of the new ones but the valve gear always fails so never bothered with any more
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 are these Hornby models? And do they make American HO scale? I’m looking to get me a Black Five, 8F and 9F, though I’m American
I'd love to see Pinwherry Dip - the antics with the wagons would be incredibly entertaining! I really like your engine shed - where's it from? Fantastic little video.
A quick something to say: when you’re driving British locomotives you drive on the left and with American locomotives you drive on the right but it depends on the layout. Is it a British railways layout?
Yes indeed, I’ve got a good few on the burner, waiting to see how to adapt the chip shop song but eight freight blues would be next and then hopefully requiem then in the sidings

I saw it more as a precaution, especially seeing as the signaler watched them nearly tip on the junction, dispatch it straight away just incase, also the engine may be damaged from just an ordeal
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 yea, I suspect that the wheels got a flat tire on them (that means if an engine skates down a hill or brakes hard then there becomes a point on the wheels that gets flat)
The axel bearing were notorious for overheating at regular speed which limited them to slow goods movements anyways, though I do think they resolved this later on but there were already stronger and faster engines by that time, wouldn’t think they’d hold up at that speed though, lubricator or not
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 Meh, if barely anyone notices it, it's fine. But if you were bothered, you could get a dummy loco and use another engine to pull it. Because OO scale likes to derail when it's pushed.
Thank you very much. It would be nice to do a blue train with friends remake. I wonder if James would be better than one of the twins due to similar power output.
I could see the small coal truck, the van, the tanker, and the lowloader; as the first four with a pair of hoppers and vans as the next four, with at least one hopper and the brake van at the end of the train.
@@jayadriano6100 i used to do that all the time with my wooden railway toys as a kid! Used to make up my own thomas the tank engine stories when playing with them.

I love Dave Goulder’s music I like the way you interpreted it may we have more like eight freight blues.
Yup eight freight blues is next, though I may put out a small sample in the meantime
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 another good one is The man who put the engine in the chip shop
Indeed, I’ll have to figure out the chip shop part but I may do all the rest and make a mock set for the chip shop
I like how this guy still hearts comments to this day. Anyways Awesome song!
Always love seeing the comments! Thank you
These songs are great, and these videos visualising them are excellent!
I don’t know why, but British railroad song just hit DIFFERENT.
I can sing this song from start to finish pretty much! Love it!
Same
Dave Goulder’s music is great!
Just listening to this song makes me happy :D
It’s goofy and silly and matches the song slightly, quite humorous if I do say so myself.
I've never heard of this song, but this is a banger! Love the visuals man, I'd love to see an adaption of Eight Freight Blues
That is hopefully the next one in production 👍

I wish i had a model railway that was not the size of a A3 piece of paper so i could actually run at proper speed, great video
amazing adaptation, i bet im not the only one who thought when looking at the title that they would be running away from scrap or something
Like Douglas or Oliver?
@@marcusyoutubegamineer yes but a more realistic take

Wonderful video & song 👍
Great job!! And amazing layout!
Again, as with the turntable song, brilliant, top notch, mabe well see 8 freight blues or something such as long narrow shovel or even pinwary dip :)
Eight freight blues and will be on the way soon 😁
I love the day we ran away
This song is an earworm.
Well that’s cheered me up 👍
Loved it start to finish 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it😁

I’ve been growing up with trains my entire life, one day I think that I’m going to become a fireman possibly a driver if qualified.
Banger after banger, well done
Thank you 😁
I blame the guard for not turning on the air brakes. Anyway, I love this song and I can see it from start to finish👌👍
1 no air brake
2 the van is grey so has only a hand brake, no vac, no air
your vids are top tier!!!
This song is pretty much the whole reason I decided I needed a 4F for my layout XD
BRILLIANT 😂❤
I'd love to see Pinwherry Dip - the antics with the wagons would be incredibly entertaining! I really like your engine shed - where's it from? Fantastic little video.
The engine shed is scratch built, sadly no my layout though I agree it is brilliant
A quick something to say: when you’re driving British locomotives you drive on the left and with American locomotives you drive on the right but it depends on the layout. Is it a British railways layout?
No shit
Indeed it is a British layout, sadly I did forgo the proper railway standard of sides to allow for better ease of filming, apologies
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 don’t stress

god the goods train consist in this video is so good

I think the background music is just the door things That we all played with as kids
This video is adicting

It is man and the sets amazing
Like the turntable song?
I love you so much
2:27 if you ever been on a real steam engine this is so accurate
I love Dave’s railways songs.. would you do Requiem?

@@terrier_productions You do have a good point there mate.
Nice usage of the LMS Fowler 4f. I have a Thomas & Friends OC who is based off the Fowler 4F. His name is Knox.
Wow, that’s cool.
I wonder if one of the episodes of Thomas was based on this incident
James in a mess:
Fantastic work on the video. Love the camerawork. Also why did they need a breakdown crane?
I saw it more as a precaution, especially seeing as the signaler watched them nearly tip on the junction, dispatch it straight away just incase, also the engine may be damaged from just an ordeal
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 yea, I suspect that the wheels got a flat tire on them (that means if an engine skates down a hill or brakes hard then there becomes a point on the wheels that gets flat)
Indeed, alongside that if you’re running a loco from 1924 at well over its goods capability’s it’s going to wear down a good few bits on it
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 yea, like what bits exactly?

A fowler without a fowler tender... interesting..
LOOORE
But besides that, great video!
Yes, indeed, some ran with Johnson tenders for a time. Not sure why guessing as it was closest replacement

I'd like to see your take on The Dinosaur The Railway Left Behind
James' crew every 6 days:
what manufacturer made that loco?, also, what loco clasification is it?
Hello there, the brand is Bachmann, the locomotive is classified as a 4f
@@thehorrocksbranch9888 thanks m8, love your vids

The tankers derailed whilst they were shunting it, should probably make a song about that.

Oh, and the next three wagons after the pair of vans was a tanker, a conflat, and a seven plank truck.
And possibly a utility van after the seven planker
Why did they get the breakdown train?
Just as a precaution, told of a runaway and didn’t know how they’d find it, though it luckily stayed on the rails

When i get a model train i will do a runaway train moment and make it derail lol
