- This is a continuation of altissimo lessons for tenor sax. I cover pivot points, resets, momentum, and speed. I'm using both a hard rubber and metal V16 Vandoren mouthpiece with a Vandoren redbox 2.5 reed. Cannonball Vintage reborn sax with dark amber lacquer.

LOL!

iv’e been playing Tenor...
in UK since 73 ..
but I still learn from your video’s
Good Work and wish great success.
Cool
I love your method of teaching. Thanks for your tribute to the Lakey mouthpiece. Claude was a friend of mine. He began making them in the early 80s in the basement of his studio in Southern Cal. May he Rest In Peace.
Cool, thanks
I love your coinage of the term harcat. I'm seriously advanced in music-theory (specifically microtonal theory), and your concept of "harmonic catastrophe" is a great way to understand woodwinds that don't overblow at a true harmonic series .
"Top Tones for Saxophone" - Sigurd Rascher....great idea 👍❗❗
Absolutely on the same page with you. Your nomenclature is really a help in systemising these phenomena.
Thanks
🎷 Excellent video. You are a great orator and your explanations are not overly complicated for the novice player. I liked and subscribed. Cheers :-) 🎷
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Good Sir, very nice... thanks. Momentum is interesting for the daring among us who may go for broke on stage...it can work. especially if you don't think and lock up
4:55 damn that sounds funky, DAMN HOW’D HE DO THAT???
What a shame not to live near you. If you know of a book that brings all that
I'm writing one myself. I'm looking for a publishing company now
@@Sirvalorsax I'm glad you're doing that!! You are an extremely good communicator. I think you could possibly do an E-book. What I mean is the following:
We read what you write and diagram; then there is a link which takes us to an abbreviated video demonstration. So the learner has the chance to compare his results on the horn. An E-book presupposes different pricing (I imagine) and perhaps forces device usage such as Kindle, but I'm NOT technically savvy. Could be read on a cellphone, too.
Anyway just a thought. If the book is published on paper, the link idea is still possible. Good luck!!!!
@@joshcharlat850 I'm still working out the logistics for the book. Thanks for the excellent feedback.
@@Sirvalorsax You ARE the Bomb!! No doubt about it.
Hi Adriene, split F fingering is not working on my tenor. It's because nothing happens to the A key when I lift off the middle finger. Actually the mechanics of G key is pushing the A key always down. I think, this happens for a couple of tenor sax types. Any recommendations?
Thanx for all your very stimulating stuff on your channel, Alex
What kind of sax do you have and how old is it?
It's a Hohner President, a German Tenor designed by Max Keilwerth and built in 1968. Some of the key mechanics seem to be special, but it has a great sound - especially since I have bought the Vandoren Jumbo Java T-45 which I have seen in your reviews. I was so impressed by the Vandorens, that I bought the Java T-45 and the V5 T-20, too. It's so fun, if you can play relaxed and easy classical stuff, jazzy pieces or just making "noise" with the "mouth cannon" :-)))
Ugh too confusing for a novice player
Like it says in the title this video isn't really for novice players.
Why were you watching in the first place?
At least he didn't dislike the video
I just posted a Multiphonics for Altissimo video. This is good for alto and tenor as far as getting a grasp on overtones for altissimo production. It is also an easier way to get started for less advanced players.
